32 Artifact Hunter

"Are you GRAY?" said a smooth silky voice from beside me.

"That depends, who's asking?" I replied as I gave him a sideways glance.

The male was shapely form in an almost feminine way, dress in black slacks and a white shirt. He looks rather alluring with his shy smile and blushing cheeks.

I mean I am no professional in flirting but I don't walk around getting embarrassed by other people words especially if you look like him. His hair was a cascade of dark silken curls, his lips were full and he had tone flat muscle chest reminding me of those skinny Japanese singers. He gave me the once over as I turn to face him. He looked young but I knew he wasn't because of the color of his aura. It was bright but the color was vibrant. I'd estimate he was a hundred-year-old.

"Dawson River, I'm looking for a particular artifact." He purred moving his body closer, "It was lost and I am hoping to find it? Will you help?"

"Sorry, I don't know what you've heard but I'm an antique dealer, not a P.I." I scowled slightly as I glanced into his maroon color eyes with a death glare. His mojo wasn't working on me. "I don't think I can help you."

It wasn't the first time someone wanted me to find things for them but I was not going to do it. I was better than that, I am not for hire. I kept my face straight trying to control my emotions.

A business card was handed to me. It was a statement. Beings with name cards usually mean powerful and rich. It also meant trouble, they don't like to be disappointed and they don't react well to the word no. They expect everyone to bow and roll over when they snap their fingers and usually it was what happens. However, I was not one of them having served my aunts were bad enough. I also could use my aunts' names if the situation called for it.

"Would you change your mind?" he asked giving me another smile that implied that it would be worth my while.

It startles me a little with that move, not sure what was going on with him. One moment he looked rather like a shy lost boy and now he looked rather like a male escort so eager to please.

Something wasn't right but I couldn't put a finger on it. It felt wrong but everything else matched up. His aura was perfectly nice rather vibrant with shades of the sun blend in the colors of the ocean. I never seen anyone with an aura like him it was like he was design with magic and the gods. Honestly, it look sort of fake.
