76 All In The Past

All of the people I am with in this dimly-lit room looked at each other as if sending questions to each other if who should do the talking. A few moments later, Aiden sighed and turned to look at me.

"Alright. I guess I should do the talking then since my dude here is a non--talker," The lad gives his friend a soft glare before moving on to my question. 

"Well, as you can see, this place is a refugee camp for those who were victims of mortals in general. There are some of us who… lost our families because of the ongoing Witch Hunt and became orphans who found our way here, there are some who just seek for a haven where they could hide from mortals, and there are those who were victims of execution, just like you."

That made my mouth literally gape. I did not know mortals could this be so cruel to our kind, when we haven't done a single thing to them but just show our kindness towards them.
