1 The Strange Life Of Avery Bane Begins

Chapter 1

Every day is the same. Get up, eat, walk to school, you know the everyday life. That is....until today.

I was running late to school, which rarely happened.

Then suddenly "Oof," I slammed into someone while I was hurrying to school. I offered a hand to help her up while muttering an apology.

She grabbed it and said, "Thank you," She had a surprisingly deep voice, so deep that it reminded me of a guys voice, but she looked exactly like me.

Confused, I asked, "Are you a guy? What's your name?"

She/he replied, "I'm a guy. And my name is Adam Darkwaters."

I stuttered a little, "Uhh, yeah you do look like a girl since you look like me or I look like a boy cause I look like you. My name is Avery Bane. Oh god, I have to go! I'm going to be late!"

Adam exclaimed, "Wait! Avery, I ran into you because I need to talk to you. Just give me a minute."

Avery asked, "What? You need to talk to me? You don't even know me."

Adam recited quickly, "Avery Bane, 17, birthday June 20, 2003, middle name Rose, lived in an orphanage since she was 11 months old, does martial arts and can play many sports. Which means you are in pretty good shape."

Shocked, Avery asked," How do you know that about me? And what do you want? Are you a stalker? I've got pepper spray!"

Adam while rolling his eyes, "No, I'm not a stalker. I want us to switch schools."

Avey exclaimed, "What?! No! I'm not switching schools with you!"

Adam quickly said, "Wait, wait, wait, hear me out. We look the same right? So it wouldn't be any different. Besides, you owe me for running me over. And I've already brought your stuff to the apartment."

Avery raised her eyebrows, "You did what? How? And no I don't, you didn't even get hurt."

Adam sighed, "Have you seen the way we look? I just told the orphanage that I was your long lost twin. Anybody who laid their eyes on us would have thought we were related. And yes, you do. I could have been run over by a passing car. Please."

Avery stared at him suspiciously, "What do you have to offer if I do this?"

Adam said, "Free food, a place to live, clothes, and I did get you out of that orphanage. Plus you ran me over."

Well, he did get me out of that orphanage and I did run him over, and he's going to give me food, a place to live, and clothes if I agree to this. Sigh. "Fine, okay. I'll do it. I'm assuming you know where I go to school since you know so much about me. Which school do you go to?"

Adam told her, "I go to Princeton High."

Avery raised an eyebrow, "Seriously? You go to a rich people school? Ugh."

Adam explained, "Yes, it is a very elite school. And it is part of my family tradition

too-" Bzzz Bzzz.

Adam while looking down at his phone, "Shoot, it's time for school. Hurry up and change uniforms with me. I'll explain more on the ride to school."

Avery's eyes widened, "Wait? What? Change? Where? In the car with you?"

Adam rolling his eyes again, "Of course. Where else?"

Avery glaring, "Uhh, somewhere without a guy that can see my lady bits?"

Rolling his eyes "I don't care about your lady bits because I like manly bits. Now hurry up! Get in the car and change!"

Avery still glaring, "Geeze, you don't have to be so bossy about it."

Adam sighing impatiently, "Yes, I do, or else we're going to be late on our first day of school!"

"Okay, okay," Avery said while taking off her school uniform exchanging it for Princeton High's uniform.

After a few minutes of changing clothes, Avery asks, "So can you tell me more about Princeton High?"

Adam replied, "Of course, my family has been attending Princeton for generations. Every member of the Darkwater family who has attended Princeton has been The Captain of The Martial Arts Club. Oh, Princeton is an all-boys school, did I forget to mention that. Whoops."

Avery annoyed, "Wait, you want me to go to an all-boys school and become captain of the martial arts club?"

Adam replying calmly, "Yes, that is exactly what I want. And please for the love of God, don't let them find out you're a girl. Oooh, we're almost there, do you have any rules for me to follow?"

Thinking for a second Avery replied, "Uhh, not really, just keep up with your or my grades."

Adam slightly surprised, "What? No friends you need to tell me about?"

Avery replied annoyed, "No, make some if you want, but I never really had any friends, I wouldn't have done this if I did."

Smiling Adam said, "Alright, I'll keep up with grades if you do too, okay?"

Avery replied, "Yeah, sure, okay. Wait, you don't have any friends either?"

Adam replied quietly, "Well, I would like to think of us as friends, but other than you there's nobody else, but Thomas here, my caretaker."

Avery replied, "Okay, well feel free to make as many friends as you want. Where almost there."

Grinning Adam replied, "Oooh, okay have fun I know I will, hehe. Oh and here's my phone number: XXX-XXX-XXXX for when you need to be picked up."

Avery added the number into her phone.

Avery stepped out of the car, "Uhh, okay, thanks, bye."

And so began my first day at Princeton High.
