4 The Cave of the White Beast 4

Violet was frozen in her spot as she couldn't take another step forward nor a step backwards.

Tanzi did not force Violet to move either.

Instead she felt that she would be safe standing there instead of getting any closer to the Beast.

Hence Tanzi ignored the frozen Violet alone and walked forwards towards the giant tiger.

The light that emitted from Tanzi's wand was sensed by the Tiger, which had always liked staying in the darkness of the cave. No one knows for how many years had the Tiger stayed inside the cave and was used to the darkness that it would hate even the presence of a little brightness in its surroundings.

Tanzi noticed that its eyes slightly frowned and started fluttering as if it was about to open its eyes.

The already frozen Violet was almost scared to death when she saw this. She wanted to shout at Tanzi to stop and ask her to turn around so that the duo could flee when the beast was still sleeping. But no matter how hard she tried, no sound came out of her lips.

Tanzi did not notice her actions but instead she slowly raised her wand a little higher and flicked it softly.

A sweet smell permeated through the stagnated air of the cave. This scent visibly twirled around and reached the nostrils of the beast. As soon as the beast inhaled the sweet fragrance, it relaxed within a span of a second.

It's eyebrows relaxed and it went back to its slumber as Tanzi moved forwards in its direction once again.

Once she reached the massive beast, she raised her hand in an attempt to touch its face but with its giant body, she couldn't easily do so.

She turned her head to look around but found nothing that could support her. Thus she brought herself to step onto its huge paws and from there to its body until she easily reached its face.

While watching this courageous act of her friend's, Violet's heart almost leaped into her throat.

Tanzi on the other hand, gathered her strength to pluck a couple of whiskers from the beast's face and as soon as she was done, her face glowed under the light of her wand as she looked at the very long whiskers in her grip.

Then she glanced at the sleeping beast and did not delay another second before getting down from its body and landed on the ground.

Her feet, as light as a feather, walked on the ground without making any noise as she walked and stood in front of her friend with a happy grin glowing on her face.

She raised her hand to show the whiskers in her grip as they were so long that they were clearly visible even though the whiskers were tightly grabbed in her hands. She waved her hand victoriously to show that she had succeeded in her mission of arriving at this cave and the light in her eyes never once diminished.

The frozen Violet finally smiled as she too grinned at the success of her friend's victory. She was happy for her friend as she wordlessly gave her a thumbs up to show her happiness.

She took a step forward to hug Tanzi in a form of celebration as she foolishly grinned. Tanzi too smiled as she softly patted her back. Tanzi was about to remind her friend that they should be leaving the cave now, or the beast would wake up at any moment, when she noticed that Violet stiffened in her arms.

"Violet?" She tried shaking her and asking her about what happened but Violet couldn't move nor speak. She stiffened arms made Tanzi unable to move too.

At once she understood what had happened without any one telling her nor watching directly with her own eyes.

Without any delay, she raised her wand and bent her hand backwards so that tip of the wand is now facing directly at her back.

A blue flame started emerging out of the tip as it slowly formed a blue shield that covered the duo from the White Beast that just woke up from its slumber and now was directly standing behind them.

'Grrrr' a slow growl was heard as the Beast raised its paws and tried touching the women in front of it. But the Blue colored shield was strong enough to protect the duo from its advances.

No matter how hard the tiger poked its paw forwards, the shield did not allow its paw to enter the area that it covered.

On the other hand, Tanzi was not much concerned about the beast but was instead busy consoling her frightened friend as she gently patted Violet's back while muttering softly, "It's okay, Violet. I am here."
