169 An Unexpected Meeting

I leaved the building, taking a walk a few blocks into the desert. There was a run down garage, that sold parts use in magic artifacts. It was large with piles and piles of parts surrounding it.

The building consisted of corrugated metal on a steel frame, oxidate in the rain and rusted out. On one side of the garage was a vacant lot for cars; on the other, was an artifact pawn shop where bloods traded in their spare items when things were tight. A faded sign hung askew over one of the garage doors, reading MOON GARAGE.

I came prepared with a crystal gun in my pocket, a protection pendant, and a ring that I got at Jack's and a few knock out potions.

I wasn't sure who to expect inside as I had never deal with them directly. But Old Crazy told me about them. They had a few good items that I'd like to get my hands on. So here I was looking for items that I could save my love one. My dad death date was drawing in and as fast as I was moving nothing I had done will stop his death. I needed a lot more power to stop that event.

There was a regular wood door beside the pair of big, roll-up garage doors. Both of them were closed. I tried the regular door, and it opened easily enough, so I went on inside. There were no windows, and the only light in the garage fell into it from the open door behind me.

"Hello?" I called into the darkness.

I stepped to one side of the doorway, squinting, and waited for my eyes to adjust.

There was a quiet sound, a dull rustle of clothing. I could hear the sound of breathing in the room, from multiple sources in a variety of directions.

There was a scuffling sound, shoes on the concrete floor.

"I'm here to buy," I said into the darkness.

I had the feeling that might be important for them to know me. And that I wasn't the enemy.

"My name is Grey. I just want to speak to RED."

The room dropped into dead silence. No moving. No breathing. Nothing.

I waited, tense and ready to run.

"The new boss," a male voice said. "what can our small shop offer the mighty seer."

That was not the greeting I was expecting. The mighty seer was what I was called at the end of my last life, I inherited all my aunts gifts and grew very powerful. Yet I still lost the war. I didn't not expect to be greeted by an old friend that way.

Red and I go way back or you could say that in the future we'll be great friends. I was there when he wedded his wife.
