7 Chapter 7: Tutorial! Hot battle and Day One Complete

We encounter the group of slimes and lock our position. Pixi is above me scanning the big slime while I'm thinking of a strategy on what to do here. I ran towards one big slime and six small ones and locked my sight on the smaller ones. I slashed one of them, which is the level 2 slime, to its core and it died immediately.

I noticed the big slime backing off slightly, but I focused more on the smaller ones around me. three of the slimes jumped toward me and I dodged them, stabbing one of them to the core in the process. It's the level 4 slime and good thing it died in one hit. I jump towards the other two and slashed them aiming for the core. I hit one of them critically, causing it to die but I missed the other one so I slashed it once again.

2 small slimes left, which are levels 3 and 5. They are all in my sight specially the big one. It slowly begins bouncing toward me and slowly, I can see its weakness and its name.

"Large normal slime, a level 12 slime that becomes bigger than the others because of a higher level of concentration. Same as other slimes, its core is on the utmost middle of it." Pixi explained to me.

A slime stronger than the girl's dad, this must be what she's talking about. I hold my sword tighter and prepare to launch my attack but suddenly, the large slime jumps high up into the air. There's a red mark beneath me and in every game mechanics, this is definitely where the slime is gonna land.

"Apho, dodge!" she shouted as she flew away.

I know what to do, Pixi! is what I want to say but I'm too focused so I followed her and dashed back to the large slime to stab its core. It dealt 53 damage as its health dropped to 74%. The two other slimes follow up to attack me but I sweep my sword to their core and the level 3 slime died while the other one still has 1% health.

I run towards the last small slime and slash it then suddenly, the catchy ringtone ring in and shows that I'm level 4 already. It always removes my exhaustion in battle so I'm glad about it.

Now my only problem is this level 12 big boy. This is gonna be quite a hassle but a 3 core hit can finish this or a few normal hits. The slime bounces in my direction and jumps towards me. I immediately run to the left to dodge it and dash towards it to stab a clean core hit. I managed to slash it one time and its health dropped to 46%. I clench my sword and prepare for another round of attacks.

I was expecting it to jump again but it did something different. It bounces in the same spot, as if it's provoking me to attack. I am expecting it will attack the moment I slash it so I remain cautious. I run towards the slime and slash it once. I didn't go too close so I can't hit the core. As expected, it tried to attack me by jumping on me but... I didn't expect it to bounce this much!!

I gritted my teeth and instinctively blocked it with my sword, but the slime is too huge to be blocked. It made me fly away, dealing immense damage and the burning pain is all over my body. The screen pops out with my HP and MP in it. My health is reduced to 85% after that attack and my MP is almost running out already, probably because of all the running and dodging. I stand up and focus my sight on the large slime with its 34% health.

"I was scanning it furthermore and it seems that it's charging up for its next attack to be much more lethal than normal hits," Pixi said and I thought about what to do after.

I pretty much know what to do so I clench my grip on my sword and attempt to slash the large slime for good. I rush once again but didn't attack yet. I get close enough to trigger its charging and attack me. It's about to attack me once again so I jump back and immediately dodge to the right. It grazed me a bit yet I took so much damage.

The large slime is now completely vulnerable after the attack it did. Somehow.. the burning sensation of pain is slowly disappearing. My body becomes lighter and I can feel a power surging into me. So many advantageous effects happening on my body that I can't focus on aiming the swing of my sword. I didn't feel my sword go deep but I defeated the big slime in one slash. 1/3 of its health disappeared and all the burning sensation inside me and the exhaustion disappeared as well. The catchy ringtone once again came and it said I'm level 5. That single level 12 Large Slime leveled me up once easily.

"Woahh!! what was that attack Apho?!" Pixi flew to her usual spot as I sheet my sword back to my waist.

To be honest, I don't really know what happened. I felt an immense amount of fierce and excitement on that final slash that my usual damage boosted to the point of killing that big slime. As I clench my fist, I can gradually feel it, that burning sensation. That battle against an enemy stronger than me really fired me up.

"Apho!! don't just space out there and notice me" She flew around my head and I just let out a sigh.

"I don't know what was that but it felt good I guess" I answered Pixi and began to pick up every slimeballs insight.

Pixi, on the other hand, starts examining me and my sword. I hope she can find the answer she's seeking. After picking all slimeballs, 12 in total as that big slime just gave me 5 whole slimeballs, I stretched a bit and check my current balance. It went from 38 silvers to 55 silvers which is not bad. I heard Pixi sigh and went to my right shoulder.

Pixi mumbled something before flying in front of me.

"Now that we're done here. Let's head back to the girl?" Pixi followed up with a question.

