5 Fang Yun

In the eastern regions of the Azure Sky Continent, Alex's soul had reincarnated into the body of a infant without him even noticing. After being cleansed by the Rivers of Reincarnation, although his memories hadn't been erased, they were still sealed by its streams of spiritual energy that tried to wipe out the memories embedded into his soul!

Although Alex deduced he had escaped the Rivers of Reincarnation, he could not have been more wrong. The Rivers of Reincarnation altered his soul and threw him into the Azure Sky Continent without him even having a chance to realise that he had been forced into unconsciousness.

'Where... am I?' Alex thought as he felt like his head had been put in a blender.

To him, it was as if he had nodded off for a second and was woken up by a searing pain due to a deep wound on his chest. The sensation he felt was a little like what's called 'teleportation'.

"Young master..." A faint cry entered his ears, causing him to open his eyes.

His nose twitched as a familiar scent entered his sinuses. The first thing he saw with his eyes was a young servant bleeding on the floor, the youth's eyes seemed unwilling to accept death.

Alex recognised the youth but his memories were quite jumbled up. He wasn't able to connect the dots due to how scattered his thoughts were yet he intuitively knew the youth before him was an ally and not an enemy.

'I have to survive!' This was his first thought as he felt his blood seeping out of the would on his chest. His body felt weakness due to the loss of blood but he was still able to will himself to stand up in order find a way to survive.

He used his willpower alone to lift himself towards the nearest desk and took out a thin string and small needle from inside a draw. It was after analysing his wound did he stitch his flesh together to stop the bleeding.

Although the entire process was extremely painful, he wasn't really that bothered since he had experienced pain far worse than this in his long life.

No, perhaps it was more accurate to say his 'past life'. Alex dragged himself towards the youth in eastern-looking clothing and also stitched his wound.

"Argh..!" The youth cried in pain.

Alex forcefully stopped the youth's bleeding by stitching together his skin.

Unlike Alex who was somehow lucky enough to have avoided any damage to his internal organs. The young servant that lay dying next to him had a wound on one of his lungs. Alex's surgical skills weren't comparable to an actual doctor's but he knew how to stitch together wounds really well.

Even though the process was even more painful than getting stabbed and wasn't a permanent solution, he was still able to temporarily prolong their lives by stopping the wounds inflicted onto their chests from bleeding out.

Only after finishing the surgery did he allow himself to calm down, his eyes seemed to comprehend something as the memories of his current life were digested by the ones of his past life.

This mix of memories caused him to temporary go into an identity crisis.

It was only after a long moment did he clear his mind and choose his identity.

"It's a good thing that crazy b*tch had such a feminine hobby, or else we'd have died by her sword." Alex spoke towards the youth on the ground.

Seeing that his young master was able to temporarily save their lives, the young servant smiled and could only respond by nodding his head. He sighed in relief as there was now at least a glimmer of hope to survive.

"Young mast-" Just as he was about to speak, Alex stopped him with a gesture.

The youth was his best friend, so he didn't want him to open the wound on his lung by talking. His stitching skill may be exquisite enough to stop a man from bleeding to death but wasn't able to hold the wound together for long.

Since the youth didn't look like he was willing to listen, Alex was forced to incapacitate him by pressing his acupuncture points, stopping the youth's bleeding while also knocking him unconscious at the same time.

"I'll get revenge for us later. We have to survive for now." His voice was as chilling as the Antarctic winds while his eyes released endless killing intent. To be ambushed and almost murdered in his own home really made him angry.

From what he could remember, the identity he has now is Fang Yun, also known as the grandson of the Fang Clan's Grand Elder. In this world of mortals and cultivators, he could be considered the most ordinary person in the Fang Clan due to his lack of Spiritual Channels used to cultivate Qi.

The Fang Clan is a respected household that has given birth to many Immortal Cultivators and have always married their sons and daughters to Cultivators of other families to keep their bloodline pure. However, Fang Yun's father was insistent on marrying a mortal woman from a regular household of Blazing Sun City and disappeared exactly one year after his son had been born.

Fang Yun's mother had been murdered in cold blood by an unknown assailant and it was said that his father left the Fang Clan in order to search for her killer. Fast forwarding to his current circumstances: Alex, now known as Fang Yun, was just a day away from marrying his childhood friend.

The girl named Chu Rinyu was a warm-hearted girl who grew up with him. She was the only one who didn't disdain his presence despite his lack of Spiritual Channels. Her talent in cultivation was immeasurably strong considering how she was able to break through the 9 Levels of the Nescent Forging stage and cross into the Internal Root stage a few days ago. Since then, the amount of people trying to stop their marriage increased several folds until it reached the stage right now, a stage where there are those who want to assassinate him.

As Chu Rinyu's status was elevated in the eyes of the many, Fang Yun's own status began to plummet in the eyes of many more. In just a few hours after her advancement, the rather inconspicuous Young Master Fang suddenly gained a reputation of a popinjay due to someone's scheme.

He didn't know who this hidden enemy was, nor how powerful the person's background is but Fang Yun knew he wouldn't have been able to do the same even with his grandfather's support.

