5 Okay this time, it’s two girls and the academy

Good Lord! I woke up late!

*BANG! BANG! BANG!* The door was bombarded by a heavy knock, in fact, the proper word supposed to be, smashing or destroying the door!

"Oi Johnny Boy, We're late!!!" Yup, that was Sofia, my best pal (she said) and it seems both of us woke up late.

"Right, right! I'm coming!" I quickly washed my face with a cold water in a basin prepared by someone, because surely, last night this thing isn't here. But, I don't really care, cause I'm late.

I quickly took my school robe and opened the door, what I saw was Sofia has just washed her face and it seems she forgot to wipe her face. "Come on!" The two of us ran towards outside while running on the hallway, I threw my towel at her, "Use it." I said while wearing my robes.

"Thanks man." She smiled and wiped her face with my towel, and wow, what a good morning, she was still beautiful.

Sofia has a haggard look, her hair was unbraided and her silver hair was straight, it's length was about her waist, however, she still had some bed hair, somehow, I feel disturbed about it. I reached out and fixed her bed hair while wiping her face while we run.

She was startled, when I was finished, she finally threw my towel at me, 'Thanks again." However, this time, she said it faintly. Weird girl.

Anyway, I crumpled the towel into a ball, and shoot it on the chair in the hallway as we run outside the building. And guess what, Johnathan the guard has a frown look on his face while his arms crossed together.

I tell ya, this man wears a fancy hat and a black leather coat, with armor on his shoulder and a brown boots.

"You two are goddamn late. Like what? One and half-hours late? It is already 9:30 A.M!" He shouted angrily. Hehe, what a day to start in the academy.

"Tsk, lecturing you wouldn't affect you that much." Yup, you guess that right!

"Hehe, sorry." Sofia smiled with her tongue out while scratching her head, suddenly, one bed hair suddenly sprung up. And I'm disturbed to see that, I reach out my hand again to fix that however, Sofia quickly noticed it and slapped my hands off.

"Ow!"

"Don't get excited boy, no touching." She warned as her eyes glared with a cold glint, oh god, her eyes are scary! It's really like one of the feline demi-beasts that always want to maw me alive when I was young.

"Okay, two of you stop now. Come here and hold my coat, I'll teleport you guys, walking toward the academy would take an hour just to reach the second gate." Johnathan said.

Sweet! I thought and surely Sofia had thought of that.

Both Sofia and I excitedly grabbed Jonathan on his clothes, and then he took his dagger out on his waist. Soon, this dagger warped and turned into a long black stick, it is a mages weapon, a 'wand'!

"Hold tight. 'Aak Dreh Ahrodan'*" Johnathan motioned his wands and soon, the three of us was covered by green light.

Actually, I'm quite nervous… Huh?

I looked forward and saw Jhenica on the door in the building, she was holding the towel I threw and she was waving at us, and her mouth spoke; however due to our distance was quite far away, I could not hear her voice.

However, I'm pretty sure she said was "Don't Cry."

… Okay, that scared me, will something happen to us after we teleport or are we gonna die?

Soon, my vision went dark and that scared me! For a second, I thought I really died however, I am still awake, and oh boy, when I blinked my eyes, a monstrous academy appeared out of nowhere, and the color of the world had returned.

"Woah, that magic is sick!" Sofia's voice had entered my ears and look at her, she was incredibly excited and fascinated.

However, seeing this made Johnathan the guard had a smirk on his face and somehow, he is slowly rising his chest up… Well, I think he wants to be praised that much.

"This is a teleportation magic, you could only teleport in short distances around 10 km." Wow, short distances really? I'm sure that is already long distance. Anyway, I don't want to brag with him, so, I'll be quiet and be a good boy.

I can't let my first day awful right?

The three of us appeared in the middle of the entrance gate of the academy, above it, once again, there's a Latin words that I can't read or understand. And this time, there are ten guards guarding the gates, and down here I could see that in the towers on the wall of the Academy, there are at least two guards each tower.

It looked like a prison but hey, mages are strict to their rules and curfew is also tough here. Seeing them, I felt I couldn't escape in this academy even if I wanted to. I looked at my side and stared at Sofia, well, she seems to be shocked and amazed.

However, what amazes me is that there are many young mages like me going inside the academy, even here the gates is crowded by them. However, all of them wore sophomore robes and I could not see green robed students, like us freshman.

As we looked around, Johnathan looked at us and with a faint smile, he tapped our shoulders, "Well, I gotta say, good luck and try not to cry." He said, and again saying another spell, he vanished just like that.

"Uhh… What now?" Sofia looked at me expecting some answers.

"Don't ask me, I want to know too what to do." I smiled bitterly at her.

Shaking her head on disappointment, she sighed. It felt like she realized that she shouldn't expect at me, well, she shouldn't have expected something on me in the first place.

Well sorry was the words I was about to say to her, however, one of the guards had noticed us and shouted at us.

"You two, go get your arse inside! Move it!" His voice was so loud that made my head shook intensely, it was as if his voice was directed only at us.

Sofia and I complied and stiffly walked inside the academy, and oh boy, both of us are really nervous.

While the two us are walking, I looked around under the tunnel towards the campus of the academy and right, I could hear gossips, laughs, and mockery around us, well, I can't say that they are talking about us, but I know for sure that some are talking about us.

