6 A Mew Friend

I squinted my eyes to see a faint light coming out from the morning. A fresh bowl of milk was staring at me from the front. I stood up and wobbled to it. My tongue scraped the milks' surface. It was a refreshing drink. As I was getting ready for the day, I could feel the cold beverage flow down my body and into my stomach. I heard Bella's footsteps from behind as she walked over.

"Good morning! How do you feel?" She smiled with her beautiful voice, brightening the room as always.

"Mew," I told her I was doing fine.

"Let's do something today. Maybe go out into market? Or possibly-" She was interrupted by another girl who walked in suddenly and started talking.

"Hey, girl! What's goin' on?" This mystery girl was carrying a basket with her. She had short, dirty blonde hair and green eyes that shined like emeralds. She had a bunch of freckles in a bridge over her nose. She was very short, too. The girl wore a black cloak with garnet red lace around the ends of the black fabric. A garnet gem was enclosing the hood around her neck. She was wearing a short, black dress with a garnet red bow tied in front. And the same color lace at the end of her dress.

"Ah! Hey, Evie!" Bella got up and squeezed her friend tightly, "I missed you so much! I cant believe you're here. Oh! Let me introduce you, this is Edgar, my cat. Well, sort of anyway. Edgar, this is-"

The girl interrupted again, "I'm Evie, nice to meet 'cha!" She leaned over and scratched my head.

"Meow," I told her hello.

"Ah! We should all go into the market together! Wouldn't that be fun?" Bella asked as she looked at both of us for an answer.

"Maio," that sounds like a good idea.

"Ooh, fun," Evie hugged Bella with excitement.

Once they arrived at the market, they started to look around at the food and clothes. Of course, they didn't have much money to spend, so they had to choose wisely. I was peeking out of the front of the basket, and I smelled something sweet. It was like warm honey resting on freshly baked bread. It warmed my heart and awakened my stomach. My stomach started to growl. I looked down to my tummy, The cramping pain of hunger came over me again as my stomach made another growl. I laid down on the blanket Bella placed in the basket to keep me comfortable. A few moments later, Bella opened the basket, and put a small bag in with me. It smelled delicious.

I peeked out at Bella and she smiled, "You're hungry, aren't you?"

I looked at her with wide, supersized eyes, my mouth faintly open, and nodded. "Thank you," I thought. I opened the bag with my paws and mouth. Then, I took my first bite. It was almost sweet. It melted in my mouth on my first bite. It felt amazing. I savored every bite, to make sure the payment was worth it. Not too long after I finished my last bite, Bella dropped in a small, thin piece of fabric.
