2 War God's Inheritance

Opening my eyes I was greeted by the sight of a woman crying profusely above my face.

"What the?"Somewhat bewildered at the sight I tried to grasp an understanding of was going on.

Searching through my memories I was soon hit with a wave weakness as scenes of another person's life flashed before my eyes.

"Mother?" Realizing who the woman before me was, I was baffled at the sight of her crying over me.

According to the memories of my predecessor, Nalan Bingbing was a cold woman to all except her husband, Wu Tiancheng. Hence it was odd for her to cry due to her child.

As I thought about why she would act like this, another memory flashed through my mind.

"Lan Hao!" I thought in anger.

After attempting to speak with Lan Xi, the daughter of Lan Hao, one of the few Saint Craftsmen within the world. He more or less crippled the body of my predecessor in an act of anger. Due to this Wu Tiancheng threatened that he'd leave my mother should my cultivation base be fixed!

Remembering this a cold expression appeared on my face. "To think my predecessor would possess such an awful family..." I thought.

"I'll make sure to destroy this god awful family in your stead." I thought as I clenched my fist in disdain as the mother of my predecessor donned a mask of happiness and love.

"Xiaodong'er your awake!" Wiping the tears in her eyes she sighed in relief.

"Get out." Releasing a bone-chilling killing intent, I used my Sword Control Technique to push this black bellied woman out of my estate. "Show that god awful face to me once again and I'll end your life in a moments notice." Increasing the volume of my voice I closed the door to my room.

"To think that woman would do something so foolish..." I thought.

Exiting my room, I was greeted by my maidservant Bao'er. "Young Master, is everything alright?" Somewhat frightful of me, she looked at me nervously.

"Everything's fine, but that aside, bring me dinner once the sun sets. I'll be staying in my room." Giving her a set of simple orders, I went back into my room so that I could begin restoring my cultivation base.

"it'll be troublesome but I can probably fix my Dantian using one of the Raging Cloud Sect's Cultivation Laws..." As I thought about what would be suitable for my body, the voice of Senior Yun resounded throughout my mind as something within my soul revealed itself.

"The War God's Inheritance!" Remembering the words of Senior Yun, I noticed that there was a Cultivation Law etched into my soul.

The War God's Inheritance was an odd cultivation law. To use it you didn't need a Dantian as it would create one within the body. Not only that but unlike other cultivation law's the War God's Inheritance would also cultivate Mental and Soul Strength as well! But as all thing's within the world, there was a downside to it. The law requires that one needs to more or less be in a state of rebirth, their body must be in a state of rebirth physically, mentally, and spiritually. Luckily, I fulfilled all three conditions for its use.

"I really have to thank Senior Yun!" I thought. Closing my eyes, I began absorbing the Qi and Soul Essence into my body before locking it all away within the space of my previous Dantian before wrapping it in a shell of Mind Essence and reinforcing. By the time I was done with this process, Bao'er, the maidservant that mother had assigned to me when I was a child entered my estate.

"Young Master Xiaodong, I brought you dinner!" Approaching me, she revealed a soft smile. "Mistress Nalan and I know your body needs energy. So we made I made your meal somewhat large." Seeing the happy face Bao'er I couldn't really help but smile.

"Bao'er, thank you." As she handed me the meal I couldn't help but thank her. "Before you head out, collect all of the rare metals, herbs, and money within the treasury and place it within my spatial ring. Should anyone question why you're entering the treasury, say that you're getting me martial skills to practice. To ensure that no one is suspicious do it without anyone noticing at a slow pace over a span of three months." I said.

"En, Bao'er understands." Bowing, she left with my storage ring in hand.

"Thank god that bastard of a father of mine doesn't guard the treasury. With his immense pride, he wouldn't expect that a mere maidservant of his concubine's child would dare steal from him." I thought as began eating the meal that Bao'er had made for me happily.
