No way… it can't be!

My mind can't seem to accept this new information that it has acquired today. And it must have been visible in my face since my mother suddenly wrapped her around me and gave me her short, tight embrace.

It's all my fault… my mind keeps on saying. If Dave hadn't sacrificed himself for me, then this tragic thing wouldn't happen to him.

After pulling away, my mother looked at me with so much concern.

"It wouldn't do any good if Dave's mother sees you in here. You must leave this place before she even attempts to report your presence here."

As much as I wanted to stay here for a bit longer, I don't have any choice here but to obey my mother. If I do so, I know I would be putting their lives in danger once more.

I cannot risk doing that for the second time around.

With a heavy heart, I left the place together with Aiden and Leo… wishing that my foster parents would always be safe.
