Calmness is underrated

Nadia waited in the small coffee shop around the corner from the school. It was their first meet and he was already an hour late. Nadia grew impatient and almost considered calling him to give him an earful. Just when she decided to give up, she saw him slowly approaching the shop in his Mercedes. Ever since her school mates got licences, the school parking area was a living hell. Everywhere she went she could hear the cars honking and speeding out of control. Especially Jason and his gang. Nevertheless, she kept her cool, thinking he had an emergency.

Jason entered the shop and came sat on the opposite chair without so much of an explanation or apology. Instead he looked around searching for a waiter. " Why didn't you order us some coffee, you know , just to keep us going?"

Nadia balled her fingers into fist and breathed slowly. " Why are you late?"

"Me? Oh, just had some stuff to do."

"What stuff?" "Some stuff."

"Why did you not at least text me about this "stuff"? Did you think that it would be ok if you just walked in here an hour late ? And asking me to order coffee? " Nadia could hear her voice taking a high pitch. She stopped before she could turn ultrasonic. She glared at the person sitting before her. She was disgusted.

Jason held up his hands in a mock defeat. "Fine. You win. I will be on time from now".

"You better. " Nadia said with a huff and sat down. She didn't remember standing up.

" Can I have my coffee now?"

She rolled her eyes and signaled the waiter to take their order. The rest of the evening passed without any incident. They had disagreement about the topic and finally decided to blend their ideas together.

Nadia checked her watch and got up to leave. They decided to meet up the next day, same place and time.
