1 Thomas the Marine. Now made Wildcat

Born and raised on earth was practically normal for most. Spacers being the only other. Me? I was the first one. Raised in the big apple, or what use to be before the world was United under military rule.

The Marine federation was made when space travel began reaching past our own little solar system and in to the Black.

I went the Military Academy at the ripe age of 18 and I knew I wanted to follow the NCO path. The damn pencil pushers upstairs could go take a hike. I wanted boots on the ground that came with the glory.

That put me into dangerous of course but, it also came with competition. The Wildcats. A secondary army made up of criminals and the lowest of low as they were sent out for suicide missions.

Coming back ment tales of heroics and another day to live. Discrimination was not uncommon because of it. Be it the criminal background, the stupid antics, or the Insults slung both ways about who was better.

I was no exception to this as I teased a Wildcat or two during my way up the ranks. Is it always when a private hits NCO or even 2nd lieutenant that crap hits the fan? I mean..I am not totally innocent but how are you suppose to know the daughter of THE General of the Marines?

Keyword, You don't. Looks like I wont be visiting my favorite club 'Silky Poles' anymore. After getting caught in the act literally in her bedroom I was thrown in to jail with out even a fair trial. Sent to the Wildcats under a stupid petty crime.

So there I was, in a space port lefft with just the clothes on my back, a duffle full of standard infantry fear, duty station orders, and the space ship on front of me named the Murphy's Law.

a ship big enough to hold at least 4 full squads and at least one transport shuttle. A crew outside seemed to be loading up gear and boxes while tarp covered wagon left no clearer idea of what happened. A mass cas. was not unusual but left the grim image of what would become of me sooner or later. Just, would I go down in a blaze of glory or on some backwater planet by some bandits or another wildcat ending me?
