18 New Body, New Powers 2

'What has happened just now?' Tanzi pressed her fingers against her temples and asked the question to herself.

Just a second after the question was raised, she seemed to know the answer.

She was shocked at the realization herself as she did not think it would be possible with this new body too.

Even with the old body, she never had to deal with it because she had always been strong.

Before she could come out of her shock, she heard a concern-filled voice, "Are you okay, Fenne?"

"Yeah, I am good. Don't worry," She subconsciously replied to the Merman in front of her.

After speaking, she realized that her answer was a bit too subconscious. As if she had heard this question so many times and she had replied with this same answer all the time.

'How could that be?' She squinted her eyes and looked at the Merman. What did he call her just now?

'Fenne? Is that the name of this Elf?'

She looked at him and asked for confirmation, "Umm, what is my name?"

The Merman blinked his eyes a couple of times. He looked at her and thought for a while before understanding that she had lost all her memories.

He only thought that she lost her memories but did not think that it was her soul that was changed.

When he heard her instinct reply earlier, he had confirmed that the person was still the Fenne that he had always known. Hence he did not doubt the latter possibility.

When he concluded that the girl had lost her memories, his eyes were instantly filled with concern, pity and various other emotions.

He calmed himself and answered her question, "It's Fenella."

"Fenella," Tanzi murmured the name with her lips. There was a nice ring to it and she somehow really liked the name. She repeated the name in her head for a few more times so that she could get used to this new name.

She had to remember that if later someone called her with this new name, she had to react or there would be weird doubts about her, which she couldn't afford yet.

She then looked at the man and nodded her head, "Thank you. I need some time to think about something."

She can't be thinking about everything in front of this stranger. She needed some alone time so she could think through everything and also plan her next steps.

But most importantly, she needs to take care of the weakness that she had felt just a few moments ago.

She can't heal herself in front of this man. She definitely can't.

But she can't tell him the truth. Hence she decided to say that she had to think about something. That way he wouldn't doubt her.

The merman too felt that she made sense and nodded her head. According to him, a person who lost her memories would feel like a deer caught in headlights.

They would know nothing about themselves nor the surroundings. They need so much strength to accept a sudden change in their lives and a lot of patience to understand everything in their surroundings.

To do all that, the first step is to always calm oneself down.

From what he had seen until now, he was sure that Fenne was calm but there should be a storm going on in her head.

Tanzi was relieved that he nodded his head instead of asking her of various questions. She was really scared of the nosy people the most. She loves being free and doing whatever she wants without the need to answer a bunch of people about every puny thing.

She then turned her head to look around. She looked back at the man to ask, "Can I know if there is any place here that is empty and no one visits?"

He understood what type of place she wanted and nodded his head before pointing his finger in a particular direction.

Since the place they were at was a large area covering meadows, there was nothing that she could see in the said direction.

But she took a step forward to start walking. As soon as she took a step, she heard him saying, "Go through the waters."

She did not understand the meaning behind his words but she nodded her head before thanking him and leaving.

After walking for a few minutes, she found a huge rock and a beautiful waterfall coming from the top of the rock.

It looked so beautiful that Tanzi forgot about everything for a while as she went into a trance enjoying the scenery in front of her.

While she was in a daze, her head spinned once again reminding her of the purpose that she came here. There is no time in enjoying all this or she would be dead at any minute.
