9 Ch 9 Wrinkle in space

Adam, stared at the facsimile of a rose he'd created, laying on the center of his palms .

The rose looked healthy. It's blooming red was deeper then other roses and it's scent could be smelled from many feet away.

He watched as the beautiful red pedals on the flower turned into a light yellowish pigment, then to a unhealthy brown then finally to a dead black. It's wonderful smell turned putrid like rotting fruit. It wilted the instant he stopped providing it soul energy.

He could only sigh. He'd been trying to replicate life on the blue star using Earth's organism's as a diagram.

He'd succeeded for the most part. Using the memory's from previous uses of 'Color Vision he created beings that in any sense of the word should technically be alive. But, so far every experiment he'd conducted resulted in grotesque failure.

His creations always seem to be at the cusp of actually gaining sentience only for reason's unknown, them to suddenly die. They would rapidly age. The bonds that held them together would collapse and turn into dust. Then they'd vanish, like they never were.

Besides the many failures Adam, had never been so close. It felt like the tip of his finger's were touching up on something, but no matter how far he extended, no matter how much he reached, it was still out of his grasp. Adam, didn't fret. The threat of failure always trailed ahead of success on the path that led to the greatest goals. Instead, he laughed.

"Ha Ha Ha" 'If it wasn't at least this difficult to unravel, what kind of great secret would life hold' He thought.

Again excitement for the future enveloped his mind. He couldn't wait to found his first planet. visions of dense forest and incredible beast filled his sight as he looked at the barren planet. 'One day life will encompass all of the universe'

.....

A Few Minutes Before.....

Isaac, finally got home after helping the two girls get back to theirs.

He noticed two new messages on the messaging app on his phone. Both of the girls had texted their names after they traded information with him.

Isaac, had no choice He had to get involved. Otherwise, if Marionette told the gambling organization of his identity if she was in danger, his family could be in trouble. He had to make sure she wasn't placed into that kind of circumstance.

He sighed and chose to empty his mind of this troubling situation.

Besides he had a more pressing issue right now that he had to deal with.

Adam, had told him right before he walked the girls home, two hours or so ago, that he'd be trying to experiment with something new that had arrived in the mindscape, and he'd probably be silent for while. He wondered what it was but, Adam himself said he didn't clearly understand either.

it had already been more then an hour but Adam still didn't say anything afterwards. He was not startled by Adam's silence since he could still 'Sense' him, But he still wanted to make sure if Adam was fine.

Isaac, noticing his father and sister's where not in the living room, assumed them to be asleep. Going into his room and changing out of his soiled clothes, Isaac assumed a cross-legged meditative position on his bed.

He sensed into his mind space, but to his surprise he could not find Adam. Isaac felt a bit apprehensive, but soon he noticed within the darkness a translucent bubble that was as big as a bowling ball floating in the empty void . 'Is this the new thing he was interested in' Isaac thought.

lying within the bubble was a small being. upon closer inspection, he realized that the being was Adam, but with a more child like figure.

He looked like a fully grown fetus, ready to be born.

A red yarn that looked like an umbilical cord was protruding from it's stomach. It floated through the empty space with seemingly no purpose. Isaac, noticed it to be the same looking string that the original Adam had on his stomach.

Isaac was flabbergasted. This last week had been filled with surprises, but this just seemed too strange.

What happened to the original Adam? Will this be his new form for now on? or worse yet will he not have any of his previous intelligence? Simply living his immortal life as a baby? Many questioned entered his mind, but there was no one to answer any of them.

Isaac, retracted his gaze. Moving his eye's to the face of the babies, he noticed to a fright that the baby was staring back at him.

'Those eye's' He thought. As deep and empty as they looked , they seemed to have a contradicting feature where it felt like everything that existed where within them. He, felt uncomfortable yet he could not look away.

Something was dragging him in, something unstoppable. Before he could put up a fight, or even know whether he was in danger or not, everything stopped. The baby closed it eyes and went back to sleep. At the same time a flat screened circular projection appeared in front of Isaac eye's. It took a few seconds for Isaac to realize what he was watching, but not long after he soon understood what and who he was looking at.

staring at Adam, who looked like he was just playfully tinkering around with the creation of life, Isaac couldn't help but awestruck at Adam's abilities. "He really is an actual god" He thought.

After his astonishment though, Isaac came to realize a common trait in all of Adam's creations. Once created they weren't fated to live for too long.

Often dying a few minutes after birth. Not only would they die, They'd breakdown and turn into specks of dust which would then evaporate into the air, seemingly disappearing from existence.

Isaac, could see the pondering Adam, talking to himself. He seemed to be very enthralled in his research, so Isaac didn't want to bother him. But, Isaac thought he'd should at least inform Adam of what just happened so he tried talking to the man who was having a heated discussion with himself like a schizophrenic through the screen.

"hey Adam" He spoke, but Adam couldn't hear him. After a little while Isaac came to know that the screen couldn't project sound.

knowing this he then tried a different way to reach Adam. Reaching out to the screen his fingers sensed a tremble as it went through the portal.

Suddenly, the portal started lighting up. Different colors to which Isaac was somewhat familiar to as being colors he'd seen briefly in Color vision, began to fluorescently glow as string like annular shaped energy rotated in blindingly fast speeds. The portal fluctuated and waved like the sea. His arm was now fully in the maw of the colorful portal. Soon he disappeared and reappeared in yet another dark room.

"Ah" It didn't take Isaac long to understand where he was. He seemed to have been delivered to Adam's mindspace.

Adam, who Isaac was sharing visions with was slightly startled upon sensing the familiar aura of Isaac.

"Oh it's you" He said. At this point he'd all but reluctantly given up on the quest for breeding life on the blue star for now. He was curious on why the reversal of roles between him and Isaac had taken place.

After a moment of explanation from Isaac, Adam couldn't help but think about the surprise he'd felt when he first saw the portal himself. It was right after Isaac had fully released his spiritual energy. It seemed to have stimulated the red string. Adam thought about it and came to a realization, he realized that his fate was deeply intertwined with Isaac's.

...

later...

Having fully realized the way to transport to his personal world as well as to his original world, Adam who was meditating within Isaac's mindscape was somewhat happy.

He'd finally understood the purpose of the red string. It was the rope that connected all of the worlds together, it allowed him to travel to the different the dimensions he'd already been in.

He still didn't know how he could deliberately place these dimensional strings, or even if he could travel to any further planes, but at least the information he had now cleared up a lot of headaches.

Adam, couldn't help but lament the pathetic versatility of his abilities. He was a bit angry when he thought about it. He was a god, yet nothing seemed to be in his control. Within his own universe he wasn't allowed to do much and it felt like all the discovery's he'd made so far was by accident.

Take for example his ability to create life. Before coming back to earth, he had spent so long trying to discover the ways to bring his creations to life. Only to be met with constant failure.

Now, after he'd discover a way back to earth, and having used his perfect memory to memorize all he could from day's worth of biology knowledge he had researched from books as well as using Color vision to create what he thought to be flawless diagrams of the plants he'd seen, he still hadn't found the formula to life.

At this point he had come to conclusion. Since the something 'missing' within his creations couldn't be found within his universe, then he'd have to figure a way to bring something that he already knew had the potential for life into his own universe.

Adam thought for a second and decided. If he wanted to figure out the seed that would allow him to bring life into fruition in his universe, why not start with an actual seed?
