48 CH 48: Wolf vs Dragon

'I can stay up here and shot all I want but it won't make a difference. But then again, I'm not afraid to get my hands dirty.'

Since magecraft did not work and he did not want to use his new noble phantasms, Jason decided to test out his new dragonic abilities.

Jason's body began to shift. His body bulged and got more muscular before it began to shift into a draconic form with a snout, tail, wings, and scales. His nails had become sharp claws as well. He had also grown two small horns on the top of his head.

Jason's draconic form was similar in color to Ibuki Douji. Most of his scales were the same grey-purple as her skin while the scales between his chin and his torso were dark grey in color.

He recalled Kusanagi into his body while the Ring of Solomon became a bracer around his right arm while the Kundala seemed to just attach themselves to each side of his head.

Jason felt the power coursing through his body in his dragon-man form. He even added mana burst to his body and it felt like he was almost made of pure mana and power at the moment.

Jason let out the roar of a dragon before he descended from the sky and charged directly at Hyde. Seeing that Jason was charging at him, the lycan launched itself directly at Jason and the pair clashed in the air. Jason retracted his wings as soon as they did so he would not have to worry about them getting injured.

The pair of half men, half beasts, fell to the ground while tussling with each other. Hyde was had less control of his mind due to [Mad Enhanchment] so he was fighting much more wildly than Jason in their combat.

Jason was still too tame in comparison and couldn't bring out his full potential at the range they were fighting. Even still, he did not let Hyde do whatever he wanted.

As the scales were torn from Jason's body and ripped into his muscles, Jason cut into Hyde's body and ripped through the fur and muscles. The pair truly looked like savage animals as they engaged in combat like that. They had even started biting each other. But the fight slowly started going to Hyde.

Achilles and Anastasia watched from the side with amazement in their eyes. Even though Jason was on the losing end, the fact that he had not been mauled by Berserker immediately proved his dragon-man form's strength.

Hyde Berserker was someone even Achilles did not wish to fight with his immortal body. Although Hyde could not hurt Achilles, he was like a dog with a bone when he got into combat with someone and would not let them go.

The only beings that could truly deal with Hyde were those with great healing factors, high defense, or attacks that could kill it swiftly before it had the chance to heal and improve with his [Restructuring] skill.

Jason felt that he was losing and was not sure how he could win the battle without using any more of his abilities. His dragon-man form was slowly accumulating injuries while Hyde was just getting more and more powerful with each blow. He had even taken some of Jason's scales and turned them into his claws to increase his cutting power.

'Ugh. Looks like I need to use something else if I wanna win. Not sure about my dragon lord form so guess that means my Noble Phantasms. Guess I can test the limits of one of my Noble Phantasms.'

"Achilles... ugh you bastard... get Anastasia and Jekyll in the air and a bit far unless you wanna get caught up in this attack."

Achilles did not need to be told twice before he wrapped his arm around Anastasia and grabbed Jekyll by his collar before he took both aboard his chariot before the trio flew high into the sky.

Seeing that they were clear, Jason used mana burst on his hands and used his palms to strike Hyde in the chest. This pushed Hyde back by about 20 meters but he soon recovered. Jason used that chance to sprout his wings and fly into the air.

He looked down on Hyde and felt grateful to Hyde for giving him such a good challenge.

'You were good. But you're way too wild and need to be put down.'

As if sensing the danger, Hyde stopped looking at Jason and tried to run away from the battle. But on the large continent made of ice, Hyde had nowhere to hide from what was coming.

"Brahmastra: O' Brahma, Cover the Earth. Burn them all till not even ashes remain."

After speaking the words, a large amount of prana gathered around Jason before it entered into his left eye. He closed his left eye and opened the right one before unleashing a bright red beam of energy toward Hyde.

The beam collided directly with Hyde but it did not incinerate him at first. Instead, it was like it had a concussive force and forced Hyde a few meters into the ground before a loud explosion of divine heat was released.

The explosion covered serval thousand kilometers wide and several hundred high. While Jason was fine since it was his own attack, the heat was so much that even the trio who retreated fell back in order to not feel the burn of the attack.

Jason could not see anything due to all the steam that was produced. But if he could see through it, he would see the large crater that his attack had created.

Jason felt half of the Assassin card being filled and knew that Hyde had been defeated but his mind was not on that. Instead, he felt impressed that he was able to release such an attack.

"Yo, boss! I think we should leave before anyone else shows up!"

Jason could not help but agree and flew to land on Achilles' chariot before the group flew north at the fastest speed that the chariot could muster. And luckily they did. Soon after they left, several men and women in various costumes arrived on the scene.
