2 Comet

Solomon opens his eyes and stares at the ceiling for a moment before stretching out his arms and releasing a big yawn.

Rolling out of bed, Solomon got ready for the day. Once in the kitchen, he makes a pot of coffee and pours two cups.

"Goodmorning, baby…" Grams walks in as his back is turned.

Solomon then turns around with a bottle of whiskey in his hand and a big smile on his face. "Hey, Grams," he says.

Solomon pours a double shot in each cup and takes a seat at the table. "I don't know if I should be thanking you or spanking you." Grams spoke lightly as she grabbed her cup of special coffee.

"Just have a drink with me, old lady."

Grams chuckles and joins him at the table. She takes a few sips and she nods in approval. "So what do you want to talk about?"

"Bonnie," he replied with a serious face.

Grams sighed and set her cup down. "Of course you do. What about her?"

"You got pretty hammered the other night, Grams. You told her, us, that we were all witches. Grams, what's going on with Bonnie? She's starting to have enhanced sensory abilities. I've been watching her, why is she awakening only now?"

Grams finally became serious and arched an eyebrow. "You weren't the only one your daddy kept me from… To keep seeing Bonnie I had to suppress what was in her. It's not working anymore."

Solomon snapped and slammed his cup against on the table. " Why? Why, Would you do that?"

"Boy, don't you raise your voice at me. And what was I supposed to do? You were in containment, Your mother had run off after putting you there, and your dad had already kept me from you. I couldn't lose, Bonnie." Grams explained.

Solomon exhales heavily as he leans back in his chair. Putting his cup to his lips, Solomon takes a few big swigs and mellows out.

Grams purses her lips in the Bennett way and decides to change the subject. "How did Josephine treat you?"

"Good," Solomon replied. "Really good, Fauline Cottage was a fucked up place. Madame LaRue keep me safe until I learned to control my magic. She taught me somethings, but spirit magic wasn't really her forte."

Grams smirked as she looked at her grandson. "But that didn't stop you did it?"

"Naww" Solomon shook his head. "Madame LaRue taught me how to do a seance. Commune with the spirit world long enough, you learn a few things."

"And you've been learning for a long time haven't you." Grams pushed herself up from the table and walked over to Solomon. She pulled him into a hug and said. "I'm proud of you, Sol. But you can't tell your sister about this. She'll find out in her own time."

At Mystic Falls High, Bonnie and Caroline had been walking into the hallway holding a pretty interesting conversation.

"I'm confused, are you clairvoyant or Psychic," Caroline asks

"Technically, Grams says I'm a witch." Bonnie with a smile. Caroline looks away with disbelief but mountains of amusement.

"My ancestors were these really cool Salem witch chicks or something. Grams tried to explain it all, but she was looped on the liquor. So I kinda tuned out." Bonnie added. "Crazy family, yes. Witches? I don't think so."

"Yeah, well, feel free to conjure up the name and number of that guy from last night," said Caroline

Bonnie giggled. " I didn't see him, you did. Why didn't you just talk to him?" she asked.

Caroline shrugs and says, " I don't know. I was drunk." causing both girls to laugh. "And Solomon was like staring the guy down. Hardcore. Kinda like the way he was with Stefan the other night."

"Hmm, I wonder why..." Bonnie muttered as she thought about her brother.

"He's spent his whole life in a crazy bin, Bonnie. The town say's leukemia, but we're the only ones that know the truth. Reason isn't your brother's thing." Caroline spoke without a second thought.

Bonnie snatched her by the arm and said, " Hey! You will never...say that aloud again."

Bonnie released her arm and walked away.

"So what are you doing today?" Grams asked.

Solomon rinsed out his coffee cup then turned to look at her. "There's a comet coming. I need to prepare."

"Anything I can help with?" Grams asked.

Solomon shrugged and just shook his head. " I have to go trudging through the woods, then do some shopping and ritual prep."

"Ok, ok. I get it. Solo practitioner." said Grams. "Just go see your father, he's been calling me since you got back, nonstop."

Solomon suddenly became annoyed. "If I have time, Grams."

Solomon left the kitchen and grabbed his things before leaving the house. Sometime later, he arrives in town and goes to a local bookstore. The selection was small, the new age section carried what he needed.

Grabbing a huge 56cm Serpentine crystal obelisk, Solomon walked to the register and paid and 336 dollars and 70 cents. The lady at the register just whistled and handed Solomon his receipt.

"What was that for?" he asked.

