Luck's Past (6)

After a few moments, Luck felt a subtle improvement in his mood. As he stood there, his gaze fixed on the gentle flow of the river, his sadness began to fade away. The tranquil motion of the water seemed to mirror the ebbing of his troubles.

Lost in his thoughts, Luck was startled by a voice behind him. "Hi," a man greeted him.

Startled, Luck turned around to see the man standing there. Recognition dawned upon him. "Oji-san?" he exclaimed, realizing that the man before him was none other than Volta's father.

With genuine concern etched on his face, Volta's dad inquired, "What happened, Luck? You look so sad."

Taking a deep breath, Luck recounted the recent events at home. "I asked my mom about my dad, but she didn't say anything and became angry with me."
