1 Beginnings

Isabella Lacroix was nervous about going to Hogwarts. She had attended Beauxbatons for the first two years of her Magical education, and she had no idea what Hogwarts was like. Her father said it was much more fun than Beauxbatons, but her mother said it was a reckless school. Isabella had heard about the "houses". She dearly hoped she would be put in Ravenclaw, although she wouldn't mind being in Hufflepuff. Her father was the one who told her this since he was the one who studied at Hogwarts. He said he was there while the famous Harry Potter's children were there. He also said that he assumed that now Potter's grandchildren were at the school, along with the Weasley's grandchildren. They were probably the celebrities of the school he said. Isabella listened to her Father's stories about Hogwarts all the way to London.

When the Lacroix's arrived in London, Isabella was mesmerized by the city. It was different from France. And she loved the British accent. Isabella wished her accent was British, but unfortunately she had a French accent. Most people loved to hear her talk because of her French accent, but she much preferred the British accent.

The house that they would be staying at was her father's family home. It was a grand mansion, with intricate modern designs within it. Their neighborhood was one full of witches and wizards. It was enchanted so that muggles couldn't get in.

After getting properly settled into their new home, Isabella's father took her to Diagon Alley, a shopping place for witches and wizards. It was amazing to see so many magical folk gathered. Many of them seemed to be students shopping for their school materials. She already had a wand and an owl from France so she crossed that off of her list. She had a lot of fun, and her father took her to the Weasley's Joke shop. Her father also seemed to be enjoying himself greatly. This entire place had been a big part of his child hood, she was sure that he was happy that he had been able to convince her mother to come to London.

Since Isabella wouldn't be entering first year at Hogwarts, a few professors took her to the school before term started.

"Isabella, first we must sort you into a house." Professor Longbottom said. They were in the Great Hall. He grabbed the hat and gently placed it on her head. Then Isabella heard a voice that slightly startled her.

"A very smart mind, kind... brave... I see... very very intelligent... hmmm..."

In her mind she thought "Ravenclaw, please be Ravenclaw."

"Yes, I see. Looks like it'll have to be... Ravenclaw!"

Professor Longbottom took the hat off and shook her hand.

"Congratulations, Ravenclaw. Professor Bletchley will take you there, she is the head of Ravenclaw."

Isabella nodded. She followed Professor Bletchley through the winding halls and the changing staircases. She almost tripped on the trick staircase, luckily the Professor caught her.

When they arrived at the Ravenclaw common room, Isabella was in awe. There were curtains of many shade of blue and bronze surrounding the arched windows. The views were amazing, Professor Bletchley pointed out the Great Lake, Forbidden Forest, the Quidditch fields and Herbology gardens. Isabella Thought that the doorway itself was magnificent enough, seeing as it wouldn't let you in unless you solved a riddle. The Ravenclaw tower only got better. There were many bookcases along all the walls (which Isabella loved because she loved to read) and the statue of Rowena Ravenclaw was simply magnificent.

Isabella was disappointed to leave the common room, but she had many more things to see.

At the end of the day, Isabella was very excited for term to start. She had seen the Potions room, the charms and transfiguration classrooms, the greenhouses. But she was especially excited for Defense against the Dark Arts. She told her parents everything, and she quickly had them sign the Hogsmeade permission slip.

She spent the rest of her time at home wishing that the school year would start sooner.
