1 1. Who Will Be Greater Than Luna?

Has anybody ever considered the existence of werewolves? Sure, there are stories of them in every part of the world but has anybody actually thought of it as a real possibility? Let's hope that there has been, otherwise this tale might seem far fetched.

Many of you are probably already wondering what this is all about, so I'll add some pretext. This is the hectic story of a certain young woman. Angelica Agamemnon Valencia .

******

In a world hidden in plain sight, Angelica is the only daughter of the Great Twilight pack. As the oldest of her five siblings, she is supposed to be the leader. Of course, in everybody's life there are barricades and hurdles that one must surpass. Due to this fact, it also implies that there should be a large external factor Angelica must overcome. The issue here is that she is a SHE.

It definitely is an old-fashioned way of thinking. No doubt about it but that is simply the way it is. Her mate, whoever that may be is supposed to become the Alpha while she is to be Luna. That is how this hierarchy works and how it always has.

Luna is also a respectable title but that expected equality is not how it fans out. Alpha gets final say in everything. Everything.

Does Angelica agree with the situation she's in? Of course not.

With one sharp gasp, Angelica's body jolts upright from her bed. Eyes wide with laboured breathing. Nightmares are something common for her, but that is a story for another time.

A few moments pass before her breath steadies and she takes one soft, deep breath. Her gaze scanning the surroundings of her room. 3:45 AM. "What better time to wake up than three forty-five, right?" She jokes drily.

With a solid swing of her legs over the edge of the bed her feet meet the cold tile floor. Her wolf is the lucky one out of the two, she gets to continue sleeping.

Every step Angel takes is very calm, cautious and calculated. One creak from the floor beneath her feet will definitely wake her brother in the next room over. That would definitely create a domino effect which is something she definitely does not want.

The only time she actually gets to do some extra training is before everybody wakes up. Once they all wake up, she has to give up her area for her brothers. It is a complete and utter joke.

In no more than five minutes, she is dressed and ready to go. Her long, glossy midnight hair pulled up into a simple ponytail. Her unique violet eyes glimmering in the dark room as she slipped her shoes onto her feet before quickly and quietly slipping out of her room.

As the daughter of the Alpha and Luna, she lives in the pack house. Anybody wish to imagine how difficult it is sneaking out of a house loaded with keen werewolves?

Angelica is mere feet away from the front door when a creaking floor board makes her body come to a sudden halt. Although, it isn't from her.

"What's this? Ms. Luci is sneaking out at this hour? Maybe I should get the others." The man laughed, a very amused grin spreading across his face. His sole purpose on earth is to annoy her.

It always ticks her off that her own brother calls her Luci.

Angelica...the fallen angel. Very funny.

It takes every fibre in her being not to put this asshole of a brother in place. "Adrien, the second child is really trying to threaten me? How pitiful." Her words coming out as nothing more than a scoff.

Adrien is only a year younger. He is followed by Alexander, Asher, Axel, and Abbe. Each being a year younger except for the two youngest, they are twins.

Nobody is worse at hiding their emotions than Adrien, she could see it clearly in the dim light. His face growing redder with ferocity. She is definitely pushing some buttons.

A soft chuckle escaping through her bright red lips. She definitely won this time, turning on her heels to head out the door. She already has a foot out the door when that dumbass of a brother bursts into laughter.

That grin twisting on his face as he cocks his head to the side. "At least I am not getting an arranged marriage. You are nineteen and you haven't even found your fated mate yet?"

'What...did he just say..? Arranged marriage? What the actual FUCK is he talking about?' Angelicas eyes widen, her gaze locking on the hardwood floor. These words making Lilith roar to life.

Angelica's violet eyes swirling into a vicious black as her body slowly turned back towards the male who dares utter such disgusting words.

Lilith, Angelica's wolf clearly taking the wheel. "Say that one more time. Be more clear. You..dare try stripping me away from my mate? He is still on this earth!" Her body dropping low, readying herself to attack.

The regret instantly visible on Adrien's face. He should know better by now. Lilith is the one most vicious wolf in this pack, even rivalling their fathers. Mentioning the arranged marriage could definitely be the death of him, even so, he drops his body into a stronger stance.

"Do you honestly believe you could beat me?" Adrien scoffs, the entirety of his body beginning to tense. The palms of his hands also starting to perspire, his heart hammering within his chest.

Within a shallow breath, her body lunges forward. Her fist balling up tightly, in a single swift movement, her right leg looped behind his while the rest of her body simultaneously moved with the force of her fist. Driving it directly into his nose.

"Watch yourself pup, I believe you enjoy those looks of yours." Lilith snarls lowly, her brow creasing her forehead into a frown. He is being surprisingly ballsy, even for him.

Considering how loud these two have been, pack members within earshot instantly jumping out of their beds. Unaware of what the threat is they all come running to the foyer to find Adrien flat on his back with Angelica, no. Those black eyes, it's definitely Lilith.

The crowd instantly starts parting to create a path for two people. A large bulky man in nothing but shorts. His dark brown hair a little ruffled from just getting up and right beside him stood a slender woman with light brown hair.

The Alpha and Luna. Even worse...their parents.

Everybody could see it on their faces. They are definitely pissed to have been awoken by a squabble this early in the morning. They don't get much sleep to begin with!

His low yet booming voice slices right through the tense air. "Give me my daughter back Lilith. Angelica...explain to me WHY you are fighting your brother at this hour?!" Jasper demands, using his Alpha voice to make himself as clear as possible.

There is some slight hesitation before those black eyes swirl back into the gorgeous violet. Instantly she locks eyes with the brutish man. "Adrien claimed that I would be courted to some male who I know is NOT my mate. Lilith got pissed, like I am certain you would if somebody tried courting mother off to someone else." Her tone firm, back straightened.

Jasper's veins instantly begin to bulge furiously just by the thought. All Were's are protective of their mates, at least the ones who feel the bond. "That is not the same thing! And that is what this is about..? Well it is too late Angelica...what Adrien said is true. I found your mother the day of my eighteenth birthday and look at you! Already nineteen without your mate in sight. We found a capable male to be your mate." He intended to tell her later on in the day, probably.

Angelica could feel her blood running cold, the colour in her face paling. 'How is this possible? For my parents to dictate who my partner is. Some Were's go years without finding their pair! They just decide a year is long enough?!'. "When...when does he get here..?" She spits through her teeth, her glare shooting daggers at both of her parents.

A small pause left the room to further drop in temperature, the spectators quickly trying to leave. None of them want to get involved with those two barbarians.

When it grows apparent that Jasper would not answer, Ester does. "I am sorry, your suitor will be arriving this afternoon. Please understand my child, you must meet with him. Whether you want to or not isn't something that matters right now." She spoke in a soft voice although the words themselves are colder than ice.

A hurt exhale forcing itself from her lungs. How can they expect her to accept this? "Today? That's all the time I have?" She whispers before whipping her body around and running out the door. How dare they! If they expect her to obediently follow every order they give, they would be wrong.

With a wolf who has already met their mate in a previous life, this situation isn't the greatest. A run should help clear her head.

It needs too.
