1 Chapter 1

IT was a gloomy day. The rain had just finished cleaning off the earths upper surface and cool breeze blew in return. You could perceive the faint scent of dust and fresh air. And see the rain on roof tops, flowers and ground surfaces.

The sun rose shyly dropping it's warm ray on Eunice and Claire.

They were at the front porch chilling out with glasses of fresh fruit and cookies made by Claire.

Eunice sat on a plastic chair next to the small stool where the cookie laid. While Claire relaxed on the wall, sipping her drink. "I can't believe Jimmy really did that to you three years ago. Wow, you're self-possessed"

"Oh stop it Claire. Let's not go over my past again" Eunice sighed.

"Whatever. I hope Jimmy got what he deserves"Claire said.

"Wherever he is, I know he's paying" Eunice said.

"So about your new job..." Claire dropped the topic.

"Yeah,on Monday I resume. What a progress! Right?" She forced a smile.

"Congratulations Eunice. I'm proud of you" Claire was really proud of her. She had gone through so much pain and still persevered.

"Oh, Claire it's late. I'll be going home now"

"You can spend the night here if you want. I have fitted night robes" she persuaded.

"Oh, that'll be nice. But you know tomorrow is the party for my new Starting Again job"she quoted.

"Another time?" Claire said to parking Eunice.

"Definitely" she hopped into her 18th year old birthday car and rode home.

On reaching her small home,she locked the door and dropped the key with a sigh. Back to this lonely house,she taught.

Memories came flooding back again. Memories she had taking to a far vault in her mind and shut. A time when her and Jimmy would run around this same house playing, screaming and having fun. How they would talk about the children they'll give birth to and the small dining where he finally proposed to her.....
