1 Prologue

Hello all!

It has been some time since I last showed myself in public, nearly one hundred and thirty-seven years ago now. I bet most of you thought I was dead! I mean, who would ever expect a human to live this long, much less a cat! By now though my stories have likely been spun into folktales and legends, which tell of a great mage who was gifted immortality by his master on the search to avoid his own death. In the process this master used up all his material that he spent a long time searching for, but in return gained the best companion he could ever ask for, if I do say so myself. I would happily regale this tale once again for those unfamiliar, with an addition towards the end. I haven't just been taking a cat nap this whole time after all! Now gather around as my rise to power starts one hundred and sixty-eight years previous, in a tower on a hill, in a village lost to time...
