9 Chapter 8

Arjun's POV:

While storming off, I felt something was wrong, so I looked down only to see a pink lipstick stain on my cream-colored jacket.

It seemed to be greeting me brightly. I assumed to have gotten it when that girl bumped into my chest.

I also noticed that a little bit of hot chocolate had spilled onto the back of my hand due to the little collision that happened sometime back.

I groaned in frustration seeing all this. So, I impatiently took off my jacket and dumped it in the trash can. I also wiped off my hand with my handkerchief before throwing it away.

The spot where the hot beverage had spilled on my hand, had become slightly red. But I didn't bother with it.

To others, who were noticing my actions, it might look like I had a severe fetish for cleanliness and might even mistake my impatience for disgust but I didn't give it a heck.

Instead, I thanked my stars that I had noticed it there itself. If not so, what would have happened to my suave lawyer image when I would have appeared in front of others, wearing that lipstick-stained suit?

It was embarrassing enough to even imagine it. If it was not for my nosy assistant who came to pick me up and the lack of time to even change my outfit, I would have taken the suit gladly with me instead of throwing it.

If my assistant's gossipy eyes caught the sight of this, it wouldn't take much time for the gossip to reach the ears of my friends.

Had they gotten a whiff of it, they would have surely teased the hell out of me. So, I, being a wise man, threw away that suit to save my face and also to save myself from lots of teasing.

All the while, feeling the burning gaze of someone on my back; I turned around to see the same girl from the flight shooting me angry looks.

"What happened to her now? Crazy!" I thought to myself and shook my head. what I failed to notice was that she was angry because of my actions.

Before going out, I gave her one last look and saw her gaping at the floor, her expressions said that she was about to cry. Additionally, she stomped her foot like an angry child.

"This girl surely has some serious anger issues but she is looking cute," I smiled to myself while thinking about it.

My assistant greeted me outside. I immediately switched over to mu professional mode and went to the court in the car.

Daksha's POV:

I was still huffing in anger because of that rude man. I was able to control myself and went out. By that time, Aarna already came and gave me a cheeky smile after seeing me in an angry avatar.

"Girl, give me a proper reason for being late. I'll let you off the hook for today. God! Why am I even bothering to ask you the reason when I already know about it? Woke up very late, right?" I asked her to which she pretended to be pitiful by pulling a sad face.

I knew she was trying very hard to come up with an excuse to escape from my wrath. Soon she looked at me with her brightened eyes and said.

"Akka, you’re right. I woke up so late, but you don't know the reason behind it. You know that I am not good at cooking, right?" She asked me and I nodded my head skeptically.

"But I wanted to prepare breakfast for you as I knew you would be really tired and hungry due to the long journey. So, I stayed up till midnight, watching some cooking videos on YouTube to make a simple breakfast for you and that resulted in me waking up late. So, I only managed to make some sandwiches for you, " She said while handing a box containing sandwiches to me.

All the while, I was looking at her with a scrutinizing gaze to judge whether to believe her or not.

But after seeing the sandwiches I softened my stance a little. Seeing this, she smiled at me brightly as if she was celebrating something.

After that, we both hopped onto her scooty as she started driving. I took the back seat and started eating those sandwiches. After finishing them, I looked at Aarna doubtfully.

"You better not lie to me," I warned her.

"With your IQ, how can I ever outsmart you? So, akka, believe me, I am not lying. Btw, why are you so angry earlier? As much as I know you, you won't get angry over having to wait for someone at the airport. Something else must have happened to make you so angry. So tell me." She deduced.

Upon hearing Aarna's question, I immediately forgot about those sandwiches matter and started narrating to her about the events at the airport.

"All thanks to you. While waiting for you, I bumped into a rude guy. He has a face that anyone could die for. But what's the use of having a good-looking face when he has such a foul temper. You know, he dared to dump his suit in the trash bin, just because I touched it while bumping into him. What a rotten behavior. He and his suit should go to hell," I stopped my rant as I was out of breath.

"Well, thanks to him then," she said as a full-blown smile adorned her face.

"Why are you smiling to yourself like an idiot, and most importantly, why the hell are you thanking that arrogant man?" I asked, not able to comprehend her weird behavior.

"Yes. All thanks to him, I got to see a glimpse of my old Akka. It's been so long since I saw you behaving like this," she said while looking at me thoughtfully. "It seems that his one action is enough to bring my old self of my sister back. You said that he is handsome, right? I will play a matchmaker between you guys. So, Akka? Tell me. Is he a young man? Do you think he is single? Akka, what if his family has already fixed his marriage? Oh God, what will happen to you? What if he doesn't like you after seeing your grandma like behavior? Then I will have to do so many things to help you," she started her rambling, coming back to her usual, cheerful self while looking at me teasingly through the side mirror.

I just gave her an 'are you crazy' look and shook my head helplessly.

"You are unbelievable, Aaru. What marriage? What matchmaker? You won't do any such thing. Just concentrate on driving. You don't even know his name. Yet, you are talking about being a matchmaker. In your dreams," saying this, I whacked the back of her head but Aarna being Aarna was still smiling at me teasingly.
