19 Colourless Blood

Fang Yun couldn't help but fall into a daze after seeing Bai Lingyun's arm. A Martial Artist didn't have the same amount of recourses a Psychic Mage would have and their Martial Dao required them to do self-torturing training just to improve their Physique Force. He completely understood her bias thoughts towards Psychic Mages because they practically 'cheat' by using rare treasures only clans formed by those above the Core Formation stage.

Although he wasn't worried about how difficult it would be for him to reach the Heaven Combatant level of martial arts, he was still against mutating his body the same way Bai Lingyun did. He wasn't interested in staying in the ranks of Mortals forever and didn't want to become a Dao Seeking Martial Artist who had nearly no chance of becoming on par with Cultivators.

Dao Seeking Martial Artists and Heaven Combating Martial Artists were worth studying, but he didn't want centre his life around them. His goals were different from the white-masked woman, who only wanted to pass on her martial arts to her successor. His ambition was extremely high and his confidence wasn't something people who hadn't reincarnated before would understand.

Well... that was the biggest issue he had towards working towards becoming a Dao Seeking Martial Artist. The smaller issue he had was that Chu Rinyu and her Sect might not accept him if he was to come to them as an abomination that looked like he was made of steel. A slight arrogance birthed in his heart as he believed himself to be above others.

He had trained his martial arts in the void between realms and EARNED his reincarnation! Even though he was merely a sixteen year old youth, his exceptional mastery in the Medical Dao and unfathomable Martial Dao was definitely something that was rarely seen on the entire continent.

If other Martial Artists of the Azure Sky Continent were able to break their Heavenly Restriction and become geniuses among Cultivators, then why couldn't he? He was unwilling to waste his life away so someone else could fulfil the dream nor was he interested in the rewards the Martial Alliance had for Heaven Combatants that wanted to 'sell' their personal Dao Inheritances.

As Bai Lingyun was searching the Psychic Mages corpse and took anything valuable Han Fenglin had on him, Fang Yun snapped out of daze and walked up to her. Bai Lingyun sighed with a hint of disappointment as she watched him arrive so casually. She didn't think he'd actually abandon her and not help when she was in danger.

"I want his chain weapon and the Colourless Blood you spoke of. The rest of his belongings are yours." Fang Yun didn't even try to hide his intentions as he spoke about splitting the loot. Bai Lingyun expression darkened as she stared at him angrily, not showing any intention of splitting what she earned.

"Don't look at me like that. I DID save you from being assassinated back in that Inn. Think of this as repaying me for saving you and settling the karma between us." Fang Yun opened his palm towards her as he spoke with greed in his eyes. Spiritual Medicines could be summed up into three categories called the Human Grade, Earth Grade, and Heaven Grade.

Human Grade Spiritual Medicines were for those below the Core Formation stage whilst Earth Grade Spiritual Medicines were for those above the realm of mortals. The last category named the Heaven Grade among Spiritual Medicines were legendary elixirs known only as the most rare and precious Spiritual Medicines that exist on the continent.

However, even with that being said, a Spiritual Medicine that was an exception to this rule is the Special Level Heaven Grade Spiritual Medicine known as the Colourless Blood. From what Bai Lingyun told him, the Martial Alliance she was part of actually gave this Spiritual Medicine for free to any of the Dao Seeking Martial Artists that joined them. He wasn't sure why Colourless Blood seemed so common despite being a Heaven Grade Spiritual Medicine but he knew he really needed it in order to improve the hybrid cultivation technique he was creating.

The usefulness of Colourless Blood depended on the user because it only had two effects. The first one was to take in a Martial Artist's Four Forces so that it can nurture a copy of their body and insights whilst the second one was to share the Dao inside as inheritance.

Those of the same bloodline as the one who nurtured the Colourless Blood would be able to fuse with it and take in the power nurtured within. It was too bad that the Spiritual Medicine only worked on Mortals since Cultivators could have used it to do the same thing.

Bai Lingyun looked at the vial of Colourless Blood she extracted from Han Fenglin's corpse and hesitated a little. Although Colourless Blood had no use for Cultivators, it was practically a godly elixir for mortals due to its ability to act as a second body that also had four fundamental internal forces. A Psychic Mage or Martial Artist would be able to use the Colourless Blood within them as a place to store energy to use as reserves if they got exhausted.

The reason she wanted to keep Han Fenglin's Colourless Blood was because she could give it to her children who were practicing her martial arts at her home far in the east. She was only able to pass her own Colourless Blood onto one of inheritor and could only accept that her other children would live as mortals if she didn't get the Colourless Blood of other similar Dao Seekers.

"Your right about saving me from dying back then. However, I really need this vial. You can take this chain if you want a reward. Don't worry. We can make our way to the Martial Alliance later to get you your own personal Colourless Blood." Bai Lingyun threw Han Fenglin's weapon of choice to Fang Yun before keeping the vial of Colourless Blood she extracted from her enemy's corpse. To her, this matter wasn't up for debate as a Colourless Blood containing the Dao of Shadow was just too precious for her to let go of.

The surrounding Cultivators didn't quite understand what the vial was but those who did looked at the two with anticipation as they didn't know they'd get to watch another fight between Martial Artists so soon. The tense atmosphere between the caused a few mercenaries to look at Fang Yun like he was some unfortunate flower boy who was being mistreated by an expert. It wasn't surprising that most of them believed he had no chance against her.

