99 What's the plan?

It was then I knew my answer. I would risk it for him. He was good to me. And more importantly, I knew what could happen, and there was still the possibility of it. For what every reason our goals were lined. We like our slow like as it was very much with normals walking and working around our little world, not noticing.

"I'll take the offer." I said finally after a long minute of pausing.

"Good. It's foolish to deny me what I desire." His voice was husky as took my hand,

An elegant elfin ring with a pink opal was place on my ring finger and a large bracelet on my wrist. The man was taking this very seriously. I looked at him confused.

"Eat," said Alpha Knight,

In a wave of a hand a table a variety of food appeared. It was his personal stock from a pocket closet in a secret location. Something I haven't got to doing lacking both the money and the time but these things was useful to have and very functional. At the moment I didn't care I was busy shoving the food down my throat without even tasting it, I was just that hungry.

"What's the plan?" I said finally looking up from my meal.

"I thought you'd enjoy accompanying me to the Velberg estate today," Alpha Knight said. "The family is auctioning off certain possessions."

I stop eating instantly, putting my fork down I look up at him. The old man had a bit of blood. So he had ordered many items from me. He died mysteriously, not that I care.

But he was a big collector. As far as I knew he had hundreds to thousands of pieces or more of rare art and beautiful objects. Everyone was there, funny enough in my last life he also died but was murdered by a devil for a cup that he didn't know he had and was more valuable than everything he owns put together. It was sort of funny.

"I remember that case. Ronnie called me in two days before he dies. Asking me to list the items I sold to him. It was an easy case." I said making small talk,

"You got the guy,"

That comment made me smile. I wasn't involved but the guy they got was the guy involved but there were others. People who were so powerful I just didn't even bother to fight.

"Yes, but in the end, the goods were never returned," I said very annoy,

Thanks to Ronnie's stupidity, a lot of art and jewelry that was in evidence. All disappeared the next day after it was stored.

It had never drawn to me that she could have done this on purpose. Of all things Ronnie was the sweetest mean lady I ever met and one great detective, I never thought she could be corrupted. She was stubborn and always did the right thing, many times refusing to let the case go when she should have let go. So when her letter came, confessing everything, I was intrigued by her story. It was one thing I like to change for her.
