10 Lanterns

Bella grabbed my arm and dragged me through the curtains of the tent. Her smile seemed to shine and it seemed as though she was glowing. Her hair flowed in the night. The light of the stars made her hair shimmer while the wind lifted small strands of it. I felt my face turn bright red. Evie was running with her and went ahead.

"C'mon you two!" Evie giggled.

" We're comming!" Bella giggled the same.

"We don't wanna be late," Evie added.

We jogged toward the group of lights surrounding a small marketplace and a large crowd of people. The market had a variety of objects and treasures. Then there was this lovely jewel necklace. It was beautiful. The jewel glowed in the moonlight and it reminded me of Bella. I wished to pay for it and give it to her, but I simply had no money to spend. Just when I had that thought, Bella gave me a small bag of coins.

"Use it wisely," she advised. "Get something worth while."

I nodded and went back to the necklace to see the price. She was with Evie now looking at merchandise, so I thought to surprise her. I asked for the price and it wasn't too much of the money Bella had given me to spend. I had just enough to get her a few treats as well. I bought the necklace. They put it in a medium sized clam. I found a few treats for her on my way to find her and Evie. Once I found them, they dragged me to an open area of grass where Evie placed down a blanket and we all sat. I gave Bella the small treats and she thanked me.

"Oooh," Evie teased.

"Oh, stop it," Bella snapped back at her.

"Awe, c'mon. You know you like it," Evie teased once again. Bella just looked down. Her cheeks turned a light pink.

"Hey, I'm here," a tall, slender boy with brown hair and brown eyes came over.

"Deku!" she squeaked in excitement. She jumped up to hug him tight. "Alright, imma leave you two on your own." She winked at us and walked out to another crowd. I looked back at Bella. Her eyes were fixed on mine. They shimmered in the starlight along with her soft hair. She looked away after a short moment, and it seemed that her cheeks were a brighter red now. I looked out to the shore where there were three boats. The boats seemed to be out by the skyline with bright orange and yellow lights. Suddenly, everyone started counting down from three. Bella was even in on it. She yelled and laughed once the count went to one. She then opened her eyes and pointed out to the sea. I looked over and saw several of the lights that were once on the ships floating in the air. They all lifted off the boat and started creating new stars in the sky. I looked down at Bella. Her mouth was open with amazement. Her eyes gleamed with the reflection of the lanterns. The lanterns. Out of all the lights that night, she seemed to shine brightest.
