134 Why is it any of your business?

My grandmother was not a rat. She was powerful. Not in the same way my aunts but the Yoit name was no joke. She didn't have to answer to me. Most of the council feared her for some unknown reason not that she stuck around that long after this. But that was a problem for another day.

After a long moment. I saw her eyes move. It mean we weren't going to fight. And thank the gods that she was going to be reasonable for once.

"It was Ceyx. She got the cliental and experience so I gave her the big break she need. It worked out good. Why is it any of your business?" grandmother asked sounding so arrogant.

"Maybe, I've just saw it and wondered about the crystals."

"They are impressive, are they not?"

"Yes. However Cat is climbing the ladder rather fast, too fast is it not?"

At the time, I was mad because Cat was sort of hired so I wouldn't work at the family business. I think I skipped a few family dinners just so I didn't need to talk to anyone with the last bame Yoit.

"Six year is hardly fast. She's been working with Diana since she started here. Didn't your mother tell you?

"No, I did not know. Sorry to ask this Grandmother was that Mr. River?"

"Yes, he's a very respectable male from a well respectable line. He is also a client. Do you have business with him? Is there anything you need to tell me?"

"Not really,"

There is also the matter of her association with Mr. River. He wanted me to find an heirloom for him a few days back. I didn't take the job. It was fishy. To that I was not sure if she was involved or not but it would seem that she was and I did not want to think the reason she could have done it.

"Sadly, it's come to my attention that he is an associate of your father."

"Is he?" I asked string the conversation away from the question. "Then way are you taking the job if he's below you? You've never talked to the help before this, have you?"

"His master is of family." She answered chidingly.

"You aren't answering my questions. I mean by your standard he is the help, you don't talk to the help. Why are you talking to him and not his master? It is not like you cannot meet him in his home?"

"Sometimes I wonder how we can be related," she murmured, "You are sometime so completely clueless."

"What did you say?"

"You are sometime so completely clueless."

"I am not that clueless. I just didn't think you'd be that desperate to orchestrated Venda's death and sink that low."

"No,"

"What do you mean by, No?" I asked startled

Her eyes flickered over me from head to toe. It seems the grandmother I knew and hated was back. The scent change and even her aura changed as if an elf had weaved a web over us and had lifted it. I didn't know if this was another deception or that she had really returned. She opens a drawer and hands me a file.
