4 Chapter 4: Strike Them First

They approached the location the yaoguai had provided, they found a small house at the end of the street that looked incredibly unassuming. It seemed like a good place to operate out of, righteous cultivators won't try to track you down here.

"Zou Yue, if you can provide me an opening I can quickly kill our enemies. " Jang Li told her coldly. He had hoped to use some teamwork to quickly wipe any adversaries out quickly.

"You want me to do the hard part while you take the glory? No thanks, Li." Zou Yue stated as she opened the door and headed inside.

The interior was in a state of disrepair. If you didn't know any better, you'd think the house was abandoned. Jang Li noticed a staircase at the end of the hall, between the two options he decided to go downstairs to the basement. As he made his way down he was made aware that Zou Yue was no longer following him. She's a foolish woman. It's truly not his problem if she gets killed due to the separation.

An older looking man was sitting at a table alone in the basement, he had Grey hair and a dragon tattoo on his face that sprawled throughout his neck and down his back. The man was counting money on the table, he had many neat stacks placed all over the table. "It's not so wise to sneak into someone's territory like this, Jang Li. I supposed you're here for revenge?" The man stood up and put his palms together, the moment he moved them apart a sword appeared within his hands. This old man was the sword cultivator Shan Li Don, one of the three leaders of the Three Dragons.

Jang Li took off his gloves. "I'm going to send you to meet with Heng Meng." He cautiously approached Shan Li Don, Not aware of any techniques the old man had. The old man sent out a qi dagger manifested from his qu energy and it was quickly flying at Li's head. Li sidestepped the dagger and kept his front facing Shan Li. Li swallows a pill he kept hidden away in his mouth, a qigong pill. Against a master of a weapon Li's biggest weakness is his lack of range, so he was going to use high speed to get in on his opponent and poison them.

Li began to dash quickly in a jagged pattern to try and throw off the man's timing, so that he wouldn't be intercepted. Li got close to him but the old man slashed at him, and only just barely missed. Li took a few steps back, and reassessed the man.

"Your speed doesn't matter if I can read your intent boy." Shan Li Don smiled and slowly walked towards Li. The difference in fighting experience was immeasurable. Shan Li Don has probably killed thousands and fought in a great many battles, and despite his age he isn't a pushover. Jang Li thought this over quickly and popped another pill in his mouth.

Jang Li dashed in straight at Shan Li and did a palm thrust right into his torso, he put a lot of power behind this, but Shan Li had traded blows by thrusting his sword into Jang Li's torso. After the thrust Shan Li was blown back a few feet and winded. He had left his sword inside Jang Li's torso because of the sudden shock from the attack. Jang Li knew that if the sword was pulled out he would begin to bleed heavily, so he left it within and focused qi towards the wounds.

Li approached the still staggering Shan Li Don and thrust his finger into his arm, "Old man you are powerful, but my pills are even more powerful." As he finished the statement he thrust another finger into the old man's jugular, ending the fight.

Li moved away and quickly put a maroon pill in his mouth. He started to pull the blade out of his torso slowly, making sure not to cause further wounds. It was a costly victory, but Jang Li couldn't think of a better way to quickly kill Shan Li Don. Range is his biggest weakness and he will need a way to overcome it, lest he suffer an even worse fate against an armed opponent. Wrapping up his wounds would take some time, but within a few minutes he figured he could provide Zou Yue some backup.
