1. The Reunion

It was a day like any other school day...

First comes the teacher's introductions and just like last year they give us a ton of homework on the very first day. Although I never liked working hard, I did them all in one night.

Next morning many of my classmates were surrounding Joseph, my close friend from 3rd grade, asking him how he's gonna ask the girl he likes to go out with him. Right after classes were dismissed Joseph came to me and asked,"Hey Chris, you told the girl you like to go out with you before she left a year later right?". I said "You mean Anne? Yeah I did, why do you ask?". Joseph asked me if I would give him advice on how to confess properly and I told him "You just gotta be yourself man, don't pretend to be someone you're not!".

So we went to the place where they were supposed to meet and for some reason they chose to meet behind the abandoned school building. As we approached a corner Joseph shouted "Hey Stella, I'm here!". Then I saw the girl he wanted to go out with, Stella . I suprisingly these words came out of my mouth "Wait Stella? As in Stella Crawford?". I can't believe the girl standing in front of me was the same girl who was with me everytime until 2nd grade.

We kept quiet until Joseph finally asked"Hey you guys know each other?". We both answered "Yeah we've been friends since kindergarten.". "Oh your childhood friends, I see so there is no need to introduce Chris now right?". "Yeah its fine-by the way Stella, Joseph has something to tell you." I answered. "Really what is it?" Stella asks all excited. Joseph mumbles these words put "Uhhh... you see I really liked you and we are close friends for almost 3 years and uhhh..." Joseph then leaves us as he runs toward the main gate.

I ended up walking with Stella home since her house is so close to mine.

"So Chris how ya been?" Stella asks me as I reach for my key. "Well same old same old nothing new at all just more studying and homework" I replied. "Not that, I mean between you and Anne." she asks me agrily. "Hey calm down what are you getting so worked up about? Anne left for High school in her hometown since she is short on money." I answered. "What about you Stella? Last time I saw you was behind the bulletin board with your ex but don't worry I remember our first kiss and the all the time we lost...". I said closing the door. After an interesting day at school I thought to myself "What if I didn't tell Anne I wanted to go out with her and just went with Stella, or maybe I'm overthinking it just because Anne left.".
