Chapter 4

-"What?!" shouted Tigreal,

"Yes my lord, six of our knights were brutally slaughtered by an unknown creature in a dark alley" stated the soldier

"Why were they there!?"

"We think that they were lured there my lord"

"What kind of beast can do this terrifying thing!?!?"

Tigreal stand up and said.

"SCAN THE AREA EVEN THE NEAREST FORESTS!! HE MUST BE NEAR" commanded Tigreal-

The sun shinning, the birds singing, it was a beautiful day. Alucard and Ruby sleeping so peacefully and-

"yummy fruit ye- WAIT WAIT NO NO NO AHHHH OOF"

A branch of tree broke and fell to the ground, making the sleeping couple startle and wake up. Ruby rubing her eyes, Alucard yawning, they looked at each other, and a minute of silence. Then they realised they are both in each other's arms, making the two of them turn deep red and get up quickly.

Ruby hid her blushing face with her red hood, Alucard facing the other way blushing.

"Did I disturb your sleep Miss Ruby and Alucard? My sincerest apologies, the tree branch broke, and I fell off, but.. I have these juicy fruits"

Harith showing his basket full of fruits, however, Ruby and Alucard just stayed quiet for awhile, Harith confused by their silence.

"Is there something wrong?" asked Harith,

"Uh uhm i-it's nothing Harith, I'll get one fruit, thank you" said Ruby while blushing.

Ruby took one of the fruits and tasted its flavor, with every bite, Ruby is filled with ecstasy.

"This is fruit is so delicious!"

"I picked them right there!" Harith said while pointing at the tree.

"Alucard have some too!"

Alucard did not respond and continued to stand there, staring at the bush.

"Alucard come on it's delicious Harith picked-"

"Shhh"

"You're shhhushing me? Really?"

"SHHHHH"

"JUST TRY IT!"

"JUST BE QUIET!" said Alucard

"Wait! I hear something!" stated Harith

The bush that Alucard is staring at started rustling and making squealing noises. The three of them prepared themselves for battle, Harith stepped forward. Then a magical creature popped out of the bush, it was small, blue and really cute, Harith got curious and approached it.

"HARITH BE CAREFUL! IT MIGHT BE A TRAP!" shouted Alucard

"Awe but it is so cute! How can something this cute be a trap?" said Harith

Harith took another step forward, the creature suddenly goes after Harith. The poor white cat did not know what to do, he stayed put. The creature touched Harith, and then he became the magical creature.

"HARITH!!" Alucard and Ruby shouted,

And then another strange creature popped out of the bush,

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm so clumsy!" said the creature

It has pink hair, cat-like ears, cat-like tail, wielding a large boomerang and extremely cute!

"Uh uhm, here let me help you molina" said the creature

The magical creature who was Harith was kissed by the cat-like being on the forehead, turned back to its original self, Harith. The white cat turned slightly red by seeing a beautiful creature infront of him.

"Oh! Hello there" said the cat-like being

Harith just stood there looking at her dazed.

"Uh uhm hello?"said the cat-like creature

"Who are you?" asked Ruby

"I'm Nana, I'm a cat-like elf or knowns as Leonins, us, Leonins live in the forest" said Nana

"Then why are you here?" Alucard asked

"I was traveling with someone, and at point, I got lost, and we became seperated, I tried to find her, but everytime I look, I just get more lost.."

"Well then, stay with us for awhile, we will help you find your companion, but you have to rest, it must be exhausting to travel" stated Alucard

"Th-Thank you for your kindness sir! sir...?"

"My name is Alucard, I'm a demon hunter"

"My name is Ruby" Ruby smiled at Nana

"And you?" Nana asking Harith

Harith snapped out of it and,

"M-my n-name is life! And H-Harith is magic, WAIT NO, I MEAN, I'm magic and life is my Harith, WAIT, I MEANT, I'M HARITH AND MAGIC IS MY LIFE!!"

"Nice to meet you Harith!" Nana gave him a quick smile

Harith felt like he was about to melt.

