4 Ch 4 Morality

(authors note's. Super fuckin pissed. I wrote a draft earlier only for it to be deleted when I hit save)

A glass cup was floating towards the ceiling. Though it was slow it was still going up at an unsteady pace.

Adam and Isaac, Both looked at it with cramped constipated faces. Isaac, felt a migraine in the front lobe of his brain while Adam felt his Soul power rapidly depleting.

As soon as the cup reached a certain point that they'd previously deemed their goal, the cup stopped rising and fell on a pillow.

Isaac heaved and huffed as he collapsed to his knees. His face was bathed in sweat further indicating how exhausted his body was, but oppositely if one were to look him in the eye right now they'd see a burning enthusiasm that hid inside in inexhaustible excitement.

"See, I knew it.. it only took a few hours and you're already getting better.. before even, a feather was difficult but now.. Now I know you'll be able to help me" Isaac cheered happily. Adam, suffering from Spiritual fatigue was both happy as well as skeptical. He criticized in his head.

'Though I am improving at a stable pace, this little interference shouldn't merit any praise.. How long will it take me to fulfill mine and his wishes if this is all I can accomplish? Adam's, thought process was always like this. He'd learned it from an early age. " The higher the anticipation, the harder the fall". His mind was always based on the reality in front of him, Why dream of big accomplishments when your current capabilities were trash?

But it was a fact that he was improving, at least that reality was right in front of him. 'This is good, but I don't see how this little power will help me solve my problems'

While thinking of his universe Adam noticed a little, almost undetectable string floating in the corner of his eyes. Adam, wasn't surprised by it. He noticed it a while back, but he still could not decipher what it truly was. This string, that had the closest resemblance to 'red' when he used color vision, seemed to be attached to his stomach. It flapped mysteriously in the air even though Isaac's mind space had no wind that could blow it.

'Now that I think about it. During the time when I first woke up in my universe and to here it has always followed me' Adam, thought about it some more then realized. 'Wait, before I was transported here I remember just before everything turned dark this red string that always moved side to side went straight for an instant'. Adam, mind was preoccupied at the time, but as he thought about it now he realized, the string that always seemed slack and always floated in an inconsequential fashion did in fact went taut the moment everything was happening. Almost like it was pulling something.

Adam reached out his hand to touch it, but as expected, his hand went right through it. ' This is the only part of my body that I cannot touch'. The mystery of the string was something that Adam really wanted to uncover but even after several years of it following him, he didn't learn anything about it.

Adam didn't know why but, he felt that some of the answers to his problems could be solved as long as he learned how go about using this string. Before he could think further he heard....

"Ah.. now I'm hungry again" Isaac said as a small grumbling came from his stomach.

"Again isn't this the fourth time already.. this could end up becoming a problem!" Adam knew that using soul techniques used a lot of energy, but he didn't expect that the amount of energy that was necessary to use it would be such a large amount. The amount of food in each portion that Isaac ate too was a problem, after all with the amount of money he could potentially waste on just himself he would certainly put a strain on his parents, especially now of all time.

"I know" Isaac answered while thinking with a serious face. "The amount of money I'll have to spend on just myself will be ridiculous, but I must do it. I don't suppose I have much time left to get better" Sacrifices were necessary to achieve great goals.

"If we become truly desperate then I'll just quit school and look for another job" Isaac said as if it was simple. He was not only considering the option for himself, he was also thinking of his father. Even though his wife was in the hospital, it didn't mean the bills would stop coming. Isaac worried if his father had the perseverance to continue going to work with his previous proficiency. With how volatile the world is right now, one slip up could ruin an entire family.

'The current economy is harsh, even finding my waitering job was difficult enough'

"No" Adam retorted " that would just end up creating more stress for your parent's and if the government is any similar to how I remembered it to be then the police would end up at your door. They could even arrest your father for negligence"

"Also someone of your age is not allowed to legally work more then six hours a day" Adams said.

"Simply said.. this problem is not exactly as great as we imagine it to be. You have free school lunch, so that's one meal had, you can spend a little on yourself and looks for deals as well as learn how to cook at home. These methods could end up helping you save up a lot of money". Adam looked at it reasonably. The prospects of Isaac's family was in fact looking worse, but for at least right now they weren't desperate.

"Ugh" Isaac let out a long frustrated sigh " I always knew my family was bad off, but I never would've thought there would be a day where I had to seriously think about my next meal."

"The human mind tend to exaggerate bad situations like these.. I'm sure its not as bad as we think it is" Adam, trying to ease the mood.

"Yeah being negative will not help me.... And if worst comes to worst, I still have you" Isaac, responded with a momentary dark look in his eye's "With these power's we could get away with anything"

Adam took a moment to realize what Isaac was implying, but after he realized it he wasn't surprised. He would be more surprised with a person who wasn't willing to go at least this far for their family.

"Yes.. That's also an option" Adam said.

"Ah. Really?" Isaac was taken aback. He thought for certain what he was suggesting would immediately get turned down by Adam.

"I would be against it if you had an option. Men who steal for the pleasure of stealing are evil, but men who do it because it's the only option they have open are just human." Always reasonable, Adam explained his opinion without excessive emotion.

"Hah.. now I'm not sure if i signed a contract with an actual devil or not." Isaac responded with a laugh.

"Hey you were the one that suggested it first. Anyway, I'm neither an Angel or a devil. as of right now I'm just a poor man who's being thrown around by fate. If I don't latch on to every opportunity that crosses me then I would have nobody else to blame but myself if I fail... I could only ask you to refrain from stealing from the poor. That's true evil"
