9 Family History Pt.2

Grams told her story starting with Abby Bennett, her daughter, and the mother of the twins.

"In 1995, The Original Vampire and Vampire Hunter, Mikael, arrived in Mystic Falls, as he was looking for the human Petrova doppelgänger, Elena Gilbert, whom he knew his son would seek out to break his curse once he learned of her existence. When nobody was able to kill him, even me, your mother used dark magic to desiccate Mikael and imprison him in a crypt in Charlotte, North Carolina, in order to protect Elena and her mother, who was Abby's bestfriend at the time. The amount of magic necessary to cast the spell nearly killed her, and she became too emotionally and physically weak to practice witchcraft. She couldn't teach you magic and couldn't help your brother. She felt she was a failure as a witch and with the only thing that made her special, gone. She decided not to come back."

Bonnie was so distraught she couldn't even cry.

"Your mother tried. She was a good witch. But sometimes, a witch's only purpose is to produce even better witches like you and your brother. All those years ago, when I came here to heal Abby, it was too easy. There wasn't a price to be paid until she had you two...

None of us expected your mother to have twins. During her entire pregnancy, we only saw you. Then when the day came, your brother came out and we were very confused. Minutes later, you came. We believed it was a blessing. Two Bennett witches. I could feel the power radiating over you two. It made the hairs on my body stand for days...

But that Solomon, oh, I named him Solomon for a reason. The most powerful sorcerer to ever marry into the bennet family. King Solomon did things the world didn't even think possible with magic. Your brother has that much power. As you two grew up, you were inseparable...

Then, something changed. Miranda Gilbert would bring, Elena over and he would just hold her hand all day long. And when you started walking, he looks after you and Elena. Miranda and your mother used to make jokes about becoming family when the two of them got older. You know how parents do...

One day, Solomon just started being nasty, vicious towards Elena. Then he displayed something incredible, magic, at the age of two years old. Too bad he set the playroom on fire...

Every time he got around that little girl, his magic would go out of control. So your mother sent him to New Orleans. It wasn't until he came back recently and told me that he could speak to witches on the other side. I knew then that his ability was payment for saving your mother all those years ago."

The fire in the fireplace intensified, and the witches whispered with urgency. They told Grams to end her story and to end it now.

"Someone over there has a hold on your brother and a grudge against Elena. You have to protect--"

"AHHHHH!" Bonnie cried out in pain as she fell victim to a magical assault that turned her veins black.

"Okay! Okay! I get it!" Grams shouted, and Bonnie was released.

Grames looked at the fireplace, terrified as she held Bonnie. She had no idea who was talking to her grandson, but she knew now that they were powerful and mean.

The spirits then warned Grams to let it be. They then promised her that no Bennetts would get hurt along as she stayed out of Solomon's affairs.

After Bonnie calmed down and the pain faded. They used the power of the Magic Hotspot to charge Emily's Talisman and the newly made Talisman for Bonnie.

--------------------------

At the Highschool, things were also intense. Meifeng and Solomon were speeding down the road as Logan Fell, supposedly was a vampire and had come back to town and kidnapped Caroline.

As part of making amends, Elena had told Sol and rushed to get Caroline before drained of blood and dumped on the side of the highway.

Along the road, spirits appeared on the sides of the roads and pointed the way to find Caroline. Arriving just a second after Stefan and Damon Salvatore, Sol cast a silencing incantation on the small areas around him and Meifeng.

"You just carry salt around with you?" she asked.

"Yup, you never know. Actually, every good witch should keep a pouch of tricks with them." Sol explained, then cast another incantation to magnify the voices of the altercation.

Logan Fel was on the ground with a wooden bullet in him. Groaning in pain as a fully healed Damon Salvatore stood over him.

"Hmm. he has his arm back," Sol commented, and Meifeng looked at him strangely.

"I blew it off a few nights ago. Long story," he explained.

" Payback's a bitch, isn't it?" said an angry Damon. He then looks to Stefan, "Get her out of here."

Stefan goes around to the passenger's side of Logan's car to retrieve an unconscious Caroline.

Damon jogs over to the car and picks up Logan's phone. Putting it to his ear, he says, "Sheriff, yeah, it's Damon."

" She's ok. I'm on Elm Street," said Damon as Sol and Meifeng could only hear his side of the conversation.

Damon then hangs up the phone and opens Logan's trunk. He grabs a tire iron.

"Gonna try this one more time," said Damon, swinging the tire iron, indicating that he will harm Logan, "Who turned you?"

" I told you, I don't know," Logan whined.

Damon looks the tire iron over exquisitely. "This tire iron here could take your head clean off." he said, moving the tire iron into a swinging position, "Is that your final answer?"

"How can you side with them?" Logan asked, referring to the humans of Mystic Falls. More specifically, the Town council dedicated to exterminating Vampires.

Damon looked appalled. "I don't side with anyone. You pissed me off. I want you dead. Who turned you?" he asked again.

"I don't know!" Logan shouted.

"Oh, well. You're screwed." Damon starts to swing the tire iron towards Logan's head.

" Wait, wait! I do know."

"You're lying." Damon sang.

"You think you're the only one who wants to get in that tomb underneath the old church?" said Logan. Sol and Meifeng were interested.

"If you're lying to me, I will end you," said Damon.

"Babe, he's going to let him go," Meifeng called out.

"Nope." said Sol, "Vampires have to know there are consequences for touching our people."

"I am not lying. There is another way to break the spell. We can help you. Meet me at the old church." said Logan.

Sirens were then heard in the distance.