"Oh, nothing… You must be a true believer to spend that kind of money on a rock."

Solomon smirked and look at her metallic name tag. " Melissa... It's more than just a rock. Like us, it's a chunk of universal energy. We speak English, and the 'rock' communicates in a different way. Can I have your hand?"

Melissa was a bit curious but mostly doubtful. Solomon held out his hand and Melissa took a moment before offering her own. Solomon gently grasped her hand and placed it on the Serpentine obelisk.

Solomon gave the cashier and subtle look and held his hand over hers. " Now close your eyes and breath easy. You don't have to believe, you just have to be open to the possibility. The earth wants to talk to you, all you have to do… is listen." he spoke softly.

Melissa felt nothing for a moment until Solomon began to connect with the obelisk. Melissa's eyes snapped open as she felt the warm soothing sensation of energy being exchanged.

"I feel it," she admitted.

Solomon smiled brightly. "Of course you do. It's always been there, you just weren't listening."

The energy was almost euphoric. Melissa slowly pulled her hand away and asked, "Are you like...a Wiccan or something."

"What makes you think that?"

"You do all the crystal stuff. The whole one with the universe thing." Melissa giggled as she spoke.

Solomon chuckled. "Then I guess I am… Look, there's a comet thing, tomorrow. The sensation you felt from the serpentine will be magnified 100 times over. Would you like to experience it with me?"

Melissa's lips moved but not a word came out. She was slightly shocked, even though she is a pretty girl, Solomon was the first boy to ask her out. But now that opportunity presented itself, Melissa wasn't going to let it go to waste.

"Yes. If we can go on a date, tonight. Mystic Grill at 8?" she asked.

"How about 9 and I'll buy?" Solomon countered.

"Okay." she tittered. " Wait. I don't even know your name."

"Well, I have to go." Solomon picked up the Obelisk and walked to the door. "Call me, Sol!" he shouted as he left the bookstore.

Melissa turned around and watched him leave from the store window.

Sol then went to a few other stores to buy wood for homemade torches, Sacks of salt, yard tools, bags, and so on.

Solomon finally drove to the woods and found a secluded area to clear and prepare for the ritual. When he was finished, Solomon had to remove his sweat-drenched shirt and wipe the dirt from his body. Solomon then moved on to making torches cleaning up

Around 9 pm, Solomon was walking into the Mystic Grill and stopped for a brief moment to look for Melissa. A tiny poke was then felt on Solomon's side. He tilts his head back to see a beautifully dressed Melissa.

"Looking for me?" she asks with a sweet smile. She then looked Solomon up and down and said, "I didn't realize how tall you really were from behind the counter."

"Well it's a good thing you wore heels, you're a tiny thing." he teased.

"5' 5" is not tiny." she protested.

Sol held up his fingers and made a 'small' gesture. As he poked fun. He then held out his arm and Melissa graciously accepted. The couple walked through the Mystic Grill and found a quiet table.

They made some small talk and had a couple of drinks until their meals arrived. Before they could dig in, Caroline appeared to say, hello, but Solomon knew she was just being noisy.

"Ex-girlfriend? I didn't take you for a blonde man." Said Melissa as she sipped her glass of wine.

Solomon chuckled and shook his head. "No. No. That's my sister's friend. This is actually my first time back in years."

Melisa couple a face said 'oh'. "Keep talking, she says.

"Well, well I was young, I kept on having… accidents. I was finally taken to an expert and they said I serious illness, it had to be contained or it will kill me. I lived in the hospital until recently." he explained.

"Wow… You just...look so healthy. I would have never guessed… So, how many siblings?" She asked.

"You first."

"Just me and mom."

"Well, I have a Twin, she's my rock."

Melissa beamed. "Really?" she sang. "Are you two identical?"

"No, she's a short thing like you, 5'2", I'm 6'3". She has green eyes that have a couple of different shades depending on the light. My eyes are Hazel, and I'm a guy and she's a girl." Sol ended with a bit of sarcasm.

"Pfft. you're so right? Of course, you're fraternal." Melissa cupped her cheeks to hide her slight embarrassment.

"So... Tomorrow night. I'm assuming we're going to partake in something witchy?" Melissa changed the subject.

"What makes you say that?" he asked.

"Well, I've been doing some reading and it turns out that the comet is like extremely powerful mojo."

Solomon internally applauded her research skills. " Well, if you be really nice to me, I just might show you something that's going to blow your mind."

Night of the Comet.

