15 Chapter 15

Rose

The newly bought laptop was delivered today and I was both ecstatic and excited to use it. I turned it on and was greeted by an unfamiliar feeling, it felt a bit too old for my liking.

I connected it to the wifi and downloaded notepad++, but 20 minutes passed and I was just staring at the green downloading bar that wasn't even halfway there.

The wifi's too fucking slow.

"Ugh" I dropped heavily on my bed and sprung back a little.

I planned to make a website and an online shop for my fashion business but the wifi is killing me. I want to start the business before school starts, but that would be impossible.

I shuddered at the thought of school and the amount of workload. One thing I never want to experience again is shitty years of school, homework, and grades that are as low as the percentage of me liking Sophia. I mean I'm not that particularly bad at studies but I'm not good with it either. Is there a way to time travel my way out of it?

I heard the doorknob twist forcefully and I instantly sat upright. The door swung open and Sophia waltz inside my room, sashaying her way towards me. I gave her a confused look as she threw a piece of black cloth at me.

"What's this?" I uttered in complete annoyance reminding myself to always...always lock my door in case a stray finds itself lost.

"That's the dress, you were so obsessed about." I cocked my eyebrows at her.

When was I obsessed with a dress? Heck, I can make a hundred, fashionable and beautiful dresses.

I lifted up the cloth and noticed that it was tattered and all shredded. It suffered bouts of cuts that it appeared unmendable. I recognized the dress to be the black mini dress Sophia 'borrowed' from me but the black mini dress that boasted sexiness and elegance, was now reduced to a rag.

"Oops, I think my hands slipped when I tried to cut a loose thread" A quilty smile was plastered on her face but I knew she was trying to provoke me. Her lie was so absurd that I wanted to laugh on her face but I knew she was just being sarcastic.

But it's still funny though

"Oh, but how come, the dress looked like someone just murdered it... I think someone intentionally did it, Sophia." I gave her an innocent look and batted my eyelashes at her. Getting me mad was her objective but I'm not that immature and senseless to throw a fit at her. She sensed what I was supposed to relay at her.

"Are you seriously accusing me of destroying that dress?" She raised her voice and I struggled not to roll my eyes.

"I've never said any name-" I glanced at her with a provoking smile. "-But you're the only one who used it. I can't just point fingers at someone when you're the only one who borrowed it." She paused and glared at me.

"Like I said my hands were shaky and it's not my fault that it turned out to be like that?" Sophia's pride is as high as a mountain, so she would never admit and back down even though she's already spouting nonsense.

"Your hands were shaky? Do you perhaps have Parkinson's disease or there's just something wrong with your brain. That's the only plausible excuse I can think of if you take into account the condition of the dress"

"I don't have any disease nor there's something wrong with my brain... You're the one who's acting strange and wrong." She pointed her fingers at me and I cocked my head.

And now she's suddenly pointing fingers at me?

"What did I do wrong?" I appeared shocked at her accusation and she looked at me with a serious face.

"You're not acting like the Rose, I know" I smiled at her making her more confused.

"You think you know me well? What a joke," I chuckled at her lightly and she looked at me as if I were a different person.

She clenched her jaw and walked out of my room, leaving me amused and discontented.

Sophia just backed out even though she was the one who wanted to provoke me first. She didn't even put up much fight.

Was this the Sophia I knew back then? Was she this easy when we were younger?

Sophia was the type to never back down that easily but I reminded myself that now we're just young teens and her childish acts just represent her immaturity.

But Sophia would grow like a vicious serpent, cunning and wise. She would know how to act in the dark and hide her true nature. She would be more dangerous in the near future.

It's better to stay guarded and not fuel her childish acts even though it's quite annoying.

I glanced back at the tattered dress and a forlorn expression was plastered on my face.

As a Fashion designer seeing a well-sewn dress to be reduced to a rag was quite heartbreaking. I grew up to have quite a sentimental value in each and every clothing that I would take an interest to and it was something I held highly as a designer. My beliefs were what propelled me forward and made me achieve success.

My hand traveled through the torn fabric and sighed as I thought it was such a waste.

I want to repair it.

I glanced at my sewing table and loads of rolled fabric near it. Maybe it's possible to fix it up.

I smiled as my inner fashion designer emerged from inside and I happily took the tattered dress to the corner of my room where the sewing table was situated.

The dress looked horrible but I'm determined to make it anew again. The bodice extremely looked messed up but the skirt was mendable so I cut out the upper part and decided to make it a laced mini dress.

I salvaged almost half of the skirt that wasn't damaged and made a bralette using the bodice. I took out my cotton lace fabric and attached the bralette and the skirt.

The outcome looked like a two-piece that was attached and covered with black see-through lace.

I spent around two hours making and refurbishing it and I sighed out of relief seeing my plan came to fruition and my effort paid off.

It was quite sexy more than I imagined but I was glad the ruined mini dress was used to create a totally new one.

But sadly it was not my style and I'll gladly give it to other women that are sexy enough to pull it off. I put it back in the closet where it's safely kept and guarded.

I turned around and remembered my computer and notepad++ and noticed that it was done downloading and my day couldn't get any better.

"Ok, let's do this!" I cracked my knuckles as I was hyping myself out and squeezed my brain for a couple of hours for HTML codes and CSS.

Making a website was one tedious task but knowing it's for myself and my future, made me work harder.

"I wish I could drink coffee right now," I muttered to myself knowing Sena would freak out if I suddenly pop in the kitchen and drink coffee. She was someone who greatly opposed to me as a teenager drinking caffeine.

I remembered showing up in the kitchen and brewing coffee for myself yesterday and Sena came in with tons of sermons and advice regarding coffee.

I twitched with the thought of hearing her lectures again and decided that it would be best to keep away from coffee for a while.
