24 CHAPTER 24

After the realization that I was yet again sent to another world, I excused myself from the Mikazuchi's house and went outside to gather some fresh air. I look above to the sky and inwardly asked the question. Why am I here? Whoever was up there sure has been having fun in playing with my life.

I didn't know how long I was just standing there when I was suddenly removed from my own thoughts by the grabbing of my shirt, something the little girl named Kagura did.

"Hey, brother Enzo, mom said with could play outside today. Let's go to the playground, our friends will be there", Kagura said.

Looking at Kagura you could see her innocence, something the world had not yet taken from her. I believe in her eyes the world is nothing but a wonderful place filled with happiness and sunshine.

"Oh, I'm sorry Kagura, but I would like to be alone..for now", I said to her.

"But....it would be fun", Kagura said with a pleading look.

"Maybe another time, okay?", I said as I patted her head.

"Come on, Kagura. I'm going without you", Simon said as he began walking to meet with the other kids.

Kagura pouted but eventually went and followed her brother.

"Damn it, being with this family just makes me feel sad and I just recently got to know them", I said to myself in a low voice.

I walked out of town and eventually, my feet took me deep into the forest. How I got here? I have no idea. I was too deep in thought to realize it. Once again, I didn't know what to do. Seriously why has my life become like this?

Eventually, my walking was interrupted when I was blocked by a huge tree. The tree has a trunk of probably 5 feet wide. I stared at the trunk of the tree and I suddenly felt angry.

"BANG!"

Without me noticing it, my right arm transformed into its yeti form and I punch the tree so hard that it cracked and it transformed itself into an ice sculpture and was eventually destroyed into multiple ice fragments.

I look at the beautiful ice fragments that spread into the surroundings and eventually released a sighed. Aside from feeling angry, I was also frustrated now, the pirate world was cruel but at least I had a goal. What do I do now? What is my purpose?

I subconsciously look at my right arm, which is in its Yeti form and I felt a strange sensation in it. There was an energy inside of it, something I wasn't familiar with. In fact, I focus my sense and I could feel this energy in my entire body, but weaker than my right hand. I immediately transformed into my full Yeti mode and the energy was extremely potent now.

"The energy is coming from me?", I asked myself. How is this possible? In order for me to truly know what is going on, I began to meditate. Due to my training being both mentally and physically exhausting, I took meditation as a way to calm my mind and relax my body. Because of this, I am more attuned to what is going on in my body. After a while of meditation I noticed that my body had another organ, or should I say container in it. The container contains this energy that I am feeling right now. Somehow I could feel the change of my devil fruit ability, I can't describe this feeling, I just can.

I opened my eyes and it was already sundown, I stood up from my meditating position and decide to return back into the town. The thought of what I was going to do now is still on my mind. Hopefully, I could find a new purpose in this new life. I sighed for who knows how many times now.

I was still on the outskirts of the forest when I smelled it, the smell of smoke and death.

"No, not again", I said as I dash out of the forest and went straight into the town. What I saw was a town that was burning to the ground, men who were dressed in a uniform of some sort were continuously killing people, they were shouting something repeatedly.

"THIS IS FOR ZEREF!!!"

"FOR THE GLORY OF ZEREF!!!"

"FOR THE BLACK MAGE!"

I transformed into my Yeti form and began a slaughter.

"Ah!!"

"MONSTER!!"

They called me a monster, oh, the irony, no, they are the real monster here.

I killed every single one of them, some tried to fight back with the staff they were holding. These staff would fire attacks similar to laser beams but they were either too weak or too slow to hit me. I just hope that after killing them all, I could find survivors.

Perhaps if I didn't meditate I would have been able to sense their presence with my Observation Haki, I felt guilty. The people of this town were good people, especially the Mikazuchi's, I hope they survived.

After killing these people I was dripping in their blood. I activated my Observation Haki to feel if they were survivors. I could only sense one, a small kid, hidden inside a barrel. I change my form back to normal and went towards the barrel. I opened it and I saw a frightened Kagura. She had tears in her eyes, when she saw me she immediately hug me and began to sob. She didn't even realize that I had blood all over me. She took comfort in the first person she recognized.

I pitied the child, for now, she was no longer innocent. She had now seen the darkness of the world. She was now alone. I hug her tightly to least to tell her that I was here.
