1 Chapter 1
"Red...."
Red suddenly opened her eyes when she heard something in her ears. It was a voice of a lady, full of regret and sorrow. She blink, and blinked, trying to comprehend what was it. But the more she thought about the whisper, the more it fades away. Maybe her brain is just playing trick with her or maybe it was just nothing at all!
She closed back her eyes trying to sleep back, but Red realized something. The scents of the dry leaves, smell of the earth, and the sound of the rustling sound of the trees that sway in the well of the wind was all over around.
Red rub her eyes, trying to clear her vision. She slowly pulled herself and when her vision was cleared, she froze. Before her was a bed of dry leaves surrounded by giant trees that stand up to three story building.
She shook her head, trying to figure out what was happening. She look up, she saw small specks of light that keeps peering in the small gaps of the leaves.
"These is really confusing." she mumbled. Red was confused as to why and how she got here. Did she sleep walking? Or did someone brought her here? But if so, why? Did she anger anyone resulting to a revenge? But, that was impossible! As far as she can remember, no one got conflicted with her.
She looked to herself, wearing white night gown and bare footed. She got no injuries nor marks for brut force. Maybe she was just sleep walking, but if it is, it is the first time this happened to her.
She looked around to find where she should go next. Right now she needs to get home as soon as possible. Her little sister might be worried about her.
"Weird." The floor of dry leaves seems does not disturb. If she really walked while sleeping. There should be some trails but upon looking around. She found nothing.
Anyway, she need to get home as soon as possible because based on how high the sun was, it was already nine or ten am. Confused where to go, Red just pick up the direction which she felts is the one and start moving.
The sun was already at its highest, still Red didn't find her way back home. She felt a little bit frustrated but she pushed it to the back of her head. She needs a clear head so that she can think on what to do next.
"Weird" she mumbled. Red didn't remember this part of the forest. I meant, Red's house was located at the outer layer of the city and was surrounded by vast forest. She wants to leave but she can't, the house and the land was the only thing her parents leave to them.
Every once in a while, Red and her sister will gone camping in the woods for recreational and to get some shots of the animals leaving around the area. Red was a blogger and a journalist and she like to used the photos she got as material to her blog.
Based on what she remembered, majority of the trees that was planted in her land was Pine tree, but right now, she didn't find one.
These is really confusing for her. She think, she was lost and cannot find her way back home.
Despite the fact that she felt hopeless, Red still continued to move. She believed that if he will continue on a straight path, she find a way out.
After two hours or so of trekking, the sun was already descending towards to the horizon, Red was still finding her way. But this time was different, she not only feel anxious and frustrated because no matter how she look at it, the place was completely alien to her, she also felt hungry and thirsty.
While walking, she saw a small tree that bares fruits like Oranges but it was different. Instead of color orange, the fruits was coloured pinkish with a reddish part at the bottom.
She picked one, the sized was just the same as regular Oranges. She got curious and started peeling. Her eyes should joy because she smelt the same aroma as the real orange.
After that, she twisted the fruit revealing a series of division just like what an orange had. However compare to the Orange she knew, this one was kinda different. Its inner part was coloured on slightly pinkish with a yellow like layer on top. The fruit itself was also different, instead of watery pulp, it has a creamy like Durian fruit.
It seems the fruit was edible, Red thought.
She took her first bite and she was surprised. The "Durange", what she thought was the right name because it was the combination of the two fruits, the taste was not bad at all! When it touch her tongue, she tasted a little bit sour but when it was completely melted inside her mouth, that sourness faded and replaced by sweet sugary flavor.
"Maybe I could take one! or Two! maybe more!" She said happily.
Her mind started to drift on possible ways how she could introduce Durange to her audience. Maybe she could make a blog first on how she found it, and then the uses. Maybe she needs some help with this field, and then she can create a proposal to her network so that it will be included in one of the show.
Her mood was levitated because of her discovery. The last time she felt frustrated, but now she felt lively and energetic. She felt she can do anything!
Without realizing, she already eaten the whole fruit she just picked. She immediately move forward to pick another. Red grab four fruits, she kept one for her blog and the others will be her breakfast, no lunch!
This time she was more anxious and excited because she cannot wait to start her blog. Her mind was constantly bombarded with ideas on how she will gonna wrote it and how her colleagues will react.
