9 A new path

Dereth left on his own, and Rein ended up having the solution to the Deb Oxes issue, he just drew out a plan of how to build an abattoir, a facility where multiple animals could be killed at the same time.

Duke Erin insisted on having him stay, soon he began to get involved in Duke Erin's business, then suddenly he received a temporary class Merchant Secretary, he didn't have the option to decline it. It was temporary also meant that Duke Erin understood that one day Rein would have to leave, for the past six months Duke Erin's business had grown, he was even able to recover the losses because Rein's predictions were always right.

Rein was stuck in Duke Erin's office, but he enjoyed other privileges of working for the Duke such as meeting many nobles, gaining lots of information, and nothing was as important to him as his pay, he earned 100 gold coins every week, indeed Duke Erin was a pushover.

But the problem now was he was too good of a pushover, Rein didn't know how he could tell someone this good he wants to quit.

"I'm done for... am I going to be a level 14 forever, it's been 6 months I'm pretty sure others would've leveled up a lot, at this rate if I meet my arch-enemies I'll get killed by them. Well I should take a walk to loosen up a bit"

Rein went out of the office, went to the changing room, and put on a black long coat on the white neat shirt he was wearing, there was nothing special about his dress, but anyone that saw him would know he wasn't a peasant, Rein had not obtained any nobility title and was just living off the duke. He put on a long boot that reached his knee giving him the 18th-century British look.

He walked out and was constantly greeted by maids and servants. Over the months, the mansion had been lively thanks to the arrival of Rein, his jokes, and weird nature, his determinations, his laziness and dumbness the household had seen it all and were marveled, the butler would popularly say it can never be boring with Blackhead around.

Blackhead was a nickname the butler gave him, she liked his deep black hair but concluded on the name because he was dumb and clueless, she would whine around Rein all the time and be especially fond of him.

As Rein walked out of the mansion to the pathway the led to the Fountain, he looked upfront and saw the butler in front of the fountain as she tossed a coin in the fountain, even though his knowledge about the opposite sex was 0%, he could still identify a beautiful lady when he sees one, that was not the only thing that captivated him.

She had a massive bosom and would often wear slimly fitted dresses that revealed her cleavage which always captured his attention every time he saw it, the butler had a beautiful face with her rectangular glasses sitting well on her face, her mouth was small and red, she had a slim body that made her large bosom obvious, her body seemed like it's not enough to withstand the weight of her bosom.

"uh, Blackhead... How long have you been standing there"

Her voice knocked him back into reality. He hurriedly bowed his head gesture greeting her, she gave a menacing smile.

Rein almost choked, he could never get used to her naughty nature, she always pronounced anything, and didn't know how to censor a word, Rein didn't know if she was intentionally doing it, or she is clueless that these words are sensitive.

She was full of energy, Rein who was planning to go alone now got the idea that he wasn't going alone anymore and wasn't being given any choice to decline,

Rein slowly followed her as she walked majestically, filled with energy, her slim black gown that had a parting that reached her thighs which made her looked exceptionally sexy fluttered around, as they got out of the gate, they met the two kitchen maids. They looked alike and Rein firstly mistook them for twin, but they weren't.

"hoo!!! Marley and Harley!"

Rein shouted their name as they walked slowly to the front.

"sister our name is being called by the new master"

The younger one, Harley she had a cute and young face that made it obvious she was young, she had blonde and short hair, her bangs covered her forehead but did not cover her thick eyebrow. She had a small eye with a deep brown eyeball, she was cute, Rein saw her as cute but in a childlike manner, however, she was rude and rarely takes a joke, she too would tease Rein accusing him of doing lewd things to the butler. Marley who was two years older but had the same description as Harley stopped and looked back.

(he's with the butler again, that old hag)

"Why are you calling us?"

"that girl I have no idea why she is always angry with me, she's just too mean?"

Rein rapidly closed the distance between them, the butler did not fall behind too.

"Ohh are you all little girls going to the town store."

Town store was the common and simple word everyone used to define the market. Marley answered her with a question.

"and are both of you oldies finally going on a date?"

"oho, you definitely can read the atmosphere?"

Rein who had never been on a date freaked out. The butler slipped her hand into his arm pushing his arm to press on her bosom.

