Chapter 358: Get the hell out of my house

"I heard that Big Brother was supposed to take my sister-in-law to see the wedding dress? Why didn't he go yesterday?"

Gu Ruochu ignored him. She had indeed planned on going to see the dress. However, she did not go because of the situation between Ning Tangxi and Xu Yichen.

Mrs. Huo obviously knew the truth. She looked at Gu Ruochu without batting an eyelid. The previous day, her son had canceled the trip to the wedding dress designer. She was worried that Gu Ruochu would have a knot in her heart because of Ning Tangxi. Mrs. Huo rolled her eyes at Huo Zirui.

"You can go whenever you want to see the wedding dress. Why are you in such a hurry? Have you settled your own matters?"

Huo Zirui shrugged his shoulders nonchalantly and said, "I'm just concerned. Why is mother so agitated?"

He then turned to Gu Ruochu and spoke sarcastically, "Sister-in-law, a child belonging to a friend of mine hurt his hand. I heard that it was your friend who did it. Are you now encouraging your friends to commit such vile acts?"

Huo Zirui never expected Huo Nanchen to be so soft-hearted. It was unbelievable! What kind of bewitching potion had this woman fed him?

Cheng Xi had been hurt because of her, but he had helped Gu Ruochu bail out her friend.

Gu Ruochu knew who Huo Zirui was referring to as his friend. She understood his underhanded remarks.

"Third Brother, who are you most concerned about, me or your friend?"

"Sister-in-law, are you afraid to answer me directly?"

Gu Ruochu took a sip of milk and slowly said, "If you're concerned about me, your brother is here. You don't have to worry about me. If you're concerned about your friend's child, he'll be fine."

"Is that enough?" Huo Zirui laughed coldly. "Your friend almost killed a five-year-old child. If he had been a little more ruthless, wouldn't Cheng Xi have lost his life on the spot? Sister-in-law, aren't you afraid that we'll think that you're the mastermind behind all this?

"Brother, don't you have any doubts?" Huo Zirui looked at Huo Nanchen, his face full of cold laughter and suspicion.

"You must be joking." Gu Ruochu was still calm. "I'm curious as to where your loyalty stands. Why are you in such a hurry to seek justice for Miss Ning? This was just an accident, but you've already developed a conspiracy theory."

"Huo Zirui, your sister-in-law is able to settle her affairs. There's no need for you to get involved." Mrs. Huo sensed that things would escalate and quickly warned Huo Zirui.

"Settle? So they'll be left alone in the hospital with no one to rely on?"

Huo Zirui suddenly lost his temper. He stood up and smashed his glass of milk on the table. The servants were frightened by his sharp voice and instinctively covered their ears.

Gu Ruochu sat on the side and remained unmoved. Huo Nanchen was already standing in front of her, and his aura was subdued.

"Huo Nanchen, are you worthy of Tangxi?"

Huo Zirui's eyes were bloodshot as he pointed at Gu Ruochu. "You're just taking over what's hers. How dare you act so arrogantly in front of her and lay your hands on her child! Have you no shame?"

"You're the shameless one!" Gu Ruochu knew that he had always disliked her, and she did not intend to tolerate his rude behavior. He had provoked her anger.

"Huo Zirui, no matter how you feel about her injustice, you don't have the right to point at my nose and scold me. I've already said that her child's accident had nothing to do with me. Are you deaf or blind?"

It was understandable for Huo Nanchen to be angry because of his child and Ning Tangxi, but what right did Huo Zirui have to criticize her? The whole world was protecting Ning Tangxi. What had she done to deserve their protection?

"How dare you scold me?"

"I can't scold you? You're the one who blamed me first."
