15 CHAPTER 13

JAYDEN'S POV:

Two of the guards were seated in a small vacant hall, and Cole who was waiting for us, leaning on the door with his hands rested on the doorknob, gestured us in.

I entered the room along with Cole. After a fleeting moment of greetings, we got down to the business. I inquired them, "Can you tell me what happened the other day? The whole of what you guys remember."

"A while after she regained her consciousness, the examination was done; she told us she needed to get to the restroom. And so the both of us went along with her," he explained, indicating himself and the other guard beside him, "She told us it was uncomfortable having us follow at hand; the area wasn't much spacious for the both of us to wait either, so we moved across to the counter."

And the other one began, "We waited for what seemed like 20-30 minutes approximately, but she never returned. We called out to her as well; no response. Suspensions aroused, we barged into the restroom after a quick warning to those of them inside. There weren't many women in there; we found the IV stand; down on the floor with a few drops of blood as well, adjacent to the laver." He averred.

"Did you notice anything or anyone unusual?"

"No sir, but we are sure of one thing. No one entered or exited with a hospital gown after she went in," he responded.

"Okay, and you did mention about the IV stand on the floor, yes?"

"Yes"

"How so?"

"The whole stand was on the ground, horizontally." One of them replied as the other one began, "It might have been an act of defense, if she really was abducted, that is,"

"Right, but such a metal which is quite heavier than usual, when pushed down, shouldn't it make audible clatters at the least?" I continued, "Are you sure you didn't hear anything?"

They scratched their heads for a while before they answered, "It's strange sir, we didn't really hear anything, let alone a minute noise of that sort."

We weren't able to convene much of the particulars that were handy at the moment. Thus, we proceeded to the control room in hopes of catching a glimpse of truth. As the staffs in the hospital were au fait with the situation, we managed to get the access to the room without needing to persuade them much. You can say it's one of the demerits of the investigation of cases because not all people who can help us would help us. We often felt the need to persuade people to cooperate with us. Fortunately, that wasn't the case here.

Hence, we commenced from the footage at the counter, parallel to the restroom; they didn't have surveillance cameras in the wards as for the privacy of the patients. So, we watched the video of Bianca, just like we were told, advancing to the restroom along with the cops behind her; she turns to them and says something and eventually gets in when the guards halt at the counter. That was her last scene as we couldn't find any footages covering her anymore.

"Was she given a phone to contact anyone?" I asked the guards.

"No, sir. Other than her mother, no one else was informed about the girl regaining her senses. She didn't ask for one either." One of the guards answered.

"What did her mother say?" Cole enquired.

"She seemed to be caught at work; she informed us she'll be here right after work and requested us to take care of her,"

"What do we do now?" Robert frowned.

"Let's check the footages again. But this time, look for someone strange and suspicious," I instructed, when I turned to the staffs and said, "Please play the ones at the corridor of her ward, incase someone else came to pay her a visit."

Thus, the footages from exactly six in the morning were played. Nothing seemed dubious so far as there were only passer-by's, nurses, doctors, and janitors passing by the corridor. And then, we reached the time when Bianca woke up, a couple of guards, doctors and nurses entering as well.

"Pause!" Cole literally screeched.

He pointed out to a woman wandering around the corridor for sometime. She was dressed casually with a baggy shirt and denims, along with an oversized trench coat at knee-length, with the buttons on at her waist.

"I saw her passing a couple of times," Cole stated. She even chatted to a guard appointed. "Is he here?" I asked the head of the guards, indicating the specific cop who spoke with the woman. In no time, he brought him to us.

The head of the guards demanded him an explanation as the video of him conversing with the woman was displayed to him once again, when he began, "I saw her walking around the spot- two to three times; And when the doctors were in, the other guards who were with me, accompanied the doctor and his people while I stayed by the door. She walked slowly towards the window; that's when I asked her who she was looking for. She told me that her kid was playing around the floor and she was looking for him, incase if he might've entered random wards. I asked her if she needed help with that, she told me she'll verify with her husband once, if the kid was with him." He briefed.

"From what it seems like, she was pregnant. No?" I asked him when he replied, "She was" and proceeded, "And she did walk with difficulty; hands on her stomach."

"Hmm"

"Track the surveillances covering her after she left."

After moments and moments of working, they finally looped the parts she was in. According to the videos, after her small encounter with the cop, she advanced to the restroom of the same floor. Some more random people passed in and out of the restroom when finally it was Bianca's turn. Every one of ours' focusses remained keen on the screen. After a countable amount of women exited the restroom, there she came- the pregnant woman.

Wait.

Everyone in the room exchanged ridiculously baffled glances that did seem quite hilarious, like some furrowed their brows to the point that they might slice their eyes, and some widening their eyes much that those eyeballs might fall off the sockets any time, while the others gasped, widening their mouths. Back to the point, we were all awestruck, looking at what we looked at.

"What the fuck?!"

"Her belly is gone! She's not pregnant anymore!"
