Treating a traitorous infection

Christian decided against moving into a neighbouring kingdom and moved towards the lands of the steppe tribes that often raided the areas around his old home, he planned to take over one of the clans and make it his army going forwards. He was unclear if he would be able to take over a clan within a tribe however he had read that there is a way to challenge one of the clan leaders for the right to rule or if a tribe had recently lost a chief then the strongest warrior would inherit the title.

Having decided his next destination, Christian began moving towards the mountains, the trip would take him a few days to complete if he was able to avoid coming into contact with any Azure kingdom forces although a part of him wanted to, he wanted to cause them as much pain as possible.

He got his wish on the second day of his journey, as he approached the small village of Ironglade, roughly 3 miles away from the entrance to the steppes, he found a small group of Knights terrorising the local villagers. Christian ducked behind a nearby building and eavesdropped on the conversation.

"Please sir knight, we have no idea where the heir to Varmosa is, as far as we knew he was still in the city itself. We have no reason to help him as the Dunehill's left us to deal with the steppe lords on our own and they then taxed us heavily afterwards."

The man speaking was a frail old man who was barely standing on his own two feet, a beautiful woman stepped out from behind the knights and said" You are lying, the Dunehills ruled this land fairly and dealt with the Steppe lords to the best of their abilities. If you have not seen Christian then we will move onto our second order of business, we need to collect some food from the village to help support our army here."

The old man stood stunned at the sight of the woman, her light blue eyes holding him captive while her long black hair reflected the sunlight blinding him to anything but her. Her curvy body was wrapped in an azure coloured dress that highlighted the perks of the female body, it took the old man a while to recover from his stunned state and when he was about to respond, the clanking of bones rang out from the east of the village.

The knights turned around and ran towards the sounds, one of them screamed" There is a necrom.." as his throat was pierced by a short sword. Christian then made his way towards the remaining knights and with his skeletons defending him from incoming blows easily killed the knights, piercing them with his spear from above the shields that were protecting him.

Before anyone could blink five of the ten knights that were in the village were dead, Christian then pushed towards the village centre where the woman and the old man were. The only thing they had heard was the screams of the knights as Christian cut through them, they had no idea that the heir they were looking for was coming for them instead.

The sound of bones moving got closer and closer to them the main square where they were, eventually 3 skeletons appeared at the entrance to the square wearing Azure kingdom armour and using their weapons and shields. The skeletons got within 5 yards of the remaining knights and stopped moving, looking directly at the knights, waiting for the command to attack.

One of the knights cracked under the pressure and charged at the skeletons as the distance was closed a spear was thrown from on top of a nearby building and it pierced the skull of the knight leaving him pinned to the floor. The three skeletons pushed forwards and picked up the spear and one of them carried it 10 metres away from the other two and placed it on the floor.

As soon as the spear touched the ground it disappeared, once it was gone the skeleton got back into formation with the other two. They formed a three-man shield wall and stood still looking at the knights again, one of the knights turned to the woman and said" This situation is far from ideal, 5 of our troops are dead and it seems like someone is controlling the skeletons, if this a powerful necromancer then we are screwed, you have to leave while you still can."

A maniacal laugh came from atop the building to the left of the knight, a voice followed the laugh saying" The bitch betrayed my family, helped with the murder of my mother and father, none of you will be leaving here alive. That includes you, traitorous old man. We were nothing but good to your shitty village and this is how you repay us. Anyone who is still loyal to the Dunehill family shows it and help me kill the invaders."

There was no movement which caused Christian to laugh again, he then shouted" As of now this village is marked for death by my hand, you, the Azure kingdom, all of it will fall at my hands." When he finished speaking, the three skeletons closed the distance between them and the four remaining knights. The Knights took a few steps back which caused the skeletons to laugh as they closed in, the entire village froze however a shrill scream rocked the buildings, people and sky.

The knight commander turned around to see the Princess' head on the end of the black spear, Christian whispered" That is for my failure to save my mother, may she rest in peace." He then removed the head from the spear and ran towards the knights, he began picking them off one by one while his skeletons attacked from the front he killed from the back.

The knights eventually ran out of stamina and fell to the pincer movement, Christian then shouted" One day I will be back for this village, you have until then to flee while you still can, however old man die here."

The man whimpered" I'm sorry lord Dunehill, I had no-" Christian slit his throat and began to leave the village when a new spell appeared in his mind.

*10 souls absorbed, unlocked the skeletal mount, use some mana to summon a mount for the user, lasts until the mount is destroyed in combat.*

He instantly summoned his new mount and a large horse made out of various bones stood in front of him, it had a saddle made of iron and had iron armour covering its body.. As Christian went to mount it, he noticed his reflection in the armour, he muttered "No wonder she didn't remember me by look, it appears my body has dramatically changed, oh well time to go to the steppes"
