33 Unexpected Relation!

"Awoo woo awwo!" Fenrir slowed down and came to a halt some distance away from the magic beast, looking intently at Ivan and him. It seemed to have completely ignored Fenrir, and the grey wolf did not like this action.

"Grrrrr...!"

The ordinary wolves attacking the remaining city guards stopped altogether and rushed toward Fenrir to prevent him from going near their leader. If the Wind wolf had not stopped his subordinates, they might have pounced on Ivan and Fenrir to rip them to pieces.

Ivan felt goosebumps rising all over his body when he noticed the biggest wolf that could shoot wind blades were still checking him out.

"Grrr...!" Fenrir growled towards the magic beast. It did not seem to fear the opponent that was taller and bigger than him.

The giant wolf growled back. Fenrir bowed its head like a child whose mistake was caught by his parent. In fact, the big wolf and the Fenrir were indeed related. They were father and son.

Ivan might not understand the wolf's language, but he could understand Fenrir.

Ivan only caught some bits and pieces from Fenrir's mouth. The grey wolf said that it did not want to come back. Then there was mention of delicious food and a hooman slave(Ivan) that became his friend. The magic beast raised its head to look at him once more and then growled again towards Fenrir.

"Awowoo awo awooo awowo! (Hooman not weak... maybe a little weak... but he has delicious food and my friend!)" Fenrir tried to argue with his father.

Ivan had the urge to knock down Fenrir's head with his fist, but he gave up that urge since he feared getting cut apart by wind blades just because the wind wolf didn't like him hitting his son.

Suddenly Fenrir turned his head and looked at Ivan with pleading eyes. Ivan understood what he meant to say.

Ivan sighed to himself. The City guards that still survived were looking at him with vigilance and also hope. It was because of him that the wolf stopped attacking them. Though they don't know the reason for it yet, they all looked expectantly at Ivan.

Ivan thought for a moment before he decided to give it a try, even if it meant he would need to show his ability.

Ivan extended his right hand out, palm facing upward. Eliot, who was standing next to them, was shocked to see a white bread, suddenly materializing out of thin air, just above the boy's palm.

The Wind Wolf's nose twitched. Unlike Eliot, his attention was not on the magic trick of bringing food out of thin air. It was on the white-brownish loaf itself.

Ivan threw the bread towards the wind wolf's head so that he could catch it with his mouth and eat it.

But it didn't go as Ivan had thought it would. The wind wolf did not make any effort to catch it. He let the white loaf fall to his feet. He sniffed it for a moment and then growled at the other wolves surrounding them.

One of the smaller wolves came forward at the beckoning of their leader and immediately gobbled the free food on the ground.

The wolf then stood up and looked expectantly at Ivan. Maybe it wanted him to throw more of those loaves so that it could check them for poison. But he was kicked aside by the wind wolf, who then came forward and then started circle around Fenrir and Ivan.

The wind wolf was taller than Fenrir. It easily brought its head over to sniff Ivan from top to bottom. Ivan felt extreme discomfort upon feeling the foul breath blowing on his face.

The wind wolf suddenly turned his head in the forest's direction from where Ivan and Fenrir had come.

Neighh!

Over five fast horses rushed out of the woods, with Thea at the forefront. But she pulled the riens in her hands to stop the horse upon seeing the peculiar situation on the ground.

The others behind her also slowed down. Naina spotted Ivan and Fenrir, but seeing another taller and more dangerous-looking wolf standing so close to them, worried about their safety.

"Th... Thea!" Eliot exclaimed in shock when he spotted her.

Eliot and his team usually patrolled the outer market established outside the White tiger city. It was natural he would be familiar with the owner of the Orchid tavern. It was highly popular with adventurers, merchants, travelers, and mercenaries who needs a place to rest outside the city.

She was on Eliot's list of 'People that he shouldn't offend.'

But Thea didn't even look at him. Instead, her whole attention was on the magic beast wolf and... Ivan, who was okay even after being so close to such a magic beast.

"Awo... Awoo Awof!" Fenrir came to stand in front of his father.

Then suddenly, both the father and son started bickering in front of everyone. It was mostly Fenrir on the receiving end, and everyone could see that.

Thea, who was about to take action and save Ivan, stopped upon seeing the scene. Ivan also motioned for her, not to move. He was the only one who knew what Fenrir was trying to do.

Also, he noticed a man sitting on top of a tree with his back against the trunk. It was only by chance that Ivan spotted him. Remembering the face he saw on the wanted picture matched this man, Ivan finally breathed a sigh of relief.

Ivan immediately knew this man was Eva's father. He was sure because the other man who was also in the wanted poster was only a young man, too young to be the father of a nine-year-old.

"Awo!"

Hearing Fenrir calling out to him, Ivan looked back at his wolf. It seemed the father and son had come to a deal.

Understanding Fenrir's meaning, Ivan accessed the System's store and bought one silver worth of bread and one silver worth of raw meat.

In the shock-filled eyes of Thea and others, Ivan extended his hand out, and immediately a pile of white, brown bread loaves materialized out of thin air. The last item that Ivan summoned was a piece of raw meat that should weigh almost the same as the wind wolf in front of him.
