1 Chapter 1Can't stand it

The clocks ticking began to slow by every passing second. To me, it felt like an eternity. This school was always the same and never changed much, it is a dull life for me. The students are always praising my name and discarding others with weaker talents, it makes me sick. I look up at the clock. Still 5 minutes. That's far too much time to waste here. I could be at home reading my manga. This system isn't fair. Why is this compulsory? I mean everything I've learned, how will it be useful outside school? It's not relevant. Nothing about school is relevant. I look back up at the clock.

Tick

Tick

Now there is only 1 minute to go. I just want this to be over. I look around the classroom. It's easy due to my seat being in the last row of the class. The teacher gave me the seat by the window because of my "situation". Nothing about my life is fair. Nothing about this world is fair. The clock finally starts its final countdown.

Five

The bell finally rings. I gather my things and neatly place them in my bag in their proper order. Slinging my bag over my shoulder, I stand on my feet. All the students have left the room by now. Guess this is one of those peaceful days. What a relief. I turn to look out the window as something catches my eye. A girl gets pushed to the ground. The girl pushing her and her friends or " lackeys " are laughing at her. How cruel, the bystanders are just walking past. This makes me sick. This isn't right. This world isn't right. The lackeys turn and flee as the girl stands up looking down. I felt a sick feeling in my stomach. I feel bad for her. If only this world was fair. I turn away from the window and walk out of the classroom heading my way home.

Chapter two: The two opposites

Beep

Beep

Beep

I reach for the button and Wham! The beeping stops. Finally, It's quieter. If only I could lay here all day. The sharp image of the school pierces my mind. It's enough to give me a headache. Another pintless day at school awaits. Pulling the cover off me I get up out of bed hesitantly. Why has the world got so many pointless rules? Who came up with them? I sigh deeply as I reach for my closet door.

Creak

The door opens and inside is my uniform. It's a rather well-made uniform. Why do people of social status and wealth have to flash it? I mean I come from a rich family, and I still don't get it. I get dressed and head for school.

Tap

Tap

Around me the footsteps of hurried students afraid of being late to school rush by me. How did this world come with these standards? I'm right at the school gate. It's not that far to homeroom. Why hurry? It's not like the school is going anywhere. I walk through the school gate. Yep school isn't going anywhere. Every morning I walk the same path to my classroom. I don't like to be noticed because of my situation so I generally walk down the side of my school to the back entrance. The back gate of the school is always locked so it's my only option. I've always wondered the reason why they lock the back gate. Maybe one day I will know? I turn the corner towards the back entrance to the school. Generally, no one uses it which is perfect for the situation I'm in. At least the school has one benefit. It's easy to find solace. Around the corner, loud shouting and a crash could be heard.

" What is the matter, are you frightened? Get Up! " ( Girl )

It's the girls from yesterday. On the ground crying is the girl from yesterday. The group is surrounding her. What is with people? What gives anyone the right to do this? I get the sick feeling in my stomach again. I continue walking towards the door. What can I do to help her?

" Look around you. Commoners like you shouldn't be allowed in a place like this. You are nothing and have no talent. You deserve to be like this. You deserve to beneath us at our feet. Don't you agree? " ( Girl )

The girl slowly opens her mouth to say something. I've reached the door and have opened it halfway about to walk inside.

" You do agree, right? " ( Girl )

" I agr " ( ??? )

This is wrong. This world is unjust. This isn't right. How is this happening? How is this getting overlooked?

" I agre " ( ??? )

"She's not worthless! ( ??? )

The girl stops on her word and looks up to see me with my back turned towards her slamming the door closed.

" Say again " ( Girl )

" I said she isn't worthless. " ( ??? )

" Is that so. And who do you think you are? " ( Girl )

As much as I don't want to let people know my route, I have no choice. I turn my head around. The girl stops and looks at my face. A shocked look begins to appear.

" Kantaro! It's not what you think. I was just- " ( Girl )

" Save it, I don't care. Beat it " ( Kantaro )

The girls scurry away from the girl and run around the corner. I look at the girl. She looks at me. It's like our eyes make contact. I can feel her pain.

" They should leave you alone at least for now. Take care of yourself because you're not worthless. They only win when you give in so don't give in. " ( Kantaro )

I turn my head and go through the door and head to my next class. I feel kind of bad. Should I have stayed?

Chapter three: Kaito to the rescue

Just a few more seconds.

Ring

Finally. As the bell rings for break the students rise out of their seats almost in unison. For once I can agree with them. Nothing is better than a good meal, except maybe manga and sleep. Anything is better than this dump. As I grab my bag as I get up, I look out the window. The sky looks beautiful. The sakura trees are blooming and the birds are flying free. If only the world was that free. Will it ever be that free? Will I ever be able to be normal. I doubt it. My situation isn't helping. I push in my seat and walk to the door.

" Hey Kantaro, want to eat with us this break. " ( Female Student )

" Hey Kantaro, your awesome, want to chill out in the music room. " ( Female Student )

" Kantaro bro, my sister made you some lunch if you want to relax with her. " ( Bribed Brother )

I continue walking pushing past the big group of people. They all started to group around me and follow. What do they want? I get it that they think I'm amazing but why does that matter? I'm happy being alone. What about that don't these people get? From behind me, someone walks in front of the mob blocking them away from me.

" Woah, we all know Kantaro is busy. Give him some space, will you? " ( ??? )

He turns to walk with me. He is always there when I need him.

" Hey Kantaro, what's up bro. " ( ??? )

" Hey Kaito, nothing much, I'm just heading to my usual spot, want to join me? " ( Kantaro )

" I would if I could, but the student council needs me for something, so I've got to go there but another time. " ( Kaito )

" Ok, talk to you later man. " ( Kantaro )

Usually, I'm not as social but around Kaito it's different. He feels the same about the world. He also understands my situation. There will never be anybody like Kaito. I continue walking down the hall and head towards the back door. No students go there so it's the perfect place to chill in solace. As I walk out the door, I see her sitting down over there. What's she doing here? She turns to look at me and her eyes catch mine.

" Good you're here, I... I wanted to say thank you. " ( ??? )
