8 The Greatest Witch 2

The entire cave turned dark in an instant as the only source of light, that was the entrance to the cave was blocked now by a bunch of collapsed huge boulders.

Violet was scared as she heard the continuous sounds of clattering. The rocks never ceased to fall as she just 'luckily' dodged them all until now.

Now that the escape route was blocked, she was sure that she would be crushed by the rocks that would fall over her head.

Is this how she was going to die?

By being buried under a pile of rocks which was once a cave while she was still alive?

As she was scared, she suddenly saw a light flashing in front of her.

Before she could grasp what was going on in front of her, she heard the sound of a blast as the boulders that blocked their way were no longer present in their previous location.

Instead they all blasted away for a few miles in their opposite direction.

She saw that it was Tanzi that used her wand to blast them away. She was surprised at the pose that Tanzi stood in and felt that she looked really cool and handsome.

If Tanzi was a man, then she would have fallen for him and proposed to her by now.

Sadly they both were women and straight. Hence the best she could be was to be Tanzi's friend, her best friend.

She was in a daze as Tanzi pulled her away from the pebbles falling over her. Along the way, all the rocks that were about to fall over them were successfully blasted away by Tanzi and Violet did not even notice her actions as she was too scared for her life.

Now that they were near the entrance, Tanzi still couldn't leave her friend alone. She had to pull her out of the cave before she would have a chance to get buried under it alive.

Once out of the cave, both the women placed their hands over their knees and panted.

Who would have expected, as soon as they turned around to look at the cave from which they successfully came out, the entire cave collapsed.

Violet was dumbfounded by their luck as she softly muttered, "Tanzi, the great work of your Mother Nature was destroyed because of you. Do you feel guilty?"

Tanzi looked at her friend and blinked her eyes several times before guffawing. Who cares about Mother Nature when their life was saved just a few seconds ago?

When she saw Tanzi laughing, Violet too broke into hysterical laughter as she joined her. Both women laughed for a while before stopping and took a deep breath.

"Let us go back now," Tanzi said to which Violet nodded violently. She really wants to leave this dreadful place as she can no longer stand being in a place she was about to die.

Just when the duo turned around to leave, a gust of wind passed by them and by the time they blinked their eyes, they found themselves standing in the middle of a huge crowd.

"Woah, you girls are so young."

"Are you the girls that just killed the White Beast?"

"Are you girls that powerful? You really are great."

"You girls look so young. How did you fight the beast?"

"Shoo, why do you want to know how they fought the beast? We should thank them instead of asking so many questions. You all are being ungrateful. How can you treat our saviors so rudely like this?"

"Yes yes, you are right. We should thank our saviors and not question them."

"Oh? Is it rude to question our saviors?"

"Yes, you idiot."

"I am sorry. I do not know. Dear saviors, please don't mind me."

"Not just you, everyone else should apologize too."

Suddenly everyone's eyes turned towards Tanzi and Violet as they spoke in unison, "We are sorry, dear saviors."

Tanzi and Violet do not know how to react as they blinked their eyes looking at a weird crowd that were surrounded around them.

There are a bunch of birds, animals, insects and also a few other living beings that would generally live in a forest.

It didn't matter if they were herbivores or carnivores or any others. In front of the greatest opponent, the White Beast, they were all united.

As soon as they found that the White Beast was defeated, they kept all their animosity against each other on the side and came here to take a glance at their saviours and also thank them.

All different types of creatures kept on chattering for a while without giving neither Tanzi nor Violet a chance to speak.

Once they stopped talking, everyone looked at them with eyes filled with hope in expectations of forgiving them.