Many sophomores had noticed us and they had a gasped expression as if they had never seen two freshmen walking together, it was like, (Is this miracle?! Another two new freshmen!?)

I know right? It's weird that they had this expression. But understanding the fact that most years, there are few freshmen comes into this island and all of them can only be counted by hands. However, this year, almost fifty plus students had appeared, and I guess that is already a shocking thing to them.

Hm? Woah!

Once we got out from the tunnel, another stunning view had struck me hard.

There's an entire open green field inside the walls of this academy, and at the middle of that, there's a huge statue of a woman holding a wand and book, while above her head, there's a freaking huge crystal floating on her head and around her there are a fifteen small statues wielding their wands on their attack position.

It was magnificent, but the surrounding was already beautiful.

Towards that statue there's a road with vibrant flowerbeds on the side, there's also streets lights and benches. There's even a bird bath and also a drinking fountain! I love those things! When I was a beggar, I used fresh birdbath to wash my face and I could live near to drinking fountain due to the fact that the water that comes out is fresh and sweet.

Small trees had also arranged in a beautiful manner, oh god, I love to sleep underneath that!

Ah crap, I totally forgot something; I keep thinking a place to live in. And I guess living in this park is definitely bad. Darn it, that sucks!

Anyway, far away from us, there's a huge building, well, at least there are five floors and above that, in the middle there's another sixth floor. The building shape was inverted "U" facing towards us. It was built with white marbles and bricks making it spectacular.

On each side on this square plaza, there's another big hall or building and I guess it's a library because the titan door was open and on this position, I could see twenty feet tall bookshelves. Meanwhile on the other side, there's a small building, definitely, they are stores, café, and shops.

Well, this is it, this is what I see on this entrance of the academy, and I guess there's a lot more behind those buildings, I guess I'll explore later.

I looked at my side and saw Sofia with her face blushing; I guess she got attracted on the scenery with her hands covering her mouth. She's definitely a girl.

"Hm? Hey Magnus!" A familiar female voice called me, I looked back, and yep it's Valentina. She looked lovely and still beautiful as ever. She was smiling at me waving her hand at me.

Sofia seems to notice her and looked at her, however, I did not pay attention much to her expression right now, because suddenly, Valentina grabbed both my hands that shocked me, well you know, she's isn't used to touch a man.

"Remember what I said yesterday? You're going to choose and live in my place okay?" She said, and it seems using that word 'place' is definitely bad.

"WHAT!? Magnus, y-you." Sofia suddenly shouted in shock after hearing what Valentina had said and she looked at me with a betrayed look.

Okay, don't look at me like that, cause I feel bad!

Sofia pointed at Valentina shaking her forefinger at her, she wants to say something, but she kept looking at me and at Valentina left and right.

Valentina looked at her, and noticing that she was a freshman she gasped in shock, "Woah, another freshman? Hi! I'm Valentina Lancaster and I'm Magnus first friend on this island. Oh girl, you better choose my place to live in too!" At first, she waved her hands at Sofia when she introduced herself, and then she threw my hands on the side and quickly walked towards Sofia and grabbed both hands like the way she did to me and her eyes seem sparkling. But calling Sofia 'girl' is definitely not right.

Valentina is Ten, I'm Twelve and Sofia is Thirteen. Kinda weird, last time she called me junior and this time she called Sofia 'girl' as if she was older than us.

Sofia was still kinda shocked, with her eyes wide open and her mouth was gaped open. Well, definitely I would have the same expression when some crazy stranger girl suddenly invited you to her place to live in, like. Whaaat?

"R-right." Sofia nodded.

"Yeah! Suck on that dad! Who said I can't invite someone to my town." Valentina laughed and punched the air on the east.

Both Sofia and I had a dumbfounded expression seeing her like this.

Valentina suddenly gasped realizing what she did and suddenly her head turned beet red, as she was embarrassed to what happened, "U-uhm guys, sorry… I just got a little excited… My father always teased me for being bad at communicating, you see… I can't control my repulsiveness; it always shocks people and stays away from me." She faintly said. Okay, totally different.

"T-That's fine, it's not like everyone is perfect," I said trying to comfort her. And yup, not everyone is perfect. Well I'm very impatient and sometimes I'm also repulsive like her when I don't like things, I tend to speak words that I shouldn't.

"Y-yeah, Magnus is right, you shouldn't feel bad," Sofia added the warmth. And yup, her voice had convinced Valentina as she looked at us with sparkling eyes. "You guys~" She sobbed. What a cute girl.

"Anyway, you two should go. I still have a meeting on the young mages council so, I'll be going now." Realizing that we are terribly late now, Valentina quickly wiped her tears and waved at us before separating with us.

When she was gone, Sofia nudged me using her elbow.

"What a weird girl… Anyway, what does she mean staying in her house?" She asked.

House? Oh lord, this girl definitely misunderstood her.

"She meant place… Her family is one of the fifteen founders of this island, her family has a city on the east of this island, and she also has a town here on the city on the coastal region where we first met. She meant that she wants us to live in her place, or to say, her town." I explained carefully because right now, Sofia is looking at me intensely probing me if I am lying and her slightly vertical pupil seems threatening it's like 'Don't you dare lie to me, or else I'm going to chop you with my two swords.'

However, hearing my explanation she sighed and looked on her side where Valentina walked away, "What? Is that so, so she's a big shot."

"And cute."