Damon attempted to say something, but the tire iron flew from his hand and stabbed Logan in the heart. Both Vampires were shocked. Logan then collapsed to temporary death as only a wooden stake to the heart would kill them. Or decapitation and fire.

When the Sheriff arrived, she thanked Damon, gave Logan a vervain shot, and then dragged him away. She wanted to personally kill Logan after he kidnapped her daughter.

When the Sheriff drove off. Damon was infuriated. He looked around frantically and saw Sol and Meifeng waving at him. His eyes twitched as he saw them but couldn't hear them.

Suddenly the sound of their heartbeat and breath could be heard, followed by, "Damon, he touched Caroline, so he had to die. I told you that night at the founder's party. She's off-limits! It's a good thing you didn't let Logan go. I might have been forced to kill you too. Find another way to open that tomb."

Sol and Meifeng got in his truck, then drove off. Meifeng was excited because she actually saw real vampires, then she marveled at how easy it was for Sol to take one day. His mystery only grew as she just starting to figure him out. It was frustrating and enticing all at the same time.

-------------------------------

Sometime later, Sol has turned down a street on his way to drop Meifeng off at her house and saw Elena and Stefan together, driving in the opposite direction.

He simply shakes his head. The girl was going to get herself killed, and she didn't care. Oh well, he thought.

---------------------------------

The next morning Solomon was chowing down on a big bowl of cereal as Bonnie came downstairs and grabbed a piece of the bacon that Grams made.

"Yo! So you haven't told Caroline about vampires, have you?" Sol as with a mouthful.

"Told her what?" Bonnie asked.

Soltilted his head.

"Oh! I haven't, but I will today, I promise," said Bonnie.

"Good. Because Elena never will. I saw her last night. After Caroline got kidnapped by a vampire. She was with Stefan." Sol spoke nonchalantly. Bonnie was shocked and confused.

"What?!" she exclaimed.

"Yeah. Some Logan guy, a vampire, kidnapped Caroline. But it's good now."

"Okay...I'll talk to her right now. School comes after survival." said Bonnie, "And the whole Stefan and Elena thing. How do you feel about that?"

Sol was the confused one this time. "Uhh-- I think she's going to get herself killed, but that's not my problem. Caroline is one thing. She's oblivious. But once you tell her what's up, she isn't my problem either. I'm not Captain save a hoe."

Solomon then drank the milk from his bowl, wiped his mouth, then used magic to put it in the sink.

"Do you think she's a hoe?" Bonnie asked with a smirk.

Sol laughed. "No, I just think E-40 is a wise man," said Sol.

Bonnie giggled and shook her head. "I finished my talisman last night. After school, you want to practice some magic?"

"Sure. Then we can take a drive to Richmond. I hope you don't mind if Meifeng tags along."

"So you're doing magic with her now?"

"She's a witch, Bonnie," said Sol.

"Seriously?" Bonnie asked. "I mean, I couldn't sense her."

"Yeah, she's a... weird one. But she's cool. And I meant, I hope you don't mind if she comes to Richmond with us."

"No, I don't mind. I should get to know her if you're serious about her," said Bonnie.

"Good, now go talk to Caroline."

----------------------------

After leaving the house, Sol went to the woods. With the human bone talisman in hand. Channeling the talisman, he conjured winds the made the trees sway.

"YahYah, who made this talisman?" Sol asked.

"I did, silly." she replied as she appeared from thin air, "And how long are you going to keep calling me, YahYah?"

"Sol chuckled, "You've always been YahYah since before I could remember."

She sighed, "Call me Tess from now on. YahYah was cute when you were younger. But you're all grown and..."

"Handsome. A real stud." Sol smirked, and Tess rolled her eyes.

"Boy, stop. You remember that I'm dead, right?"

"Yeah, and you still manage to get jealous from time to time. I'm surprised Xiao Meifeng is still walking, to be honest."

"Ahh, I figured you could use the experience," she said.

"We can always resurrect you," said Sol.

Tess had a twinkle in her eye, and then she shook it off. "No. we can't do that. Don't bring it up again."

The two then stood in silence for a moment. "Okay, back to business," said Sol, "Masacared, the cult, got your talisman, then you throw out a wild card and suddenly in vampire business about a tomb."

"It's all connected hun. You just stay focused on charging that obelisk you made." said Tess, "But I also have another job for you."

"Money involved? Grams found this lodge, and I want to buy the land it's on before Someone else can," said Sol.

"The magic Hotspot. Sure we can get money out of this." said Tess, " Remember what I told you about the Lockwood Family?"

"Yeah."

"Well, they have something that we need. So let me teach you about Witch compulsion." Tess smirked, and the lesson lasted for a few hours before Sol went to town.

He first stopped at the Highschool and hexed Tyler Lockwood. He then found a random man placed a hex on him. But when it was time to break into the Lockwood Mansion, the spirit of a witch appeared.

"Bre Bennett, she's in danger. You have to help her." said the spirit.

Tess then appeared, "She's in Georgia, Sol. You don't have the power to make that jump."

"Protection spell," said Sol, "Combined with representation magic. If she's a Bennett, then I can use my blood."

"That'll take big magic, Sol," said Tess.

"Then I'll cut the cost in half by taking life. We can do this," he said.

Tess smirked as she saw that boy soaked up everything she ever taught him. She then left as it was clear that she didn't need to hold his hand.

Without time to waste, He blew the door of the Lockwood Mansion open. He looked around moved straight to the mayor's office. He began to chant, and then a light thumping could be heard coming from the floor.

Using magic to move the furniture, Sol revealed a small safe on the floor. A smooth, nearly transparent rock shot out the safe with a simple unlocking spell and fell into Sol's hands.