"Hey, are you going to the comet festival tonight?" asked Bonnie.

"Oh no, he's got himself a little girlfriend. Saw them at the Grill last night." Caroline chimed into the siblings' conversation.

"Really?" Bonnie asked with half-smile. Solomon could sense that she was happy-ish, though something wouldn't allow her to congratulate him.

"No. She's just a person. I plan on ending things after tonight, I'm not really feeling her." he replied and sent a brief glare at Caroline before grabbing his bag and leaving the house.

"Bonnie, as your friend, I'm telling you that you need to find a boyfriend like yesterday," Caroline spoke as she grabbed her things and left as well.

A few hours later, Melissa was pulling up to the meeting spot to spend the night with Sol and watch the comet.

"Yo… Glad you could find the place."

"Me too.' Melissa sang. She walked over and gave a big hug to Solomon.

He then led her to his prepared area. He had wine, fruits, bread, and cheese.

"Oh. Gotta say. I'm impressed" Said Melissa as she admired the area.

The salt circle was designed in a great Ankh symbol. Lined with torches. In the middle of the symbol was the huge 56cm Serpentine obelisk, trays of delights, and wine.

The couple sat in the circle, and Sol fed melissa cups of wine and the delights she could ask for. He catered to her, spoiling her.

One thing led to another and Sol was undressing her to reveal her naked beauty. After sunset, the torches combust into flames to give them lightly as they continued their tryst of passion. Everything was about Melissa as Sol pleased her until her body couldn't stop tingling and his manhood refused to stand tall.

While Melissa rested blissfully, she snaked on gourmet cheese and sipped red wine.

The comet was high in the sky and Solomon began to mutter his incantation causing the flames to burn with greater intensity. The Serpentine obelisk then glimmered with the energy of the comet.

Melissa suddenly moaned aloud when the comet energy wrecked her body. "Oh my god..." she panted.

"I see you can feel it." Said Sol.

"Oh yes." She cooed. Melissa then rolled over and her eyes widened when she saw the serpentine obelisk glimmering. "W-what's happening?"

"Magic, love," Sol replied. " The obelisk is drawing down the comet energy and storing it. It amplifies its qualities and if I want, it aids me in really powerful spells… And the energy you feel is the energy that the circle is trapping. It gives the obelisk the chance to absorb more and all of the energy."

"That's amazing. So, you can really do magic...Can you teach me?" she asked excitedly.

"If you want."

Melissa stood up and gave Sol a plethora of kisses. " So how long does this last?"

"Maybe three days. As long as the comet is the Mystic falls sky, the obelisk will charge." Sol then stood behind Melissa and held her as they looked to the sky and watched the comet.

Sol and Melissa swayed for a moment until Sol began to kiss on Melissa's neck and along her shoulder. Melissa assumed that Sol wanted another round of profane activities, but she was very wrong.

"Did the delights and wine satisfy you?" he asked.

"Oh, yes. It was all very good," she replied.

"Did the sex leave you satisfied?" he asked.

Melissa laughed. " Yes, you were good in the sack. The best so far."

"And are you her of your own volition?"

Melissa was a little confused at the odd question. "Yeah. No one's forcing to be her if that's what you're asking."

Sol suddenly stopped swaying and wrapped his hand around Melissa's throat. " Then, with your life, I sanctify this ground and bind this circle. A life for a life. "

Melissa felt fear crash into her and before she could pull away, Solomon drags his finger across her throat, magically slicing it open. Like a bursting balloon, Melissa's blood splashed on the Serpentine Obelisk making the circle impenetrable for the duration of the ritual and marking the ground as Sol's sacred space.

He allowed her body to drop as she bleeds out onto the ground and obelisk. The obelisk went from a subtly glimmer to a bright shine.

Stepping out of the circle, Sol got dressed and stabbed an athame into the earth. " apotropí, psevdaísthisi, anakatéfthynsi" he chanted, successfully cloaking the ritual area.

Cloaking spells allow witches to either render a being, location, or object physically undetectable to the senses or magically undetectable by locator spells, making it so that magic cannot track them.

Sol proceeded to drive Melissa's car into the lake. Took her phone to a few places outside of Mystic Falls and sent a few texts to leave a footprint, before destroying her phone.

When Sol finally made it home. He showered and went to check on Bonnie. When Sol walked into his father's house, he expected everyone to be sleep but found that Bonnie was wide awake on the couch.

The moment she looked at Sol, he could sense her discomfort. "What's wrong, Bon?"
