56 Home?

After getting out of Roy's car. Phi the Phoenix appears and I took its leg. In moments we were standing under my large turquoise chandelier at home cover in soot. It wasn't the best way to travel in style but it was the fastest. The bird of flames, Phoenixes can travel from flame to flame in a blink of an eye. In this day and age with light bulbs everywhere it became almost effective to travel. Yes. light bulb is a flame. Look it up if you must.

But not anyone can travel in style, Phoenix are expensive too keep. The food cost and the flame bed can wipe a leaser being broke. I was lucky I got him as a gift.

Many beings have a misconception about me after seeing my home. That I have money. I may come from money but I've been cut off.

Not that anyone would understand. You see, I live in an old vault that I own outright. It was nice enough with three floors down and two big industry kitchen. Both very necessary for any witch especially one expensive taste and limited budget.

The root of this miss concept is my impressive collection of books and manual script. Insured at over three million dollars, they occupy most of the subbasement below. I think I only have half a million invested in them collectively. Most of them were found for their aura in small auctions and garage sales. It didn't help my cause that I had a few luxuries well beyond my means like the mirrors and carpets the cover my floors. They were necessary, my aunts to me that I need to hide my traps. Adding to the extravagance was the centerpiece of my entryway a barometer that controlled the elements, the core of my protection spell, a fine piece I had found in an estate sale a few years back.

Many other pieces were found that way. Sometimes it isn't possible and you just had to pay up and I do but don't tell anyone. They like to think I just put a lot of time finding them.

"I need to order more food" I was mumbling.

Looking at the clock, I decided to take a hot shower. Pull on a pair of sweatpants and a large shirt and do an all-nighter. I knew I didn't want sleep. There was too much to do.

Taking the stairs down, below my kitchen was the other kitchen. A room in my home dedicated to the craft fills with shelves of potions and equipment to cook them. The place looks like a cross between a science lab and an industrial scale kitchen in which was its original design. It had elegant wood cabinetry two glass door refrigerators, two more stainless steel freezer and the sixty inches four dual fuel range offer power and place for making potions around the clock as a witch your job was never finished. There were U-shaped tubes, jars and herbs on one side kept in a large glass cabinet. Under them, I had a candy dispenser lined for the more commonly used like black beetles, peppermint, black pepper, mustard seeds, Poppy Seed, black peppercorns and so on. Things there were common enough that most people would look at it twice.