Fang Yun caught the chain she threw before looking at her with unwillingness. The Martial Alliance was at least a year away from Blazing Sun City, and was located close to the Arctic Ocean Dragon Sect. This is why he needed Han Fenglin's Colourless Blood, he didn't have the time to travel so far and wasn't about to give up on the gains right in front of him.

Bai Lingyun didn't care about what his opinion of the matter was since she now wasn't even willing to let him become part of the Hunting Team she promised to form. His actions really made her lose faith in him despite how he initially saved her life. She wasn't someone who didn't remember favours and decided that she would compensate Fang Yun with something else. No matter what other valuable treasure Fang Yun asked for, she would definitely repay him for his help.

After taking everything else that was of value on Han Fenglin's corpse, she turned him to dust using her Ice Ki. It was then that she decided to leave Fang Yun so they could talk later. She didn't want to fall out with him over the vial.

"Stop." Fang Yun called out to her, but she didn't stop. Bai Lingyun wasn't aware of Fang Yun's reason for wanting the vial of Colourless Blood nor did she know just how desperate he was to obtain it. This misunderstanding led her to believe that Fang Yun was a self-centred individual who only cared about himself. She didn't have hatred for him, but that didn't mean she liked interacting with such kinds of people.

Fang Yun felt a fire in his heart as he watched her leave. Perhaps one could say that love made one blind, or that his obsession for Chu Rinyu was too deep. He wasn't willing to let anything stand in the way of their marriage. Bai Lingyun's decision to ignore him made him uncharacteristically lose his calm mindset as his eyes radiated fighting spirit! He took his shoes off and walked on the grass barefoot with the chain she gave him hanging on his arm, the Medical-Kit he held moments ago attached to a belt he had on his waist.

"I said... STOP!" With a roar that seemed to penetrate the hearts of the crowd that watched as an audience, he masterfully whipped his chain towards her and grabbed onto her arm. Bai Lingyun could feel the ferocity of his Aura and was dumbfounded towards just how unbelievably strong it was.

Even though she was infinitely close to the Perfection realm of her Physique Force and Heart Force, she couldn't believe that a 'kid' like Fang Yun was able to pressure her with his Aura alone. The amount of Aura he exuded would definitely be able to cause an ordinary mortal to be knocked out, but a Dao Seeking Martial Artist like her couldn't be considered 'ordinary'.

With her own Ice Aura, she froze the massive 'flame' of his fluxing Aura and was even able to overpower him in this initial confrontation. Having reached the Perfection realm of Heart Force, he obtained many benefits. However, Bai Lingyun's inherited Ice Heart wasn't something plain Aura alone can fight.

She didn't care why Fang Yun wanted the Colourless Blood badly enough to desperately try to pressure her, because in her opinion: This action of his was a sign of disrespect among Dao Seeking Martial Artists. She definitely had to teach him a lesson to respect his elders!

Fang Yun wasn't expecting his Aura would be so easily dispersed and tried to talk it out with her, but was interrupted by her retaliation. He felt his whole arm turning into a block of ice as Bai Lingyun used the chain itself as a medium to inject Ice Ki into him.

Fang Yun reflexively fought back using his own Ki. Although his Dao of Metal was already fused with the Ki in his meridians, the hint of the Dao of Metal he was merged with wasn't enough to put him on par with Bai Lingyun's Dao of Ice. He could only waste truckloads of Ki just to make it so he wouldn't be injured by the Ice Ki he was injected with. The battle of attrition they made didn't last long as she closed in on him.

Bai Lingyun attacked with her glove-covered palms as she exchanged fists with him. Fang Yun actually felt grateful for this since he strongly believed that close-combat was his domain! His parried her attacks before they could hit his body with his wrists and perfectly landed a few hit on her.

Bai Lingyun also wasn't losing out in their exchange as she aimed to beat him to a bloody pulp. With each hit on Fang Yun's body, she was able to use her Ice Ki to slow down his movements despite how powerful it was. She was able to suppress him in close-combat for a while because of this, but as time move on, he seemed to 'adapt' to her fists. His mastery over Chain Arts was even more profound and intricate than Han Fenglin's due to how he was able to manipulate the chains at close range.

Bai Lingyun noticed that his moves actually became sharper over time as they aimed at the meridian points all over her body. For the first time in her life, she truly believed that geniuses existed in the world of martial arts. The kind of rhythm in Fang Yun's fighting style seemed to switched regularly as even she sometimes couldn't predict what was coming moments later. His senses were sharp as she wasn't able to trick him even once with a faint in their entire furious close-combat exchange.

They fought in close-combat for minutes before it turned into at least a few hours. Fang Yun wasn't able to gain the upper hand but his messy style of fighting seemed to grow more simpler and profound as time went on. Bai Lingyun was a little angered that Fang Yun was using her as a grindstone and used the trump card she secretly used on Han Fenglin in their Death Match.

With a burst of Ice Aura, her Ice Heart overbearingly froze over Fang Yun's Perfect Heart and gave her enough time to send him flying with a well-placed palm to his chin. He hit the ground head-on and wasn't even able to continue fighting afterwards after having his brain rattled by the impact.