"Come with us" announced Ruby

"Thank you again, all of you are such kind people"

They went back to the Land of Dawn, and stayed at Alucard's place. They sat down and Alucard grabbed some refreshments and Ruby gave fruits from the basket that Harith picked to Nana. Nana placed down her boomerang, and proceeded to eat the fruit, Alucard puts down some refreshments on the table, sitting beside Ruby.

Nana stared at them, especially Ruby and Alucard, same blonde hair, same blue eyes, both kind.

"Are you two siblings? Or maybe lovers??" asked Nana

"Oh sorry for that, it's so rude to ask you that kind of question.." Nana added

"Oh i-it's ok, we're just...*remembers the moment that they were both in each other's arms earlier*.....friends" Ruby puts on a smile

Alucard and Ruby blushes and turns away.

"So tell me more about yourself Nana" said Harith staring at her

"Well, I love adventure, I'm so curious about new things and I always wanted to see the world! I have strong magical abilities, but I can't control them, one time, I destroyed almost half of the forest. So, in order to protect my people from my uncontrollable abilities, I decided to leave my home behind. While, I was traveling, I came across Miya, she taught me how to control my abilities. I choose to come with her to the Land of Dawn! But where are we exactly?" said Nana

"We're in the Land of Dawn!" Harith exclaimed

Nana was shocked,

"WAIT REALLY??? I'M HERE WHERE WE WERE SUPPOSED TO BE!" Nana shouted

"Sorry for shouting, my apologies" Nana added

"So, your companion's name is Miya?" asked Ruby

"Yes! She is very strong, kind, generous, she is so very brave!" Nana said

"Well then, you should rest for now, we'll look for your companion tomorrow" said Alucard

"Oh ok, thank you so much Sir Alucard, Miss Ruby and Harith"

"Don't mention it" Harith smiling and blushing

"I think I'll nap for awhile" said Nana

"I'll be here to protect you!" exclaimed Harith

"Maybe I'll get some air" Ruby said. She went outside. Alucard followed her outside, walking with her, going around the Land of Dawn. Ruby stopped near a tree, under the shade leaning against the tree and put aside her weapon. Alucard did the same, then looks upward, then finally, breathing out, and looks at Ruby.

"Are you okay, Ruby?"

"I'm ok, don't worry"

"Uhm listen, about yesterday.."

"I wanted to say thank you" said Ruby

"What?"

"I know, I act like a brat and a pain in the butt, but... last night, I felt secure, I felt that I wasn't alone in this world, thank you for making me feel that way, eventhough we only met for a few days, and you're kind of annoying but I think that we are the same after all" Ruby looked at Alucard and smiled at him, blushing a little. Alucard smiled at her too, becoming red a little bit.

"You want to get stronger right?"

"Yes"

"Then what are we waiting for? Let's go!"

Alucard quickly ran fast

"He-Hey! Wait!!" Ruby gets her scythe and catches up with him.

They ran and ran until they reached the forest. Unexpectedly, Ruby tripped on a rock, remembering her young self tripping and falling on the grass, however , now, somebody catches her. Alucard swiftly catched Ruby from falling.

"Be careful, hehe" Alucard said

"I'm ok I'm ok" Ruby replied,

They stood up straight and prepared for combat, they moved backwards, so there will be space between them.

"You ready Red?" Alucard asked

"Red?"

"I mean it's a nickname for you, Ruby, you're wearing red and your name is red"

"Well fine"

"Hehehe, Ready?"

"Always"

Both of them charged at each other at the same time, Alucard attacked above using Ground splitter, Ruby dodged the attack, and quickly used Be Good! It damages Alucard and attacked him once more with the forward wave attack. Alucard thinks out of the box and attacked Ruby out of the blue, causing Ruby to drop her scythe on the ground. Ruby tries to grabbed her scythe but Alucard kicked it away from her, Ruby steps back holding her hands up, Alucard just steps forward as she backs away.

