168 Check list Seal

Roy told me he'd think about it. So I took my potion and spell and headed to meet the last person I wanted to see.

In the bottom jail room was a person curled into a ball. She was wearing the same Chanel suit she had been wearing days ago when I met her at Beth. The pink material was brown and the yellow polka dots were now grey.

She look a mess.

"Hi there, Cat ..."

"Grey," she said my name, looking at me through the glass,

"Smuggle illegal potion from France," I said. "Would you like me to help?"

There was no answer.

But I waited patiently. As she slowly stood up. I had her attention as she walked closer to me. I look at her as her expression change.

"Jail for a thousand year."

She chewed on her pouty lip and looked at me for a minute. Then nodded a jerky little nod, her head bobbing.

"All right," she said. "All right. What is your price?"

My eyebrows went up in surprise. I didn't expect her to give in so easily.

"I don't want to rot here. So get me out."

"And the price?" I asked, a little wary.

The last thing I needed was to be getting involved in something dangerous. On the other hand, as a

dealer. I needed a big deal to make my mark and attack new customers. The deal with March was big but until it was complete, in a few months was a bit late for my taste.

Taking into account the potential customer of the boss. There was barely any meat for me. I needed a solid deal.

"One gold." she said,

It was below market price. I look at her as if she was mad. The problem is I couldn't afford to pass it up. Helping Cat would be a deal that got people talking about the new boss at the Cafe.

"Can you do it, Grey? Will you?"

I was regretting it even before I spoke. "All right," I said. "But only if you add a copy of your account books."

Cat paled. "You want a copy of my account?"

"Yeah," I said. "I won't taking anything else. It's a good deal for both of us. Do we have a deal or not?"

"Oh, no." She chewed her lip until I thought it would fall off.

I shrugged. She needed as much as I did so I could play it cool and wait until she couldn't take it anymore.

"Suit yourself, Cat. That's my price. You can find my number if you change your mind." I said and turn to leave,

If she ever got the chance to call me was another problem she had to figure out. I'm sure she could manage to get to a phone.

"All right," she said. "All right. Deal."

She offered me her hand.

I shook it, sealing the bargain, and got an uneasy feeling as I did. I wrote it down on the note pad and ask my aunts to help. They had a few merits that could be called in, this was a system the council worked on. Anything could be pardon as long as you hand enough merits. You could buy them or you could earn them by working for the council.