"Not yet," I answered her as I look around. This world ain't fun with hidden treasure chest huh. I looked up and the sky and the sun were still visible and I held my sword on my waist.

"Let's continue till the sun drop," I said to her, and her eyes sparkled with joy.

"Fine fine," she said as she fly to my right shoulder and we embark on a new adventure.

Around us are a vast area of rocks and few amounts of slimes also. I slew a few and as I clench my sword, something's missing. I want to feel that burning sensation I felt on my body.

"Hey Pixi, does that big slime we fought earlier respawn?" And so I asked Pixi about it.

"They.. don't really just 'respawn' as what you're saying. Slimes are concentrations of energy from nature and so, they just appear everywhere. Though when a certain slime got too much energy, they become bigger to contain that energy." She explained to me.

According to the girl we talked to, sometimes his dad fought slimes that are stronger than him. That certain area we just went to probably has more 'energy' Pixi was talking about. I continue to slash some slimes as we're walking aimlessly. Suddenly, I felt like the stone on my left moved. I draw my sword and looked at it. That stone looks like a slime, with its 'owo' face on it.

"Pixi, scan," I told her and pointed to the stone slime ahead of us. It feels the same with the slimes I fought. The only difference is that it blends in nicely to the terrain we're having. Pixi begin to scan it and the slime jumped on us. I dodged it and Pixi was done scanning it afterward.

"A level 7 Rocky slime. It adopts the energy's terrain and so it blends into its surroundings. Careful Apho, certain slimes that get a unique energy also get a special attribute accordingly to the energy it acquired" She explained as I slashed the rocky slime and it didn't go through its core.

It's much tougher than I anticipated and its health dropped to 67%. It tried to attack me like a normal slime would do but I dodged it and then stabbed it in its core afterward. I looted the slimeballs it dropped which is just the same as a normal slime give. I guess it was easier than the big slime I fought earlier. My body feels lighter ever since that fight. Pixi suddenly flies in front of me so she is probably about to explain more details about this unique slime.

"Rocky slimes are stronger than normal slimes in terms of everything but they drop the same amount of slime balls. The difference is the ExP and silver coins it gives are relatively higher so it's a good tough enemy for grinding." Pixi explained.

In that case, it's much faster and better to level up if I were to focus on hunting those rocky slimes but its core is difficult to penetrate due to its hardened skin. Was it my technique that is lacking or my power? Pixi flies to my shoulder and I continue to adventure the area.

We aimlessly wander around and kill rocky slimes and normal slimes here and there. After a few hours, I decided to go back to the spot where I fought the large slime earlier. It seems it hasn't spawned yet or rather the slimes here haven't accumulated enough energy to turn into a large slime. I left the area and then fought the other slimes that are just bouncing around.

It's about to reach dawn and my MP is depleting even though it increases after I leveled up twice. I stretch then called it a day for now. For a single day of grind, I progressed pretty well.

"Should we find a place to stay in, Apho?" Pixi asked while hovering around me.

"Does it recover my Hp and Mp?" I curiously asked her while walking towards the entrance of the Eastern Gate of the kingdom.

"I think so? Rest is the best natural healer they say." She answered uncertainly so I replied with uncertainty too and shrug my shoulders.

We walked to the same path earlier in the morning and the girl that gave us the mission is not at the place we met her even tho it was not night yet. I request Pixi to go to the merchant first so I can buy some supplies for tomorrow and she approves as she will look for Inns so she went out for a moment. I walk around and then reach the merchant place which is still open and have many players that were browsing some items.

The kid seems busy helping the other players so I helped myself and bought 5 mana potions. I checked my silver coins in my inventory and I have 124 from many slimes I've killed today. I added 2 health potions since both potions cost the same 12 silver coins per bottle. Her mother greeted me then I handed over the silver coins to her as my payment and then put the potions into my inventory for a few seconds. After I walk out of the store, Pixi flies towards me.

"I finally found a place to stay!! It's only 15 silvers per night. hope you didn't spend all your silvers now" she said while hovering in front of me gesturing to follow her.

"I still have 40, lets go." I said to her then followed her pace.

I'm planning to log out after staying at the inn after I replenish my hp and mp. We've reached the inn that is named "Felinyaa Inn". I entered first and we've greeted by 2 NPCs with cat ears. Pixi handled the situation then I handed her the payment and I went first as Pixi handed me the keys. She said she going to talk with the cashier first so I let them be. The room is located on the second floor and after opening the door, the room looks tense but the bed looks so comfortably soft. I lie down there and opened my menu and wanted to leave the game for now since somehow my body feels heavy.

In the menu, the log-out button can't be interacted...