"don't you know Blackhead when a man and woman is going out it's called date, so you're mine now hehe"

She gave her usual menacing smile.

The dumb Rein was now really freaked out in his mind

(no way have I entered a relationship without even knowing it, damn I never really planned this part of my life, Amelia is beautiful and cool but she's older than me, I don't like older women...)

Amelia smiled as she saw that the dumb Rein did not have a clue and had fallen to her trick, whining him over and over again was just fun for her, thanks to him, her sense of youth came back, the mansion used to be silent and boring, since the duke who had dedicated his entire life had no family of sorts, they were his household, everything in the mansion.

"any way we can walk together we'll eventually go our different ways"

Marley broke the silence.

"of course, I can't have my man around you two demons"

Marley flared

"Who are you calling demons?!!!"

"You, of course, you are too short, you must be a demon in your past life"

"how about you get a life you old hag!"

"exactly what I'm doing"

she rested her head on Rein's shoulders, Rein was already very uncomfortable and embarrassed, he didn't know how to react to this situation.

Rein noticed later that, Fyn who was like the sisters' Guard dog and working machine, was not with them. Fyn was an innocent young man like Rein but he just wasn't as dumb as Rein he was too innocent, he loved Marley and had confessed his feelings, even though he was declined, he still obeyed her like a dog and admire her like a goddess, Rein felt pity for him a lot of times, they weren't particularly close but they talked a couple of times when Rein had to work with him to get some things done.

"he has gone up ahead, we'll meet him"

Harley was the one who answered with her cool, relaxed voice.

They had gotten to the middle of the city, as expected everywhere was busy and noisy, but it was a beautiful sight to behold, the voice of children, and bells, sounds of horses, and the beautiful carriages they carried, everything was beautiful. Ever since entering the real world Rein had not seen or spoke to a single earthling like him.

Just then someone approached him.

"Are you an earthling?"

"yes I am and why do you ask?"

Rein answered the sharp-looking boy with the low haircut, probably he had colored his hair Yellow or that's how he is, but if he is an earthling, he had it colored, his big eye caught Rein's attention, not only that he had a slant scar from his nose down to his jaw.

"I'm recruiting members for the sceptre guild, there's a recent guild quest, submission of goblins, apparently goblins which used to be very rare has been visiting the city borders frequently, Scepter guild suspects that a king goblin might have been born.

Rein who knew how guilds operate wasn't too surprised but in truth, he didn't know anything about this.

"uhh, Blackhead what am I ever gonna do with you?"

It was only after Amelia talked that the young man confirmed that she was with Rein, he had thought that they couldn't be together, he had said to himself no way a pretty lady like this would be friends with an earthling, many people in Leceiviester city are quite proud and regarded the earthlings as freeloaders.

"wow how did you meet such a pretty lady earthling"

"did you hear that Blackhead he just called me pretty, even a stone head like him knows what is good, so count yourself lucky you are one of the very few that gets to go on a date with me"

"adventurers help to solve the people's problem in return for rewards, gold coins, silver coins anything. But it's a very dangerous job and can get you killed anytime, an adventurer is exposed to monsters and dangers that lie in hiding."

Of Rein knew course what an adventurer meant,

"so must I be part of a guild to become an adventurer"

"Ohh if you don't want to be in a guild, you don't have to, but adventures includes dungeons which are always hard to solo"

The scarred young man with a low haircut answered Rein, probably in hopes of recruiting him into the guild.

"Lord Erin has one though?..."

"has what?... Amy...?"

"A commercialized guild, unlike the normal guild, you pay to enter the guild and you after you complete quest, there's the guild commission on each quest completed, commercialized guilds don't have a relationship of the sort, and nobody has any business with each other, no guild leader, just guild manager that manages the activities of the guild."

" Ohh I get it now, just go in get your quest and get out, how I would love that kind of thing"

Droan who was already hoping for the earthling in front of him to accepts his request, got gloomy.

"anyway my name is Droan I'm pretty sure we'll meet again if you'll become an adventurer"

He stretched out his hand to shake Rein.

"My name is Reinard"

Rein smiled and gave the man a handshake.

Droan watched as Rein and Amelia walked away and talked to each other.
