187 No Not Sorry

After finishing my steak. Diana was still trying to convince me to lend her Hebe. I look around again and Benjamin still wasn't here.

"Hay, I have a question."

Diana look up at me hopefully.

"Are we expecting anyone?" I asked pointing at the empty chair.

There was a long paused.

"Yes but he couldn't make it. His boss Alpha Knight is back in town."

That name made me paused. It had been a few months since I seen him but the burning in my heart told me that even a fake bond was too much for me to handle.

It was time to end it.

I calculated and I was going too make a big lost but it was inevitable or I'd be too dependent on him.

"Please," Diana said, drawing me back to reality. "We need to stop them from destroying the world, right?"

She gestured the piece symbol.

I swallowed my food, took a sip of the rich ale, and picked up the paper again. It was a contract from a master Vampire. He agree to help if Diana would assist him.

"All right.I will get you a familiar and a Alchemist. But don't expect me to loan you mine. I'll buy a slave and lend him and her to you."

I said knowing who and where I will get her the familiar and Alchemist she need to do the job. I also refrain from telling her that she probably be double cross as Vampires were not the most trusted creatures.

"Good." I said. "For rent I just need something of equal value to you. But since you are being a hero, just hand over the family book of shadows for me to learn for a while. I'll return it in three months"

There was a long paused.

"Sure."

I think I was smirking at her but it felt too good to win this deal. I texted Hebe to go pick up the two slaves. I also needed to make a note to visit the coffee shop as there were so many things I still needed to do before I could resolve my situation.
