89 Is there anything else?

I touch it and then I saw. The items in Kevin's shop that I wanted. The man may live in a desert but the items he manages to collect were good. There was a lot of blood in that region.

"Why did Ninianne leave you something that was yours?" asked Peter pulling it back,

"No idea," said I.

He looked pointedly at me. Hand still holding onto the pendant tightly. I was getting annoyed at his attitude. I mean no one in this room planned for the ladies death. The killer was not here. It was a devil with skill and power and the council was digging in for it, that was foolish.

"I've never seen the piece." I replied keeping cool. "I am a Yoit. By rights it is mine. My aunts might have let her keep it until I was ready. You could ask them?"

Yes, drag my dear aunts in and let them deal with the council. It was a great move. Peter seemed annoyed but looked at the will again.

"You think they will tell the council about this, then?" he asked,

"I suppose," said I. "Everything has a price. I rather not deal with them, even if they are my aunts, their demands are outrageous. But the council usually get's special treatment Right?"

I paused and then add, "I rather let fate do her job. I know better. The question is, do you?"

"I'm asking the questions," said Peter, "I notice that you said you've never seen it before but you knew off it?"

"It's a family piece someone must have mentioned it. I do not lie. I will not lie." I said cuttingly not liking what he was implying, "Is there anything else?"

"She'd wanted us free," Rolland said.

"Can she do that?" said I asked.

"Under normal circumstance, she can't," said Peter. "However she found a way, making the condition of you inheriting her estate. Her account and the sword are not yours, the Knights have it and they are linked to your position. If you wish to have access to the estate and funds, there will be a negotiation, so they will have the choice to stay with you if you are to become the lady of the lake."

I see it.

"So I am the lady of the lake and yet I am not," I said,

"The council is concerned," said Peter. "We must address this matter immediately. Perhaps Ninianne has mistaken you for your cousin. She would have made a fine lady of the lake so wise and kind."

Here it was all about Diana again.

It didn't matter that everyone knew that Ninianne requests me. Hell, I knew the Knights would love Diana at first glance. I was always the unsuitable one. A rebirth wouldn't change how the world viewed me. I could only change me.