After remembering everything, Fang Yun noticed his whole mentality had undergone a serious change. While he was a timid person before somehow remembering the origins of his soul, he now felt confidence brewing from the bottom of of his heart that he will naturally be able to kill all his foes.

After he unconsciously sat down to meditate, he realised that all his memories regarding his past life were still there. Although his physique was weaker than it was in his prime on Earth, it was still physically stronger than most others at the same age. The training the previous timid Fang Yun did to train his physique paid off as it was only due to his strong body that he even had a chance to survive.

'Well, even if I do remember my past life, I'm still Fang Yun. In fact, I'm the new and improved Fang Yun.' He thought to himself as realised that even though the shock of almost dying had awoken his memories, it didn't change the fact that he was still a genuine Mortal without Spiritual Channels.

When he thought of the potential of Spiritual Qi and the humans of this continent were able to 'cultivate' until they became the eastern version of Immortals, his heart skipped a beat.

In Fang Yun's past life, he didn't believe in anything called a Dao and created external martial arts that were suitable for him who wanted to live a stable life without conflict. However, in this world where only the strong were able to control their fate, his mindset changed dramatically. The people of the Azure Sky Continent weren't like the people of Earth. Those of the Azure Sky Continent weren't restricted by rules and there were none who'd seek justice for him if he was to be killed.

After Alex and the former Fang Yun's mentality merged, he was even more aware that he would just be pushed around if he didn't have strength.

In his life as Alex, he was forced to kill his friends due to not being able to resist his captors, and in his life as Fang Yun, he was almost killed due to not having the strength to resist the assassin planted by his hidden foes.

When he glanced at his friend who was still unconscious on the floor, he started to feel that his previous incarnation was too naive. The Harmonic Dragon's Angelic Halo was too weak in this world full of Cultivators who could easily smash rocks into dust with their bare hands.

If he didn't have a hidden armour under his clothes that took some of the power away from the sword beam that hit his chest, he would have instantly died by having his entire body bisected.

Since their assailant had already escaped locked the door behind her, he realised that it would perhaps take a day or two for other people to find them. If no one was able to find this place by tomorrow morning, he would be unable to attend his own wedding.

Alex may have stopped killing people in his past life, but that was only due to the fact that no one had any intention of offending a grandmaster martial artist who was formerly known as Blood Shadow of the Battlefields.

Since someone was stupid enough to try and kill him and those he considered his family, they better be prepared for his retaliation. He's never been a pacifist by nature after all...

He took out a pill from a bottle his pocket and swallowed it whole. As the grandson of a Grand Elder, it wasn't that surprising that he'd at least keep a Flesh Healing Pill with him at all times.

Miraculously, the wound on his chest started to heal at a pace that would shock even the most well-learned doctor originating from Earth. The medicines refined on the Azure Sky Continent were magical when compared to the ones made on Earth due to the fact that all the plants used to refine them usually contained Qi.

As soon as the pill took it affects, he opened the youth's mouth and threw a pill down his throat. Only when he was sure that his childhood friend wouldn't die did he decide to pursue the woman who almost succeeded in killing them.

He was sure she hadn't gone too far as it would take some procedures to leave the Fang Clan. The servants of the household weren't allowed to just come and go from the Clan as they pleased.

As he checked the door to see if he could break the lock, he once again felt that the world he now lives in really wasn't as advanced as his previous one.

There was an old lock on the other side of the door instead of there being a more advanced lock under the door handle. Although he would have easily been able to break down the door in his previous life, the him of right now hadn't trained in handling Hidden Strength yet, so their was no way for him to break down the door without harming himself in the process.

As he thought of a new plan of action to minimise any more injuries to his partially healed chest, his eyes flashed as he remembered the discovery he found at the Rivers of Reincarnation.

'This world is strange... or should I say my original world was 'strange'?' He thought to himself as he realised that not only did he have Chakra, but the young servant named Lou Meng also had Chakra in his body as well. The energy was still as incorporeal as ever but after inwardly referring to the Chaotic Dragon's Demonic Horn style regarding the practical uses of the energy, he decided to release it outside his physical body. The training he did in the void paid off as he found that he was able to 'sense' the old lock on the other side of the door without his eyes.

Not only could he 'feel' the lock's existence, he could even measure what size it was and how it internally operates. As soon as he found a way to leave, his body acted on its own and smacked the door few times while controlling the strength of each impact.

After a few moments, the old lock on the other side of the door fell off and he was able to easily leave the room.

Fang Yun looked around and saw that no one was anywhere near the room he had been trapped in. He now knew why the old servant liked to live quietly in the farthest corner of his residence, so this was that b*tch's plan all along!

His mind raced as he sprinted towards the nearest guards within his residence.

"Young master...? W-What happened to you!?" The face of one guard who was patrolling the corridors face paled as he rushed over to help. He knew very well how the clan's Grand Elder would skin him alive if anything was to happen to their young master. His yell alerted the other guards of the residence who rushed over as well.

"Go capture that old servant who lived here! Go now!" He ordered the guards with a vigour they had never seen before. This was the first time the guards felt that if they failed to produce any results, things wouldn't end well for any them. Only after realising that their young master's injury wasn't critical did they hunt down the old servant with murderous eyes.

The dozen of guards were not just there for show, with just a few steps, they disappeared out of the residence.
