1 The Asteroid

Sentient beings have their hubris. They believe that they are the chosen ones of the universe in which their own manifest destiny wills them to conquer until they cannot or when they are faced with extinction. With no knowledge of other sentient beings outside they feel alone. You learn from yesterday and study it today so you can adapt tomorrow. In the distant future the sentient beings of a rocky planet rich with vivacious plants and bustling lifeforms lived their life normally with a mix of politics, war, and the occasional peace.

However that all changed when a super asteroid was discovered that threatened the sustainability of the lifeforms of the planet. Everything fell into chaos yet there was order. People rioted and committed crimes while the upper echelon of the society contemplated their own survival. They worked together to create a solution.

Eventually they found that solution, using centuries of war weapons used for destroying themselves to combat the threat. How funny is it, that the weapons they created to destroy each other was actually their savior. Of course they were skeptical so they created many new things in their moment of darkness.

Will this work, does it work that way, it actually works like this? They realized with threats over the many millennia of their existence they over came, adapted to, and overcome until they were the dominate species of their planet. Then they competed with each other to determine the dominate group of the species.They contemplated many things in what was their supposed final hour in which they came to the conclusion there was no group superior to the other. History had shown that just and they already knew but they just pushed it to the side.

And as such together they destroyed the super asteroid that threatened their existence, but with the falling debris they noticed some changes. They didnt understand at first and thought it might be radioactive and it was ironic that once they thought their doomsday was over yet it might be closer than they think. They didnt compete with each other over petty politics now that new discoveries were coming to light.

Within the following debris gases from the outside permeated throughout the atmosphere until it incumbered eveything living. But nothing happened, yet. Then they noticed the changes, they studied it, took note of it, for what happens yesterday they can study it for tomorrow. The plants grew and grew and grew, seemingly as if they had a will of their own. The animals had strange occurrences as they grew stronger, showing that the possessed new traits varying from species to species, then they looked at themselves when they noticed them too, had changes.

They possessed new power, of the natural elements, of the periodic elements table, strength, wisdom, speed, natural laws, laws of space, new laws they havent discovered. Over their life they became even stronger and lived longer. The enticing prospect of living longer and immortality had them completey shook.

But in order to live longer they needed to be stronger in return. Equivalent exchange. Then they noticed the inconceivable principle of centuries past that willed them to this point, evolution. They thought that at sustained growth they no longer had the ability to evolve this was their peak. But how wrong they were as it was now changing from person to person.

Centuries later the story was passed down of how they got to this point they didnt know where it came from or how the changes happened from the asteroid. They wanted to venture out futher and to find out where this power came from. They went from planet to planet in their solar sytem until they planted a flag that had a black background with a blue sphere with some green patches on that sphere on every planet they could.

Some could only go to other certain planets such as gaseous ones. Or the ones that were really hot or really cold. Some were able to go to every planet whileas the ones that could not go to any created suits that gave them the ability to barely survive on all the planets. With the new resources and power from the people they muliplied like one of the soft long eared species on the original planet. They reached every corner of their solar system, met with the object they had sent out centuries past, and established society on every planet. With their new technology and power they felt they could do anything emotions were very high, varying across the spectrum of fear and excitement.

Over time the momentum of expansion had settled, as more beings were born on other planets they noticed that they too evolved differently than their originators with their bodily forms mimicking that of their birth planets. Yet they were still of human shape and their psyche had not differed much than other humans it just varied from person to person. Eventually politics came back, yet they did not allow themselves to war over each other as there is no bad groups just bad people. But in order to become stronger they needed to temper themselves against each other so there was plenty of infighting region to region as they only fought politically.

It should either be this way, or no it is better this way, they found out that there was no way to escape this parodoxical conundrum but it was better that the masses only chose one of the two sides instead of creating their own, but that does not mean that people did not create their own faction. There was still feelings of superiority that came back that differed from planet to planet but they never forgot where they came from.

There was still sports, and fighting sports became the top sellers of entertainment. In the beginning it was still super dangerous but over time they created safe gaps. They used their technology to created collars that they called opossuminators, the name mimicking another species from the original planet that when they felt their life was in danger their being was immediately pulled back. It was not omnipotent as it could only transfer or teleport mass a short distance away usually in the same building. This was known as tapping out or T.O. but there was still K.O. or knockouts that were allowed as some did not know the danger that they faced and belived as such that they were not facing danger of their life.

Their being would then teleport out of the way and with the advancements of healing they were soon ready for the next match. There was still some unlucky souls that got injured or sometimes worse case scenarios they lost their life but they knew what they were in for. Of the 9 planets in the solar system the fighters of entertainment took refuge on planet number 4 or the fourth planet away from their star, the same planet that militaries took refuge as there was still need of them to protect and enforce the rules of the masses.

There was still planet militaries on each of their own planet but this one is where they all congregated. And the entire race usually watched from afar or sometimes theyd come in person to see for themselves. There was many tiers of fighters with the novices being on tier 1. Besides planet number 4, the other 9 planets also had their subset of uses.

Planet number 1 was really hot and had the third lowest number of inhabitants. The inhabitants usually had the abilites of explosive sudden power as this was the best planet to temper themselves. planet number 2 was the most similar to planet number 3 but the conditions was still sub par and seemed as the primordial form of planet number 3. It was in the process of terraforming to mimic planet number 3 and had the second most number of inhabitants.

Planet number 3 was the home of the originators where the asteroid once threatened. It had the best quality of life and by far had the most number of inhabitants. Planet number 4 had the third most inhabitants. Planet number 5 had the second lowest of inhabitants as it was too large and conditions of living was no worse than planet number 1 or 9. But there was a big storm that always happened on that planet that the military officials found out that they could weaponize and this could be one of their many trump cards.

Planet number 6 was the most beautiful and had the 4th highest population. With planets number 7 and 8 around the same number of inhabitants but it was very much colder than the planets before but it was still more comfortable to live than planets number 1,5, and 9. Planet number 9 had the lowest number as it was almost unbearably cold but this was where expeditionary forces lay in case of the extreme of the unknown.

This is the story of humans on earth in their expansion of the solar system and universe and their curse of curiosity!