"You lose Red"

"Really?" Ruby puts on a smug face and quickly picks up a fruit on the ground and throws it at Alucard.

"Very funny Red-"

Ruby then disappeared, confusing Alucard. She quickly, attacked him from behind and dealt damage. She decided to hook him but instead her scythe hooked his sword. Alucard turned around, and charged at Ruby, Ruby flinches, making her drop her scythe. Alucard hits Ruby making them both fall. Ruby on the bottom and Alucard on top of her. It lasted for a minute then, out of the blue, Alucard removed Ruby's eyepatch and looked deeply at her blue eyes.

"Why do you always wear an eyepatch? Your eyes are very beautiful"

Realizing what Alucard did, both of them turned deep red. Alucard stood up quickly and helped Ruby get up.

"S-sorry about that, I didn't what came over me, but..."

"But?"

"But what I said is true, your eyes are very beautiful, here is your eyepatch"

Ruby turned even more red and gets her eyepatch,

"SH-SHUT UP!" Ruby shouted

They remained silent for awhile,

'Did he really mean it? That my eyes are beautiful?' Ruby thought while touching her eyepatch.

'She is cute' Alucard thought

"AHHHHH HELPPP!! HELPP!!!"

"What's happening?!"

"Ruby over there!" Alucard pointing at the place where the noise is coming from,

"Let's go!"

Both of them ran as fast as they could to reach the helpless cry for help. As they arrived, they saw ten dark warriors twice as big as them, green eyes, not wielding any weapon nor armor, two of the warriors have Nana and Harith holding them tightly.

"HELP US!!" Nana exclaimed

"Vexana..." Alucard said

"What?" Ruby asked

"Those are Vexana's warriors, the evil queen, we must attack!"

Alucard ran towards the warrior who has Nana, he slashed its chest and his arm, making it dropped Nana. Ruby swiftly catched Nana and puts her away from danger. Alucard backs away, Harith managed to free his arms and used his magic to attack the monster in its eyes, dropping Harith and runs away from the warrior.

"Be careful gang"

"This is easy!" Harith

"HARITH NO!!"

Harith used his Chrono dash to quickly go to one of the warriors and attack it with his magic, but the dark warrior stayed where he is standing. Harith attacked it again, no response, the warrior quickly punched Harith, making Harith fly and hit a tree.

"HARITH!!"

"I'm fine I'm fine!"

"I told you to be careful, we can't attack them alone, so we'll have to attack them by group"

"I'll distract them!" said Nana

"Are you sure about that Nana?" asked Ruby

"Mhm don't worry I'll use molina! You guys attack the others! Here I go!"

Nana gets the attention of the three warriors and led them somewhere else.

"LET'S GO!"

Alucard used Ground Splitter to one of the huge warriors, Harith used Synchro Fission and then Chrono dash and continued attacking the monster.

"ALUCARD LOOK OUT!" Ruby shouted,

Alucard sees the other warriors trying to attack Alucard and he used Ground Splitter to avoid the attacks, Harith keeps attacking, the warrior tries to attack, but Harith got away. Ruby hooked the monster closer to them, she used a lot of strength to hook it. Once it was closer, Ruby used Be Good! while Harith Synchro Fission and Alucard used Whirling Smash all at the same time. Harith used Chrono to dash to every part of the warrior and attack it, the warrior kept attacking but they avoid it. The other warriors walk towards them and with one more hit, the monster fall to ground in defeat. One monster attacked Harith, the other attacked Alucard, and another to Ruby. Harith quickly jumped on the warrior and attacked it, Alucard used Ground Splitter and then Whirling Smash, while Ruby, she's attacking the warrior with her Don't Run Wolf King! Rotating around the warrior. Harith jumped one by one on the monsters and attacks it, Harith jumped down to the ground and used his skill, and then a long blue sword-like thing appeared on the ground making the 3 warriors attacking them slow down. With that, Alucard uses Fission Wave and attacks the three warriors, gainning health at the same time, Harith, with the help of the skill he used earlier, his Chrono dash became faster, he just attacks and attacks, Ruby slashes the monsters and Alucard slashes the warriors too. All three of the dark warriors defeated.

