Behemoth

Aldren stood a few feet away from the platinum blonde; his hands tucked comfortably in his jeans pocket. His brows rose in intrigue as to what she was doing. Seconds later he saw her pulling a grimoire out of the hole in the wall.

'Witches and their grimoires.' He thought. Their obsession with it, passing it down from one generation to the next. Although he couldn't really blame them, considering it was knowledge passed down and developed from one witch to another. And many of the spells used today originated from the past and still as powerful and effective as it was before.

The tall brunet approached her with his usual confident swagger. "Having fun breaking the wall, darling?" he asked as he kicked off some of the debris that rolled on the floor with his boot. Violet narrowed her eyes at him, clenching her jaw, annoyed at his close proximity, "Yes, I imagined it was your face," she said, pulling another book from inside.

Aldren rolled his eyes, and he groaned exaggeratedly, "C'mon, darling. Tell me you're not angry still that I allured your little boyfriend." He said, earning silence from the platinum blonde. She was no longer in the mood to entertain him, so she simply shut her mouth and ignored him. He noted her silence, and he arched a brow, wondering if she genuinely was doing what he thinks she was doing—the cold shoulder.

"Ahhh! I know I'm not psychic, but I predict that you're giving me the cold shoulders love!!" he said, teasingly and yet again she did not respond, turning her back to him as she carried three grimoires in her hand and made her way back to her bedroom to pack it.

The brunet followed behind her like a lost puppy, watching as she placed each book in a plastic bag before putting it inside the box. Making sure it doesn't get wet during the travel back. She continued on packing, ignoring him the whole time. She paused all of a sudden as she packed her last luggage, and she almost turned and shot the brunet a glare when she felt him try and get inside her head. Another rare skill vampire seemed to develop by age, was the ability to read someone's mind, even manipulate it with giving someone visions or even planting memories that never was.

How they were able to do it, she doesn't have the faintest clue. And she knew that if she turned to him, he would get what he wanted from her. Her attention.

And so, she ignored him, merely kicking him out of her mind. Something even in her weak state was capable of doing. She silently wondered how long his patience would last, seeing as he had an obvious tension in his jaw. She had anticipated one or two times him either pinning her against the wall, attacking her, or if she was lucky, just snap her neck and leave her for dead on the cold wooden floors. But instead, he simply sat there on the bed watching her quietly.

Not long Violet finished, and Aldren got off the bed and said, "I'll have someone bring that to the car." He said, and she followed behind him as he stepped out of the room.

The two marched towards the elevator and got in, heading to the car park below. Violet paused just a few feet away from the elevator where the brunet stood, relaxed. He turned to her, "Something the matter?" he asked, with an arched brow. She snapped out of it and hopped in after him, shaking her head.

She felt weird, there was something her body was telling her, but she doesn't know what it was.

Minutes later, Aldren stepped out of the elevator, fishing his key from his jacket as he did so. He stopped when he noticed the platinum blonde paused, "Did you forget something?" he asked, curious why she was acting out of it. "…no, nothing--" she started to follow him when all of a sudden she felt the hair at the back of her neck stood up.

'Danger!' Her senses screamed.

The elevator beside theirs dinged, and it mechanically opened. Aldren turned just in time to see a crossbow pointed at his face, and the next thing he knew, he was on the floor. But it wasn't due to the stake whizzing from the bow, but it was from the blow to his side when the blonde tackled him to the ground.

Violet got off of Aldren, letting her instincts take control. She doesn't know why she bothered to tackle him to the ground, but that was something her body just did on its own; as to why she didn't care at the moment. She could feel the blood seeping out of her gut, staining her shirt, but she could also sense her body slowly healing itself. She took a step forward, her wolf emerging from within her. She could feel her hands shifting into claws, teeth shifting into sharp canines, and her eyes pulsating gold.

Ali's eyes widened, and breath nearly knocked out of her lungs.

'Holy fuck;' she whispered under her breath the second she saw the platinum blonde's eyes, one brilliant shade of violet the other gold. She recognized who the blonde was in an instant.

'The Behemoth!'

The same Mix they were told to avoid, and she knew she was good as dead, so she aimed her crossbow at her, "Serena, run!!" she shouted, at least she hoped that the Second-degree could get away, then she pulled the trigger.

Aldren pushed himself off the ground, and the second he smelt the sweet scent of blood, he knew it didn't belong to him. He focused his hearing, knowing full well the blonde could handle herself. And when he heard hurried footsteps, he blurred towards it.

"That's useless," Violet said as she stood before the woman taking the weapon in her hand and letting it melt. She didn't want to be tracked after all, and how they were able to find her after so many years, she needed to find out.

Stood before him was a second-degree witch, something he can identify based on the blue cord wrapped around her left wrist. "Hello." He greeted, and before she could even react, her head rolled on the concrete floor. Her decapitated body dropped after.

Aldren took his time walking back to the blonde, pulling a handkerchief from his pocket and wiping his bloodstained hand clean.

…..

The stake whizzed towards Violet, but it paused midair, causing Ali's eyes to widen in fear. 'So this was why a High Priest from the Cauldron died in her hands.' She realized as she stared back at the blonde's two-toned eyes. The violet one, glowing under the poorly lit parking lot. It was her magic; the power she possessed was something she had never seen before. She didn't even utter any kind of incantation.

Desperate, Ali pulled her wolfsbane/vervain gun and emptied her ammunition at her. But all her bullets, as she had expected, stopped and levitated in the air between them.

"Are you done?" Violet asked; tilting her head, and the bullets dropped all at once. As she approached, Ali stepped back, preparing to try to make a run for it, but the ground beneath her feet had swallowed both her legs, trapping her up to her knees.

She panicked, murmuring incantations.

"That's useless," Violet said as she stood before the woman taking the weapon in her hand and making it melt. She didn't want to be tracked after all, and how she was found out after so many years, she needed to find out.

Aldren approached the two, throwing the bloodstained handkerchief to the floor. The two women turned to him, noticing his presence. Ali collapsed on the floor, recognizing his face; every witch knows that face. She grew up with the knowledge that if she ever crossed paths with him, she should run.

'The Abomination!'

And looking at the two, she wondered why they were together in the first place? Were they working together? She didn't know, but the fact they were was something she needed to report.

And she quietly chanted in her mind, pausing out of the blue when her eyes focused on the bloody handkerchief on the ground, and she had an idea whose it was.

'Serena'

Aldren broke into a shit-eating grin, noticing her expression. "Your cute young friend is dead." He graciously informed, causing her eyes to water. Tears streamed down her eyes in silence. He ignored her and eyed the platinum blonde, a smile forming on his lips when he noticed how vibrant her eyes were, both pulsating in synchronize with her heartbeat.

"Are you alright, darling?" he asked; she simply nodded and crouched down before Ali.

"How did you find me?" she asked, catching the woman's attention.

"Death." She answered, causing Aldren to chuckle, amused. He bent down and grabbed her arm, revealing the white cord around her wrist. "Third-degree?" he asked, earning Violet's attention. He turned to face her and said, "Might as well kill her, or do you want me to do the honors?" he offered, knowing full well the third-degree will never talk.

Violet's hand pierced through the woman's chest, and she pulled out her heart, dropping it casually. The heart rolled to the ground a few times before stopping.

He smiled, taking it as her answer.

Yo, tell me what you think so far!
