2 Off the Rooftop

I began to look around my surroundings and all I can see are buildings that reach massively high for miles. The scenery reminds me of the bustling streets at night back home.

Well at least I wasn't transported in the middle of no where with dirt roads and empty lands of tall grass. The city life is always the best life or so I been told.

Being spotted dangling my feet off the edge of a building might give others a wrong a opinion as well. So time to get a move on before being spotted but doubt anyone and can view me up this far.

I stood up and heard a beeping noise in my back pocket. "What the?" I reached into my pocket and manage to pull out a ED device. Mother and father must have snuck this on me before I left.

I never owned one of these products but I did see my parents using them a lot. The Everything Doing device was created by one of our inventors. It acts as your own personal pocket smart computer.

This device is popularly sold throughout the galaxies and is one of our major forms of income on planet Arachpid. Built in with a personal AI this little girl can manage everyday life needs or adapt to your personal preference.

Don't ask me why this device is so popular. When others can most likely create a similar version but I guess we do it better and continue to make improvements on to it.

Between my training with either my father or royal guards, I did manage to study a lot by reading and of course the teachings from the royal tutors.

If I can recall correctly from a past book, the ED device is voice activated. What were the activation words again? Okay here goes nothing.

" ED start link." That should start up the process.

[Starting to link user's voice interface.. Complete, and how should I address new user?]

"Morgan is fine." This is pretty cool to witness the activation process.

The device is just fairly simple looking. A sleek jet black rectangular exterior, a full body screen and other essentials to improve the user friendly experience.

I know you can customize your ED's look but I like the out of factory appearance. If it comes to it I'll just ask the AI to change it later sometime.

"ED or AI, how should you be called?"

[The naming function is up to you Morgan.]

"Okay I'll call you Aidia," and, "Now help identify my current location."

That clears up on my whereabouts. From the looks of it Earth is not so technological advance compare to home but they are not the least productive planet that I know of. Anyways...

[Morgan you are receiving a incoming video call, would you like me to answer it?]

"Please allow the call through Aidia."

"Hey Morgan son it is your father and your mother and I would like to congratulate you on your arrival on Earth."

"Yeah okay thanks but where do I even go from here?"

"We have send your new home residence to your ED device and also son don't forget why you arrived on Earth?"

"I understand, I must save this planet from destruction and so forth."

"Yes, but there are dangerous beings who roam the city of New York," "Meaning you're not the only one on Earth with powers," "Be careful of those who hearts are filled with evil and greed."

I think my time of stay here has just gotten very interesting. Here I thought I would be surrounded by boring normal people and had to wait for this planet to be attacked by some outside invaders or something.

Thinking about of those who I can meet is getting my blood boiling. I wonder how I compare to them and what new powers I can get by doing battle with them.

My body is itching for a real fight. Wait my body is really tingling. Oh no I know what's about to happen!

"Oh sweetie don't forget about Mommy."

*Gulp*

"Lastly enjoy your stay and youth and find love and get married and have babies and more babies so mother can pinch cheeks and..."

"That's enough honey can't you see you're scaring the child," and, "Anyways best of luck from the both of us, take care."

"Bye sweetie mommy loves you!"

"Aidia pull up the directions for my new home's address."

Now first things first I have to get down from this building for god knows how long I been standing on for. Should I web sling from building to building?

Probably not, don't want to scare the people for my first time visit. Guess option B it is. Jumping from building to building is just as fun in my book. Just got to make sure I stick to the shadows so my cover is not blown.

Not knowing how people will react to my powers might get me in trouble. The point is to interact and save these humans. Not to scare them away and hate me.

Staying at the castle grounds for most of youth didn't make me incompetent on communicating with others. Honestly I made conversation with all the royal palace workers.

Plus my looks and personality did ease everyone's heart that talked to me. It ended up getting me a popular fan base, but I don't want to talk about that.

Let's just say other planets' ladies bombarded Arachpid to just even catch a glimpse of me to step outside the palace. It ended with myself having to give a speech and asking for everyone to please leave before having to be forced off the front grounds of the castle.

Enough of that side note. Wonder what this place Brooklyn has in stored for me. Hope it can handle this guy, but we'll see.

Time to get this body lose and see how fun building jumping is here. Running start and onwards, I'm off into the star-lit night sky.