"Four down, six more to go" said Harith

Ruby hooked one of the monsters, slashes and slahes it, at the same time, she howls like a wolf.

"Was that necessary?" asked Alucard

"I don't know, but it pumped me up! LET'S GOOOO!" said Harith

Harith attacked using Chrono dash, dashing over there, dashing over here, dashing everywhere. Alucard on the other side deals with the two other warriors, then one of the warriors attacked him, he couldn't dodge fast, while he was hit, the other warrior attacked him making Alucard fly, hitting the tree, unexpectedly, a big branch broke and fell to his left shoulder. Alucard groaning loudly in pain.

"ALUCARD!!!" Ruby shouted,

"ALUCARD! GAH!" shouted

Harith kept attacking the monsters to distract them, Ruby went to Alucard removing the branch, crying

"Alucard.."

"I'm fine R-Ruby, don't worry"

"Don't be stupid"

Ruby hugged Alucard, resting his head in her arms. Suddenly, soldiers came to fight the warriors along with Tigreal and Nana. They attacked the rest of the monsters, finally they were defeated.

"What happened?" Tigreal asked

"He was hit by those warriors and a branch fall off and hit him" Ruby explained

"I told you I'm okay now Ruby" said Alucard

"No you're not!" Ruby crying even more

"Hey, don't cry Red, don't worry about me, I'll be fine, can you help me stand? hehe"

Ruby and a soldier gently helped him to stand up, Alucard putting his arm on the soldier and the other on Ruby.

"There were supposed to be soldiers scanning this area" Tigreal stated

Then a soldier came up to him,

"My lord, I found them lying there, near those tall bushes" the soldier said

"What are they doing there?!"

"They're....they're dead my lord" said the soldier

"WHAT?!"

All of them shocked at this news.

"Just like before my lord, slaughtered brutally"

"wait wait "just like before"?" asked Ruby

"Yes, last night, soldiers in a dark alley were slaughtered, blood everywhere, we don't know who, we don't know why, all we know, that it is dangerous, and it is still out there, that is why those soldiers were scanning this area" said Tigreal

While all of them listening, Harith, beside Nana, heard something behind Nan in a bush, Harith's eyes widen in shock, and

"NANA WATCH OUT!" Harith said as he pushes Nana away

At the same time, a wolf jumped out of the bush and revealed itself to the ohthers. The wolf, was covered in blood, in its mouth was blood, its claws, its body. All of them prepared themselves, except for Ruby, she was filled with rage, without hesitating she grabbed her scythe and ran towards the wolf and attacks it, but the wolf dodged it and ran away,

"COME BACK HERE!!" Ruby shouted

"NO RUBY!" shouted Alucard

"DON'T GO AFTER IT, WE DON'T KNOW WHAT WILL HAPPEN, IT COULD KILL YOU, THAT THING KILLED MEN WHO ARE ARMORED, AND YOU ARE STILL TIRED FROM THE FIGHTING EARLIER!" Alucard said.

"He's right Ruby, rest for now, the sun is setting, you should go home.... is Rafaela here?" Tigreal said

"I'm afraid not my lord" said the soldier

"The four of you head home, Alucard, you should rest, do not engage in battle"

Ruby snapped out of it, and helped Alucard, the four of them went home,

'I'll be back for you wolf, you'll see....I'll make you pay and avenge those soldier and my grandparents' Ruby thought

-The wolf ran as fast as he could and stopped for a while beside a tree and transformed back to its human form wearing a suit.

"Ruby....you became strong.. like you said...you'll become strong... and we'll be partners..but you hate wolves...I know you'll hunt me down but I won't let you, I want you to be safe, I'll be back, we'll be partners, it will take more time but don't worry, that time will come where we could fight side by side and I won't leave you ever again....." Roger said, tearing up.

Roger stood up straight and transformed into a wolf again and runs away.-
