44 CH 44: 3 Treasures

Ruler stayed on the side and just watched them battle as he waited for good news from his pair of servants.

Both girls were battling spectacularly and even drawing a crowd. Both Neo and mutants alike were gathered to see them.

Most mutants, even the Genoshan fighters, did not fight with the intensity as the Neo did unless they had healing factors.

Neo battled as if their lives were on the line and there had even been cases of some Neo dying or being crippled due to duels or training.

The injuries on each of the young women increased slowly until the point that both had severe injuries on their bodies. Ruler took that as his cue to interfere since they did not know when their next task would be or when their supervisors would call on them.

A pair of blue lotuses appeared behind Ruler before he fired several prana bolts in between the pair which caused both of them to pause. They looked at Ruler with some unwillingness in their eyes before understanding why he did it and walking away.

All the others who were enjoying the battle gave Ruler the stink eye before going off to do whatever they had planned for their afternoon.

Ruler grabbed a bite to eat before he made his way back to his room to patiently wait for Achilles and Anastasia to return.

After another hour, the pair were back with Anastasia carrying 3 items in her arms. When Ruler tried to take the items from her, she had a reluctant look on her face and even pulled back when Ruler tried to remove them from her arms.

After a bit of pulling back and forth between the pair, Ruler was finally able to get the items before he set them down on his bed to examine them.

Of the 3 items, all of them looked old, rotten, and pretty much destroyed. Ruler must have shown a look on his face because Anastasia was quick to rebuff him.

"Don't look down on them just because of their appearance. They need prana injected into them as well as to be contracted with an owner before they show their true form."

Ruler revealed an enlightened expression on his face as he looked at the 3 items in a new light.

On the left was a grey, stone sword that had many cracks in it while the blade seemed dull. It had symmetrical jagged curves along both sides and did not seem to have a typical sword guard.

The object on the left was a pair of large, hoop earrings. They seemed to have once been a mixture of red and gold but both of the colors had faded so they looked rusty and old now.

The final object in the center was a small ring. It had no jewel in it but instead a surface that had an intricate design carved into it. But due to the passage of time, the design had degraded and it was almost impossible to tell what it once was.

"Out of the 6 items we searched for, we could only find these 3 but each of them is definitely a divine construct although we are not sure what they do since they are not part of our history.

We also felt some residual mana from items that had been around these as well. While most seemed like mystic codes, there were traces of divine constructs and conceptual weapons as well."

Hearing this, Ruler was not surprised. Each of the items he asked the others to search for were legendary items that were each said to be wielded by, or given to humans by, deities. They most likely would have interacted with other similar items or at least magi who could use power items.

Even if the magi or magic users of this world did not know what they were for, many would still collect such objects due to the legends around them as would normal humans.

Divine constructs were weapons created by the gods. Examples of these would be things like Poseidon's Trident or Gugnir wielded by Odin. Many demi-gods or heroes of legends also received divine constructs to use in their quests such as Achilles' shield.

Conceptual weapons were items that do not follow normal laws and break concepts. An example would be Gae Bolg the legendary weapon of Cú Chulainn. It was a weapon that could reverse cause and effect itself.

Mystic Codes were any items that had magical properties or use. These were used by modern mages and ancient mages and had the largest number of differences. They could range from being as useful as a normal sword to being on par with divine constructs.

Most Noble Phantasms were considered as one of these 3 types. In fact, an object could also be a mixture of two or even all 3 of the types of items.

As for the 3 items that his servants had brought back, all 3 were divine constructs, two were mystic codes, and one might even be considered a conceptual weapon.
